  • totally agree with last 2 comments. Dec 2007. times have changed! an updated version is well overdue, with audio commentary and a steady hand!

  • Total lack of explanation of what this video is, just fuzzing filming. Delete & try again!

  • @LondonFitness agreed. waste of time

  • I have flat feet (overpronation) and I tried this exercise barefoot with a single mat (very thin). I couldn't even do it with the mat double folded (which is how it should be done I guess) because I found it too difficult to balance. My foot muscles get tired and I find this extremely difficult. I'll keep doing this and report later if my condition improves.

The whole reason I am looking into this is that I am getting some serious knee issues due to the overpronation of my feet.

  • Will this correct 'flat feet,' i.e., overpronation?

  • @castoutfear nope

  • please clarify the procedure clearly

  • is this for shin splints I have them bad!

  • What is this exercise used for? Speed, agility, balance?

  • Fixing pronation issues:

"This is where the exercises come into play. Adding a thin (1/4"-1/2") mat underneath the foot of a person performing a closed chain exercise forces the weak invertors (tibialis posterior, flexor digitorum longus, and flexor hallucis longus4) and the plantar flexors (gastrocnemius, soleus, and plantaris4) to actively engage."
