Another piece of "Ridicules Trivia," The Synth Drums were known by the Simmons Drums Company (which went out of business in the early 90's) They drummer is playing an early set the pads started out round before adopting their distinct "hexagon" shape for which many bands throughout the decade used. They were easier to transport, produce unique sounds, and were very expensive. Even tv shows like Knight Rider used them in their sound tracks! Watch an episode, you will hear it sometimes!

@hubbaman9885 even more trivia, did you know the drummer was an electronic engineer who left the band for family reasons, he is also the inventor of the modern supermarket cashiers system which tracks items sold and tabs on inventory, the electronic scanner system was hi invention, he made bajillions and so he didnt need to be in the band any more. :-)
