  • Does anybody know where i can find that kind of pickguard model with a golden finish??

    PLS HELP!

  • @xBenjaxGuitar Of this model? or just a strat style guitar n general?

  • @vaisatchatrucci of that model!

  • @xBenjaxGuitar Sorry no idea. :-(

  • can I ask? i have the same guitar and wanna replace pickguard. what type is this? american, japan, mexico or korea or what? can somebody help? thx

  • @DieselMatthew It was made in Vietnam I believe - at least thats what the back of the headstock said if I'm not mistaken...?

  • i actually won this guitar at one of lynch's guitar clinics earlier today. so i dont have to worry about some horrid sanding job or anything. i must agree that the setup it came with was remarkable for post-factory.

  • @MegadethPWNMetallica Right on! Yeah it's great for the money and in your case - for FREE you dog! ;)

  • good review and honest words, thank you !!!

  • @armednation Glad you liked it! My pleasure - Thanks!

  • after listening to your honest opinion you then broke out into sweet clean guitar bliss!!! and then rockin tones, right on my man ;)

  • @uomoscozzese Thanks man - i appreciate that! :) glad you liked it

  • That's more like a dream guitar!!!

A Strat, which is kinda like a Les Paul-style too o..o

  • @jeserty6 It rocks for the money thats for sure... :)

  • Dude, you should totally oil and wax that guitar.. dont paint it!

It would look awesome, and for some reason you feel closer to the instrument when you play.

  • @notuern Thats a great idea actually - but it's actually about to be sold to a friend of mine so I can get a real strat I have my eye on... :)

  • @vaisatchatrucci

    Ah, thats kewl.

But now you know what to do with your next guitar then! ;)

And i have to say, i love your videos man! I was kind of shocked to see "human nature" amongst your videos.. great song, and you inspired me to interpret it my self. :)

  • @notuern Well, my next one is a black '62 Fender heavy relic reissue which is what I wanted this one to be so I'm looking forward to that! :) Thanks man! I'm glad you dig the vids - always great and flattering to hear so thank you! Well when you get your version recorded and up on YouTube I wanna see it!

  • @vaisatchatrucci

Ah, that sounds like one sweet guitar.

And im not sure my version will hit youtube(At least not with me playing it.), because im thinking about doing a real cover with doubletracking etc.

Anyways, if it gets done, il keep you posted! :)

  • A Yamaha Pacifica 112J with a natural finish would look just as good.

  • @stevieVantanna The same could be said for any $200 cheap ass guitar though yeah? the difference is this one had 2 replacement Semour Duncans put in which made it a steal at $150... Still a terrible guitar from a construction standpoint, and I'd never pay full price for one.

  • Does ESP use a decal or is it a distress finish?

  • The LTD and the ESP version both are painted (no decals), but the LTD version looks like they used a template and it's very cheesy looking and I'll likely just paint it black, but the ESP version looks more realistically relic'd.

  • smart man with the graphite I tell people to do that too.

  • Yes! Particularly on a non-locking (Floyd Rose) system... i HATE the little "PING!" of the string at the nut or bridge when you use the tremolo arm - drives me INSANE... Same thing with my Petrucci's so it's not like its related to the quality of the instrument which some people may suspect... and thanks - I've never been accused of being smart before so that was quite refreshing... :) My wife would strongly disagree though... LOL

  • ive got an RG2550 with the Edge Zero in it. It eliminates the pinging and stays in tune much better than a floyd due to its incredible 'zero tension" design. Check one out sometime.

  • Nice! I was an Ibanez guy all my life - figures they'd come out with that AFTER I started playing Music Man guitars... LOL

  • You know I played this guitar in a music store the other day and I have to say I was really surprised at the easy of playability of this guitar. I liked it a lot better than a Mexican strat of similar or even more expensive price, or even a lower priced American strat. I would changed the humbucker to a Dimarzio AT-1 (Andy TImmons pickup) and the two singles to Dimarzio cruizers. But the neck is really nice. It stayed it tune pretty well for me and I was doing some heavy bends.

  • Exactly - try going to a dudes house and offering him $150 for it and this AFTER he already replaced the stock pickups with over $150 worth of pickups... No brainer! I too was surprised although I did have to set it up myself - he had the action REALLY high but that was easy and now it's a little shredder! I ded have to pull the B and E strings out of the little thing that pulls them down on the headstock and that helped it stay in tune better. (whatever thats called... LOL)

  • Yeah man, even a good friend of mine who is a classic tele player and uses 11's in STANDARD TUNING no less, loved this guitar for what it did and what it was worth. He also really dug that new Marshall Haze amplifier. That thing was surprisingly cool and had a good tone to it. I was shocked. For the price you can't beat it I don't think.

  • I think I am borderline wanting to go to 11's myself... 10's are getting a little too slinky for me, but I dunno if I can hang with a full set of 11's - maybe a hybrid set of 10's... I'll have to check out that Marshall - thanks for the tip!

  • No problem. They have a 15 watt mini stack and a 40 watt combo. Both sound really good. Also, you can run the mini stack head through a 4x12 cab and blow some stuff up. I was shocked. It seems like Marshall is actually trying to make decent amps again.

  • @vaisatchatrucci I swear by 11's, but with uoure style of playing, I'd go with the Skinny top fat bottom if the low strings are your problem. If you want your strings to fight back a little bit, go with full on 11's. I hope this will help you decide.

  • Yeah I think youre right on that... 11s I could get used to I think but not a full set. I did have some super heavy gauge strings on my 1st petrucci a while back, but I was tuning down to C so it was an adjustment for the heavier gauge across the board but the tension wasn't much different. I actually loved it, but with only one guitar at the time, I couldn't keep them on there 100% of the time... Now that I have two - I am seriously considering going back to that...

  • how do you record? it sounds really awsome

  • Thanks! For this video its just the guitar -> Apogee Duet -> iMac -> using Amplitube software -> audio out to bose speakers and then it's just the built in mic on the iMac picking up the sound from the speakers. What I SHOULD do is run signal directly from Amplitube or mic up my cabinet but that would require a game plan and forethought which isn't likely going to happen... LOL

  • crap got no mac well thanks anyways

  • Really nice clean riff!I heard it on the Mesa's site!!!

  • Yeah I LOVE that song.... Andy Timmons is great.

  • What is the name of that song?I think Andy wrote this song with Electric Gypsy's mood!!!!

  • yeah absolutely! its called 'Resolution'

  • Sounds like you got a good deal there.

    I've checking some strats myself.

    Keep Rockin'

  • Yeah it was cheap and I couldn't resist - plus I'm gay for George Lynch - LOL what can you do...

  • lol yup I got the fever too!

  • I really like your playing style! Why aren`t you a world known guitarist? :D

  • because he it shit in the bathroom :):)

  • Not sure what that was supposed to mean in English, but I am guessing it wasn't very nice. :)

  • Well thank you! Too kind - well, the best explanation would simply be I'm just not good enough I guess...! LOL :)

  • Thanx a lot man!!!

  • You bet! Hope that helped - I am guessing I'm not going to sell many of these based on my review... LOL - but if you can find it cheap - it's a decent guitar.

  • I don't dig the guitar that much. But i like your playing! nice review also. Sell it and buy another JP! lol =)

  • Yeah I couldn't resist for $150... It's better than any cheap mexican strat in my opinion, but my feelings wouldn't be hurt if it got stolen... :)

  • That's a steal. I still need a JP6. I'm hunting one down in my local area. My strat is the victim of the part exchange that will occur.

  • You'll never go back to a strat I know this much and if you want a strat "sound" then get a Silhouette which are kick ass too...

  • Yeah!.... Fender strats in my opinion have their place in history and peoples collections... but I own 2 high end guitars and I want something a bit more modern and special... with more options..

  • Totally agree...!

  • That Andy Timmons.. Haha...

  • Andy is the bomb...
