  • what should i get, this ride or the 22" AAX metal ride?

  • This is a great ride cymbal. It sounds good when played softly or loudly. It seems to be the perfect all-around ride cymbal. The bell is pretty nice too....It sounds great when playing jazz especially.

  • that's not very dry is it?

  • I'm looking for a ride that would sound good with reggae/ska and hard rock, any suggestions?

  • @noreaction1 This is apparently a really versatile ride and it is only 265 US. I've heard the HHX groove ride is really nice sounding too but it is more expensive.

  • holy shit that bell is powerful

  • I'm looking for a ride like this but a bit cheaper, about £120, any suggestions?

  • This is one of the best sounding rides I've ever played. I own it now, and it's perfect for a slightly vintage sound but works well in metal, rock, pop, even jazz. It's very versatile. The bell isn't TOO loud, but it does stand out and has plenty of attack. If you don't want a purely "metal" ride, but you want something that breathes nicely yet has good stick definition with a slight vintage feel get this. It's pretty loud too. All around amazing, and extremely dynamic.

  • ive got a sabian aa metal ride and its brutal great for blast. i want something with more ring and tone and a bit of crashing ability trying to pick help please

  • which is better for metal this or the aax

  • this one is way louder than the aax

  • if u want a good ride fo metal i recomend the zildjian z custom mega bell ride

  • but i dont like the z custom because my band is like(not even as close to) opeth and opeth has a calm side on their music so does my band

  • so i need a ride that is suitable for metal but that can play a little softer

  • o ok so i think this would be nice if u want something softer

  • HHX are good for an all round ride! :-) check out the HHX 21" dry raw bell. It's got a nice ping, a good sounding bell and it crashes like a dream! It's a bit on the expensive side but worth it. hope this helps! :-)

  • whatever you want. owning cymbals isn't about which is better for what genre. it's what you like.

  • the AA, aax is a little bit softer

  • does it crash nicely?

  • 21" RIDE, you dont crash it!

  • no it rapes mics.

i was recording and all the sudden it pulled my mic in and started raping it.

    i was like

    NOOO STOOP

  • fuck i love this things bell.

  • i own one. i recommend it. its loud n cuts through any live scenario great cymbal

  • good to crash?

  • no not to crash. its heavy, but you can wail on it and it sounds thrashy and pretty solid, if you know what i mean.

  • is it good for metal? I've been trying to find a good ride for metal

  • think about it as a very very similar ride for like... lamb of god kinda, and slayer. its very clear, accents well. the bell is high pitched to really get heard and its very solid so it wont be flying uncontrollably around like a crash. the best advice i have is to go to guitar center and try one out. remember...30 day satisfaction guarantee lol

  • but not for led zepplin ´kind of thing?

  • hm, anyone have any idea how this sounds crashed?

didn't quite get a good enough listen from the video

    Thanks :)

  • assuming you play TRX cymbals..

where in hell do you BUY them, anyway??? and how do they sound?

    interested :) thanks

  • @pablopablopablo22 TRX cymbals are nice, a shop near me is one of the few places that sells them. I tryed out an ALT ride (I think), and it sounded ok. Very similar to this cymbal.

  • I`m a Paiste man but if I played Sabian I would go for the AA- series.

  • this sounds great!

please can you make a 22" aax metal ride video?

  • Omg! That sounds too beautiful to be true :O

  • It's for me the best ride ever!

  • @ StephenFiorentini

I tested all 4 sabian raw bell dry rides at the "musikmesse" in frankfurt (germany)

my favourite was the HHX raw bell dry ride, then the AAX, then the HH.

the AA raw bell dry ride was a bit to "heavy" for me ^^

  • w/ time it'll loosen up and get 'ligther'

  • that sounds so awesome

  • Which is better this or the HH raw bell dry ride...err i dont know!

actually...yeah it would probably be this lol

it cuts better and better stick response

  • For me the HH is better. The AA has more overtones than the HH.

  • Awesome ride.....I prefer this over the HH Raw Bell Dry Ride....

  • I just picked up this ride a few days ago and am very impressed. The shop I bought it at was closing it out for $217 US, and I had some stuff to trade in for it too, so I only ended up paying under $140 for it, including tax. And I tell you, I'd pay $300+ for it. Totally. And this video is very true to its actual sound, as well. Not much filtering going on here.

  • this ride is amazing and the good thing is that its cheap if i wasnt i would never buy it

  • this ride is one of the best i ever seen

  • just got one today its so gooood

  • sabian makes the best rides

  • Guys do you have any idea that if you order this cymbal from GAK

Whether it comes in brilliant finish or natural finish? because there's not an option to choose which one you'd prefer =[

    thanks!

  • My advice is to buy from us, we'll get you the right one. ;^) But seriously, it's available either way; my guess is that traditional finish would be standard.

  • @647826693 RBDRs don't come in brilliant finishes =/

  • i have this cymbal and i love it! yeah its not much of a crash but when u hit the bell, it comes with a precise loud DING!!!

    i wuv it =]

  • That's awesome. Sabian>Paiste

  • love this ride, great sound!

  • definately!

  • i raelly like the definition and ping of this ride. tad long on the overtones, but how does it handle when you crash it?

  • Yeah, at 3200+ grams, it's probably not the ideal crash ride. (Unless you're playing *really* heavy music.) I'd recommend a thinner ride if you want something more multi-purpose. Thanks for watching!

  • @SonyPS325 actually this ride crashes fairly well depending on how you do it

in this video the crash doesnt sound good because they hit it right on the edge but if hit with the shank of the stick on the bow of the ride almost in a sweeping motion you can get a nice crash sound but still as they said its not your best option for a crashing ride

  • @SonyPS325 it doesn't crash at all :o

  • yeah yeahyeah!!

    ;)!!
