The head I use sounds a little to loose and jazz-like. I would like it to sound a little more Alternative / Rock like yours. What would you reccommend?

I use an Evans snare head just tightened about as far as it'll go without popping off. If you can tighten both the bottom and the top heads that much it'll sound just about like an OCDP snare or even closing to a Dynasty marching snare.
