To all of you that keep complaining about the clean setting; they designed this amp to be a normal jcm 800, but with an insane booster switch so in the end it's just a piece of gear that has more capabilities, I mean what if you wanted that great metal tone, but wanted the cleans or even the capability to jam some dirty blues or even funk too.....either way it's made to be a jcm 800 with that classic sound that we all know and love,but with extras.

This amp is made for a certain sound. unfortunately, every 5150/6505 amp ive ever played never had any balls whatsoever. For example:

Nile - annihalation of the wicked (JCM2000 DSL)

Bullet for my valentine - hand of blood (6505)

notice, Nile's tone has balls and BFMV sounds halfhearted.

no, i said the 6505 has no balls. If he is in fact using a mesa in the studio, he needs a severe EQ change. theres just no 'guts' to the sound. even a dual rec with the master cranked and the channel volume at .5 sounds better than BFMV's studio tone, in my opinion. the only time ive ever heard a 6505 and liked it was with Whitechapel, but theyve got 3 guitarists using the same amp so that added a bunch to it.

@Geetarfrik no matt tuck uses a 6505 and michael paget used a mesa boogie dual rectifier he might have gone to a triple i cant remember havent looked into it and i donno machine heads tone is awesome so i donno whether or not i agree with you but bullet are more like a old school less bassey tone more guitars are used to push through the bass guitar and the drumms

@youjustdie106 The jcm800 has a the classic metal sound. Maiden, metallica, slayer, anthrax..all the greats use the jcm. The 6505 is my personal favourite modern metal amp, but you can fuck the mesas.

I just said that for an amp that people are going to buy to play crushing riffs, they wanna hear crushing riffs to get a real idea of what they're gonna be playing and how the amp sounds and reacts to their playing. This does not demonstrate this by any means. It gives a bit of an idea, but nowhere near the belting a metal guitarist would give it. Where are the fast riffs, the high neck licks?

But for metal he does pretty well everything. You cannot criticize him just because he's not playing brutal death metal in this vid, all he does here is perfect to make you understand the tone of the amp. if you cannot get an idea from this demo, again, I think the limits are in your ears.

I have owned many yube heads over the years. Everythying from Dual rectifier Mesa's to Soldano Hot Rod's....This Head sounds absolutely phenominal with the 1960a/b lead cabs (I have one straight and one angled in my stack) I did find that it is not forgiving to cheaper pups, so the guy who says he thinks this sucks, either has unmatched or cheap pups, or simply doesn't ave it set up properly

My gear? I have a BC Rich Bich with passive Duncans and a Schecter 7 string with Duncan Blackouts. I have an EQ and a multipedal and I am currenly barrowing a no name combo from the guitar shop until my Dual Terror comes in. My own personal sound I can basically describe as more bassy versions of ZZ Top and Slayer (which I get from my EQ and the overdrive on my multi) Gotta know how to tweak your stuff to get all you can out of it

The amp doesn't come with a foot switch to engage the Beast portion and it doesn't come with an FX loop either.

So it's just a basic single channel amp designed for metal. Maybe that's a good thing as too many features in an amp I believe, dilutes the tone....
