@finfelagund I thought Boginskaya had the best compulsory beam routine. Silivas defintiely was the best overall in compulsories. Shushunova had the best compulsory vault and best everything vault until she fell on her ass on her 2nd vault in vault finals inexplicably.

Shushu attempted double twisting Yurchenko in VT EF, I´m not sure how well she had mastered this difficult vault, maybe she dared make some impress in EF, knowing that AA gold is already in her pocket and everything above that would be just a bonus and no fall could spoil that golden triumph.

Silivas showing her that inspite of beam maybe being her best appartus......she was human and could make errors!!! dont know why ppl turn this into a DS vs ES debate....someone even gets rather childish and calls Sushunova FAT??? errr I dont think so....lets hope that person doesnt judge gymnastics...Kristy Henrich anybody????

Daniela Silivas erred slightly in this routine because her form, amplitude and lines were exceptional and she was so meticulous. She put it all on the line and was not at all reluctant to fully immerse herself and produce a sensational routine.

Another Romanian hater. Silivas was an awesome gymnast who was totally robbed of the all around gold here to that fat cow Shushunova. She won 3 golds in event finals- bars, beam, and floor, and deservedly so, and made an embarassment of Shushunova's AA win since Shushunova won 0 EF golds and lost to Silivas on every EF, even vault.

Silivas landed her dismount superbly-Shushu by the same token landed her compulsory beam dismount with that strange, fugly butt- sticking-out low landing so as not to move her feet technique. She landed the same way in the AA on her so-called 10.00 vault.

I agree that that landing alone did not merit a 10. Had her next vault been of the same quality with a real stick, then the 10 would in my opinion have rightfully been hers.

For once I agree with you. Silivas is a horrible gymnast who deserves none of her titles and gold medals in her career, especialy at these Olympics. It is a joke she won 3 event final golds over the great Shushunova. The Romanians were just bitter about the team finals and all around were Russia and Shushunova rightfully beat them so they cheated to give Silivas all her event final golds.

The great Shushonova fell on her face in vault finals, and skidded on her ASS in her final Olympic performance. She's gotten over it by now-and so should you and the fact that you know Silivas was the BEST gymnast at the Seoul Olympic Games. You just can't stand that she's Romanian so you'll never admit it. Shushunova messed up in event finals mainly since she was satsfied since she already had the medal both she and Silivas wanted. The AA gold. Silivas's EF medals, which were helped by subpar Shushunova's performances, will never erase the pain of never winning a major AA title for her. Just like in 84 all Szabo's EF golds will never change that Mary Lou is the one most rembered as the AA Champion from those games.

Silivas should have been ahead of Shushu by at least .30 in compulsories. Shushu just wasn't in her league in this phase of the competition except for vault.

In compulsories Silivas screwed up her beam set as we see here. So Shushunova deserved to outscore her on vault and beam in compulsories, and Silivas on bars and floor. That means it was right they were about equal after compulsories. It does not matter if Silivas is better on compulsory beam, she didnt show it when it mattered.

It was an unfortunate style of the times. I prefer Dagmar Kersten's pretty curls. Silivas' perm looks overdone-pretty much toast. But she has pretty eyes and she got prettier as she got older.
