I used to think this was an Age of Empires Ripoff... then I spent like 400 hours playing Medieval 2 Total War, after which I remembered this game and downloaded it as well. The fight scenes are epic! The Naval battles are visually stunning, and unlike Age of Empires, the ships actually sink in a realistic manner with the sailors jumping off and everything hehe. And then there's the ground battles, I just saw one of my soldiers strangle someone with his rifle.. enough said ^^

@ggggllooooooo This game isn't like AOE or EE, only that you do build buildings and armies and such at the cities your "faction" has under your control. The game is more like "Risk" in a way. What you see here is battle between two armies who are fighting on a field that closely resembles the area on which they met on the world map. If you're talking about a siege attack on a city, then try Rome, Medieval, and/or Shogun Total War.

For medieval seiges try the Stronghold series. For battles AND bases, play Age of Empires or Empire Earth II.

@sware098 yup, but it'll be a bit laggy and some incredible bugs. I played napoleon total war and you know what: in one battle, I got a grenadier who got shot twice and stabbed three times but he still survive. ^^

i want to get this game but im not sure if i can here is my system spec.

Windows XP 2.53ghz and 768 MB of ram (Bear in mind i have Rome Total War installed to im willing to delete anything i need to to install this) and i can upgrade memory if i have to plus if your going to ask me what my video card is i dont know how to check (or sound card for that matter) i just really love this game and wanna get it so bad thanks.

@thedoakes13 768 MB ram? Dude, you got to upgrade your RAM man, also you will need a pretty strong graphic card too. But the game is very laggy and when you are defending a fort, your infantry miss a hell lot, so I would recommend you shogun 2 or napoleon total war!

@abayk47 it'll run even a bit laggy and bugs, I would recommend napoleon which would work perfectly, oh and you don't need to list all those things, you just need a main board, a chip, a graphic card and a ram to know if the game will work or not

Only of that guy had like 3 units of artillery on that hill and put a unit or 2 of Cossack.....then he woulda had a chance of winning because he could of easily cut down your calvary with canister shots and a volley of fire and your long riflemen could of been dominated by him moving his troops up 20 paces or so while his artillery continued to rain down upon the long rifle men.... Now he could of beat you anyway but fortifying a position on the high ground and use that as a base with his army

But maybe the rule was no art or something ? So he couldn't use cannons

At around 5:30 ish, the reason they charged into the infantry instead of the cavalry is because some of the enemy cavalry had gotten stuck inside the infantry formation, and as far as the game was concerned the cavalry unit was technically still there. It's an annoying bug, and it seems to be present in every total war game I've played. But oh well
