I've been doing a research project at college about gender identity disorder (aka transsexualism) and i gotta say, i only have admiration for Kim (not particularly her musical taste though). She is extremely brave to have gone so public with her disorder. She's pretty inspirational.
@dominiclord1 just thought I'd ask you a question dominic. Do you think (based on both your research and personal opinion) that the disorder is in the body or the mind? Do you think that something is "wrong" with the brain or that we're born with the "wrong" body?

The presence of testosterone in the womb before birth seems to be a factor. Also, the brain structures differ between males and females, and one theory suggests that somewhere along the line of development, the brain is wired incorrecly, so they have a female mind, but are born into a male body (or vice versa), thus displayng cross-gender behaviour.
@pianogod5150 Testosterone is also responsible for the development of the male genitalia (absence of this hormone results in female genitalia developing). Sometimes though, the foetus may develop into a female (external appearance) despite testosterone presence. This can result in 'tomboyish' behaviours and can lead to even stronger cross-gender behaviours. I hope this helps :)

I've been doing a research project at college about gender identity disorder (aka transsexualism) and i gotta say, i only have admiration for Kim (not particularly her musical taste though). She is extremely brave to have gone so public with her disorder. She's pretty inspirational.

@dominiclord1 just thought I'd ask you a question dominic. Do you think (based on both your research and personal opinion) that the disorder is in the body or the mind? Do you think that something is "wrong" with the brain or that we're born with the "wrong" body?

@pianogod5150 Personally, i'm open to both ideas. Each suggestion has research backing it up.
The presence of testosterone in the womb before birth seems to be a factor. Also, the brain structures differ between males and females, and one theory suggests that somewhere along the line of development, the brain is wired incorrecly, so they have a female mind, but are born into a male body (or vice versa), thus displayng cross-gender behaviour.

@pianogod5150 Testosterone is also responsible for the development of the male genitalia (absence of this hormone results in female genitalia developing). Sometimes though, the foetus may develop into a female (external appearance) despite testosterone presence. This can result in 'tomboyish' behaviours and can lead to even stronger cross-gender behaviours. I hope this helps :)

Kim, I'd like to hear you sing without your vocals being multi-tracked and WITH a real band behind you instead of all this techno crap that EVERYBODY else on the teen pop scene is doing today. I'll bet you could do it if you tried. I LIKE electronic music & really appreciate all that can be done with it, but, I think it'd help you to do something everybody else isn't doing. @raingirl53 Yes, she IS VERY lucky!!! She has parents that completely understand her and support her!! How many have that?? Not very many that I know of!! My friend, Carla's entire family (except for her brother and her daughter) abandoned her!! She told me that her dad used to beat the shit of her (him, at the time) to try to make a man out of her!! She went through a living hell most of her life!! She finally got bottom surgery done about 12 to 15 years ago, she's in her late 50's, now.

By the way, did you know that we are ALL female until about the 7th month of pregnancy? It isn't until then that the hormones kick in and make you whatever gender your genes say you should be, but, just because you're born of one gender, doesn't mean you ARE that gender!! Sie ist immer noch ein junge nur von ausen sieht sie aus wie eine frau.
Sie fühlt sich warscheinlich besser äuserlich eine freu zu sein.
Nur innen wird sie immer ein junge bleiben.
Vorallem da auch verschiedene körperteile bei einer frau mehr nerven hat als beim jungen. Sie wird niemals eine richtige vollständige frau sein.
