I have never understood what the hassle is about Topanga now replacing Shawn as Cory's best friend. Cory gets married and all of a sudden Topanga is his best friend instead of Shawn? What was the need for to have Shawn "replaced"?

I love this show so much!!! Cory & Topanga are very special to me, I once had a very similiar relation ship (dated my best friend almost all of my teenagehood), even some of our friends used to call us Cory and Topanga (we just missed a real Shawn), but it end up badly.
