Donovan and Dylan had such parallel careers, but Dylan was edgy enough and maybe tough enough to hang on thru the sixties, whilst Donovan kinda faded away. Sad, cause Donovan is the much better musician and singer (duh). Never heard this cut, but typically Donovanish, whimsical and smooth. Thanks for posting.
I have a bootleg tape cassette that has this song as a live thing combined with some other things. something about a beautician. and then a song that goes - little white flower why do you tremble so- etc. and it has ferryman's daughter. I do also love that song. I wish I could find it on vinyl.
This is from a vinyl bootleg. I have also posted 'Ferrymans's Daughter' from it. The 'little white flower' track is 'Come to me now joyfully', also on the vinyl. Sounds like it is the same one. It is called 'live 71'.
You know, the whole "I am a child of the universe" affectation not withstanding, he had a mesmerizing voice that I still enjoy hearing. It's uncomfortable to watch Dylan mocking him in "Don't Look Back".

I can listen to Donovan sing all day. I actually have a number of his songs. I absolutely love a song he wrote called "The Ferryman's Daughter"

I like 'The Ferryman's Daughter too'. I have a live version of it from a bootleg LP.
