That was what I thought, but the guy who told me had a pole position in a 500 GP so I believed him.....life becomes much easier without the extra 2 gearchanges......
far be it for me to doubt mr Mac but wasn't he talking about bikes with track gearing.Third gear on most sports bikes will take you over 120mph with stock gearing and you'd get no engine help into macintyres with that on.Anyhoo I backshifted on the approach and it worked out nicely.
