  • God, 1:59 is a pretty disturbing sight.

  • What's so bizarre about this is that there was a television news crew there filming for a story about nightclub safety.

  • So sad and terrible. To go from having a fun night out to fighting for your life in just a matter of seconds... Tragic. This is nightmarish stuff right here.

  • man those people screamin for help makes me really sad... i feel sorry for them.. ;(

  • This wasn't the first time there was a stampede to leave a Great White concert. But the stakes were much higher that night. It sucks that the fire started early in the show. I am sure most of the victims and survivors sued the nightclub. I wonder if the cost of the concert ticket was included in that.

  • This is why I avoid rock concerts even though I love rock. Because 99 % of all rockers are fucking retarded. I'm not saying the victims were retarded, but the people who organized the concert.

  • Oh my goodness, there were people on fire screaming :/ This was such a tragedy.

  • Jesus, I didn't know people had video form from inside. Scary shit right there.

  • My aunt and her friends were at there when it happened. They all survived that night. They were close to the doors when it happened so they were some of the first to get out. I'm so happy that she's still alive.

  • They were not required to have fire sprinklers, but they COULD have. Because they didn't have to pay for something, they didn't. They took a gamble on patrons' lives and lost big time. On another note, it looks like people stuck around once the fire started because the band was still playing. That stupid song kept on going.

  • @Bellarubia18 actually they WERE required to have sprinkler systems. The building had been rezoned for a different occupation from it's original use when it was built and according to code as an assembly occupation it was REQUIRED to have sprinklers. The code and probably the inspection was never carried out. That isn't something that is widely reported but in effect it COULD have had been prevented....if the codes were enforced.

  • The bravest human being would jump on the fire the second he saw it start burning. They call these kinds of people Heros because they risk their lives trying to save others.they don't care what happens except during the moment.

  • @brucebu The fire was started by pyrotechnics on stage near the drummer, by the time people realised it wasn't part of the act, the fire had spread too far. So how could anyone have possibly jumped on the fire?

  • @bunditu

I know. I was just being stupid. I have watched this video numerous time and it is scary how easily those people died. I was making an hindsight comment that someone could have dove on the pyros before they went off.....but alas the only time machine I know of is in the shop with a broken flux capacitor.

  • I cannot get the images from the video out of my head. When I go out now I make sure I am close to a way out. My heart breaks for those lost and their families. I will never forget the woman screaming for her husband..

  • Listverse Brought me Here..

  • Seeing moving silhouettes in the doorway area flames at 3:19 ish and on is going to haunt me for quite some time. Those poor people being roasted alive, it broke me down.

  • this is terrible

  • I don't think we should be watching this.

  • This video should make us realize that death is approaching each one of us.. And then the judgment of Heaven or Hell.. The Bible says that we have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory (sin is lying, stealing, looking with lust, disobeying your parents, hating, etc) And our sin deserves punishment in a real literal burning Hell. But God desires none to perish so God became a man (Jesus Christ) and lived a sinless perfect life that you and I could not live. And He was crucified at the age

  • @dandan688 of 33. He bore the wrath of God on Himself for our sins when He didn't deserve it. So now a perfect sin sacrifice was made on our behalf. He was buried and then on the third day rose again to prove who He was. We are the Hell deserving sinners, but Jesus is the savior who saves from all sin.. The Bible says if you repent (which means to change your mind about sin and turn away from it) and trust alone in what Jesus did on the cross for you, you will be completely forgiven.

  • @dandan688 jesus christ is just a title and was in no way the son of ANY god. The Romans were some of the best record keepers in history, yet they do not mention this 'jesus' once. The bible is nothing more than myth and rehashed stories that have been passed down and changed to suit the needs of the person/s rewriting said story.

  • @dandan688 fuck off you vulture

  • I just don't understand. When I was a child I was smart enough not to set off a firework in the house. How can any adult be so irresponsible and unaware of something so simple and potentially dangerous.

  • The camera man is smart.

  • the owners of the nightclub only paid @ $800k. seems not fair. they did not even have workers comp 4 workers died. on the night of the fire. they were required to have a sprinkler system , they did not have.

  • the camera man , worked for a tv station, they settled for 30 million with the tv station because he was impedeing escape. the fire accelerated to 1 ft per second

  • @hooters4life95

    How did he impede exactly?

  • Also, no one burned to death in this fire! Everyone died from smoke inhalation.

  • @jdt275 look into the flames just to the left of the bus at 3:09 you will see a person standing in the doorway of the club running out on fire. taking that into account, (a few) but some of the people had to of died from flames.

  • @CJsoccer4 Very true.

  • @jdt275 So not true..

  • see when the Puritans came to these lands in the 16th century they prayed 2 GOD 2 purify the lands around them...& how else does GOD do this????....with fire of course.....im not tryin 2 be an A-hole but i know what it feels like 2 go threw this kinda thing...my house burned down in 2009....all my things gone..thank God no people were hurt.....fire is a painfull way 2 go out thow....

  • U think this is bad!??...... wait till we all see what Hell is like in the after life...

  • thats horrible =[

  • OMG the they must have felt. That tragedy should and could have been prevented.

  • That camera man should be held liable for not helping people in the crammed doorway, instead he /she showed people trapped and then got a nice shot of the sigh that said GREAT WHITE. three feet away. put that recording device down after you got your shot...you released it when the firefighters were there which does not make sense.

  • @hanklove4ever What the hell was he supposed to do?

  • @hanklove4ever, It would have been impossible to help anyone in that fire. the shear force of 100 people trying to get out of that door way and the pressure of it would be impossible to do anything. People were in panic and you can not control that. Instead I think he made an awesome video for everyone to learn from. ALWAYS look for a second exit. There was a total of 3 in that building that only a handful of people went to.

  • Instead of taking a video that cameraman should have helped those people.

  • @rojenghale How?

  • A few days before this happened there was a fatal fire at a Chicago nightclub. Ch 12 Prov. wanted to do a piece about nightclub fires and how concertgoers could get out in such an event--and Jeff Derderian and his brother just happened to own the Station. So they sent a cameraman there. A NY Times report said Derderian claimed they didn't know the band would be using the pyro sparklers.

  • I think there were 400 people jammed into the place--100 died. Most only knew of the entrance and started to head out that way--there were other exits and some or most may have been locked but I think one back exit was prob. open (not there, but saw reports etc.) I have driven by the site of the place and noticed how small the plot of land is--you have 400 people jammed into a tiny nightclub and then launch pyrotechnics...

  • Yesterday was my first time to see this in full. It is the most horrifying video I have ever seen (and heard). The scene at the front door is the worst, as I am sure is the case with most of us. I was most moved by those who were helping people get free at the door. EVERYTHING inside of you is telling you to run from that awful scene - to run from the fire, the smoke, the screaming, the helplessness, the panic, and the overwhelming terror - yet they stand firm and do what they can to help.

  • This event still gives me nightmares and has almost literally killed me from sleep apnea. I just happened to be temporarily living in Boston when this had to happen.

  • Those screams...

  • What were they thinkin?! Those sparks dont belong indoors... I guess thats why their asses got sued.. horrible

  • damn it sucks i heard that alot of the emergency exits were locked so that people wouldnt sneak in. in retrospect not a good idea.

  • After watching this, whenever I go into a building, I take note of all the exits I see.

  • look at the fat guy with the pony tail not helping pull people out of the door... 2:06 scumbag

  • @ijustwannabeadrummer

There is a difference between being a scumbag and not knowing what to do. Perhaps he realized that a guy his size can't just climb hop a rail and start hurling people out, and that the narrow stairs/ramp/door area was already crammed. It also looked like he was going for the hoses when he walked out of frame. In any case, there were 400 people there and it's pretty harsh to say something so scathing about a single person who wasn't an obvious hero for 11 seconds of video.

  • @Rotard12a perhaps you are right and i am quick to judge...i dunno i have served in various organizations were you are quick to react....was that you in the video?..look at the other people moving quickly reacting.. people are screaming...he is trying to peak thru the rails.(let me watch this video again)....sorry after further review this guy is a scumbag too me.. perhaps he walked to mcdonalds...

  • Comment removed

  • Dang, did anyone else see that guy run out towards the end on fire?!

  • @tuxedomartini holy shit

  • i don't care if it's a fuckin napkin, the second i see something on fire in a club i'm out of there.

  • @TronPancake Yeah. It was pretty amazing seeing the camera (and its holder) drifting back toward the exit before anyone else even realized what was happening.

  • @Corroxide You're a sick fuck. Your own fire is waiting.

  • Camera man could have helped someone?

  • @manateepunch how? those people in the door were stuck and he wasnt going to be able to get them out. you need to think about your own survival before others.

Most of these deaths could have been avoided if they had taken a basic fire safety course, i would suggest the same to you as it really opens your eyes.

  • I think 1:57 is the most horrifying shot, when you can see that people have been trampled, and the bodies are creating a human wall to the outside, trapping everyone in. They can't move because of the sheer force of all the people on the inside pushing on them.

    Brutal.

  • @iceman8067 I think it's more frightening this is only the 4th worst club fire in US history. Read stories of the Iroquois Theatre Fire of 1903, shits terrifying.

  • really shouldnt have watched this ... hearing people screaming for real is actually quite scarring to the soul :/

  • The screams doesn't affect me anyhow, I screamed like that when I was in a fire accident.

  • @Corroxide ur fucking disrespectful

  • damn, i don't think i should've watched this, hearing the screams from real people, i'm sick

  • the camera man was a fireman, so he knew right away, just been on a course about fire hazards today and got told to look at this, poor fuckers like rip

  • What an absolute nightmare. Anyone that makes fun of this deserved to be beaten to death.

  • this is incredible

  • Well, it doesn't get much more Rock & Roll than that.

  • I would have pulled as many out of the dorrway as possible... WOW!!

  • did they die?

  • @LCRPRain around 100 persons died that night. Another 200 were injured. this was sad to watch just now. IT could have been avoided had the people continued to move outside as orderly as they began.

  • @Steffonned The fire spread so quickly that people could not possibly get out the front door fast enough. Unfortunately, most went for the front door and not the three other exits, which as you can see from the camera shots as the fire rages were empty. People fell and were trampled at the front door, piling up like cordwood until the door was completely clogged and no one else could get out. Took only another minute or so inside for the people now trapped to die of smoke inhalation.

  • person on fire at 3:13

  • @kittykatro You are a sick person with a sick sense of humor. I hope you feel good about yourself, you retarded piece of scum.

  • Great footage! Thanks!

  • Fucking fireworks in a small place like this..... IDIOTS!

  • Comment removed

  • Dear god, that's just...terrible.

I feel like I'm going to be sick.

  • @Boxsaur Get well!

  • @Boxsaur

Um, you can't do that on the internet

  • @Atreides22222 ಠ_ಠ

Obviously I meant getting sick in real life, not online.

  • ALGUIEN HABLA ESPAÑOL?

    xd

  • 1:47. Thought it was a zombie

  • This is horrible. At one point I actually saw a person walking out of the building and they were on fire.

  • Lets shoot millions of sparks out with 8-10 foot ceilings. That shouldn't be something you need to learn from, it should be commonsense.

  • One of the most disturbing videos I've ever seen.

  • This might be the most horrifying and disturbing thing I have ever seen. Just thinking about the human crush in the doors and people trapped inside, oh the horror.

  • this is gonna give me nightmares. r.i.p.

  • Oh my God! TERRIFYING! After that happened everywhere i go i make sure i know the fire exits...hearing those screams makes me so sad for them, just aweful!

  • horrible tragedy, excellent camera work.

  • The worst part about it is that people (understandably) panicking and shoving each other to the ground in a desperate attempt to save their own lives actually got themselves killed. I'm not blaming them. I'm just pointing out how tragic it really is. Everyone in that building should have been able to get out alive. The fire spread quickly but it wasn't -that- fast.

Reminds me of that stampede at Walmart during a sale except that was unforgivable callousness, not panic.

  • @YuffieGVxx The smoke was a thick, hot mass, making it impossible to see or breathe. Watch the NIST Re-creation w/o sprinklers. Imagine that in a dark, packed club of people who'd been drinking. It may have been 5m before the club was engulfed in flames, but it took ~1m for the alarm to sound. Less than 1m later the smoke had engulfed the club. It really -was- that fast. If they had a sprinkler system, as legally required, many more would have survived. -That's- the tragedy.

  • Imagine if he didnt spend the whole time filming..... maybe he could have saved one persons life?

  • @docko84 He did. He, apparently, kicked out a window and someone crawled out.

  • that camera man got out really easy

  • @backlikevertabrae flames visible at :17.. major flames up to ceiling at :26.. camera man starts moving about :33 as the flames are rolling into the ceiling.. 15 seconds later and he might not of got out. They were reporting on the potential danger at clubs got his feet moving while the fans of the band thought it was part of the show. Complete tragedy. I agree with the sentiment about seeing so much as a napkin burning, but that's all in hindsight.

  • Great music :)

  • WOW that is some crazy shit, the fire started so fast. It was almost a raging inferno by the time the camera guy got to the exit. Let this be many lessons to ya, fire doesnt go well inside confined spaces. When some one says no, dont do it even if your a rebellious dipshit. When you panic you die and possible kill many others.

  • I remember a week after this I was in a record store with my friend and I pick up a Great White CD and say "I hear they really burn the the house down live." Needless to say the customer near us was not pleased at my little joke. Obviously it was to soon.

  • @DeathByBlunderbuss obviously.

  • wow that fire was very quick to spread...

  • thats so fucked up looking at 2 minutes. god dam

  • Those screams and the panic of ACTUAL people caught in the fire are the most haunting and terrifying things I've ever heard. What's messed up is that some people caught on camera when the stage set on fire actually died and we saw the last things they saw, all the flames and smoke. This shook me and made me cry.

  • @ 0:46

    "OOO, that's not good."

    appropriate.

  • u.s. bbq is hard!

    good jpb!

  • アホやな・・・死んだらええねん。

  • This was very painful to watch. I cannot imagine the panic.

  • Did anyone see someone on fire near the end? He exits the building at about 3.12 ish then hurries left of screen where it looks like people are trying to put him out. How scary. :( I hope that person managed to survive...

  • at 1:31 I can hear a woman saying where's my husband

and at 1:34 I can hear screaming. that really made scared :"((

  • That's scary. People really need to learn how to calmly evacuate a building instead of piling out like those poeple trying to get out of the door (or was it a window?). I know they're scared and probably werent thinking but I mean, it would've saved a LOT more people.

  • @kalinzxgor3 the sad thing is when people get scared and are on survival or get the fuck out mode, they don't think straight anymore. I'm sure I too would do the stupidest things in cases like that. =(

  • people have to stop asking for likes, YES LISTVERSE BROUGHT ME HERE. but that doesn't mean this isn't serious...

  • @96jortega Shut up.

  • @inuloveskagome You shut up. These ppl died so I could get thumbs up.

  • omg This is a horrifying video. Those poor, poor people. My heart goes out to them all. :'(

  • soooo crazy

  • So sad poor people they were there to have fun R.I.P to them all

  • crap! put this video "like" is horrendous people

  • crap! put this is horrendous

  • God...seeing them all stuck in the door plus hearing the screams from people inside...something you would never be able to forget. That was such a tragedy.

    R.I.P. to the victims. :/

  • this is terrible i feel bad for watching this :/

  • It blows me away that in this video, 100 people died that night. So sad. I heard about another similar incident where a bar locked some emergency doors with chains because people were using them to sneak in. Unreal.

  • Why is this asshole filming it and not helping those people

  • Its all intense. But the person running out on fire at 3:15 is well, one of the lucky ones? Did they survive massive burns...

  • is the man engulf with fire in 3:11 survived? i wonder.

  • You ever been in this situation? You cannot pull them out until people behind them stop pushing, everyone is panicking and trying to get out that it's like a plug from the inside.

Lots of things led to this, never any one cause to why all those people died. The Band's pyro, poor building design, poorly trained staff and the fact that people are ignorant and don't want to prepare for events like this.

  • @lamborginin Are idiots people that can't spell? Like you?

  • The cameraman is such a loser. Put the camera down and drag out people!

  • @Remstrom i was thinking the same thing...but you have to be in the situation to judge

  • @dangsthurt shut the fuck up already. ur in every video commenting the same shit.

  • @dangsthurt Thumbs up if FlameHorse is the greatest on Listverse!

  • @dangsthurt i just keep likin this comment

  • @dangsthurt shut the fuck up already, damn!

  • @dangsthurt Ah shaddap.

  • Comment removed

  • It's too bad more ppl didn't go out the back where most of the band members fled. I've read there was a man standing next to that door telling ppl to go exit at the front where they came in. 2 men wanted to leave where the band did and a man (employee?) told them to go to the front. 1 of the men listened (found dead) but the other didn't. Not 5 seconds later the employee said to the customer "Ok, let's go". They were the last to use it. If you're standing by a viable exit DON'T LEAVE IT.

  • Some fact that aren't mentioned in the comments: the emergency door exits at the back/side of stage were "chained" locked so that people wouldn't sneak in. People couldn't get out back there. That's why the only exit point was the front. Also all the power went out and people couldn't see in the dark from no lights and smoke. Lastly, one of the band members did die...

  • The person shooting this was smart and got the heck out of there quick

  • @tvrntvrn Becuase the fire started in the MIDDLE and sealed off the front and the back. Most people made it out the front until it got jammed up and those people stuck in the doorway and everyone else inside choked from the smoke and burned. And the people in the back but a few didn't even make it out, the fire spread the them in seconds.

  • @tvrntvrn The smoke probably killed them all. They choked to death, then burned.

  • I took all of 2 minutes for most of them to go from happy to dead. Incredible tragedy, and so stupid.

  • The screams.

  • @xx2n23 no. by 'they' i wasnt referring to anyone in particular actually. I was sayin it is fruitless to blame anyone as pointing fingers is not going to educate people as to how to prevent this happening in the future.

  • @1.59 The people at the open entrance could not get out because they were pressed down in lying postions by the people at the back. It was so close yet so far. In such a desperate situation, it was everyone for himself/herself. I was wisely taught from young to avoid crowds if possible, and especially indoor crowds for fear of being caught in such life/death situations. It is just not worth risking one's life to be caught in such a situation whatever the reason. May they rest-in-peace.

  • From so many incidents happening all over the world, it looks like nightclubs are the altars of human sacrifices to the devil. After all the " fun & enjoyment ", people will need to die as human sacrifices for these nightclubs to appease the devil. If the cause is not due to internal fireworks, it is electrical wires overheating or even arson.

  • at 1:30 theres a woman screaming "wheres my husband"

    holyshit

  • Owned

  • Too bad the entire band didn't burn to death. It was their fault.

  • @fraulucelle their guitarist died.

and it WASN'T their fault. they had no idea about the pyrotechnics, it was their manager who set them off.

  • "This is the best rock n roll show EVE...

OH FUUUUCK I'M ON FIIRRE! THROW THE HORNS MAN THROW UP THEM HORNS!!!!"

  • I get very sad when I watch this video.

I pray to God for these unfortunate people of this terrible night. That He has saved their souls. First of all, this video deserves respect. Respect for the souls of those who died so tragically. I always liked this band, and I am sad that such a thing happened in one of his shows. The owners of nightclubs should always think in such situations to prevent such tragedies.

And what makes me even sadder to see people with so little respect about this..

  • Guy with the camera is luck, he saw the flames before most of the other people and missed the stampede

  • @liamliam123456 *lucky

  • you hear the singer mutter something just as they stop playing at around the 0:49 second mark, think its "wow... thats not cool" or something along those lines, no shit sherlock giving the go ahead for pyrotechnics inside a club was a ridiculously stupid decision.

  • @raff23 He said "Wow... That's not good" and no need to talk shit about the singer he didn't even know there was going to be pyrotechnics the band manager was the one who set them off.

  • At the 0:42 mark, you can see someone pointing and motioning to get out. Personally, I would like to know what really happened to Ty Longley. Was he stampeded or did he suffocate or what?

  • this is so sad. I live in sweden and was attending a fire training today. They showed us these footages and we all felt so bad watching it. The screams of the dying people is heartbreaking. RIP and may this NEVER happen again!
