  • Never been to Scotland, but this looks a lot like Dublin.

  • What's a "Shite"?

  • Same word as shit, but it sounds more awesome under specific circumstances.

  • do you live in holland How can i get over there and find work and live ? any ideas how i start? Fooking fed up with Scotland and the shite weather and the buckfast drinking wankers!

  • get your qualifications up prepare a cv and start doing net browsing would be a good first step.

personally i love the weather. just my 2 cents

  • You love the weather in Scotland?

i decided to go to OZ instead now leaving January the 10th 1 year of party and work !

  • rofl i fucking hate that train... "This is falkirk high... this train is bound for edinburgh waverley... the next stop.... is haymarket" yadayadayada! why do people even stop at haymarket anyways! :S

  • Amsterdam airport is sooo brilliant! It's Mah-hoosive XD

    Love the breakfast :P

Love Edinburgh so much. It's a beautiful city <3333

  • you forgot to add posh yet friendly

  • We get some right proper creeps up the Royal Mile eh? lol

  • You made it in and out of Glasgow in one piece? Thats extraodinary! I live just a half hour away from there, it's now known by some as 'knife city'... since unfortunatly there are alot of stabbings in that place... Endinburugh is a cool place depending on the time of year you visit.

Have you ever heard of West Dumbertonshire? Thats my home town, I grew up in Paisley.

Some good footage you have here! Oh and the train intercom still stays the same after many years lol!

  • Hes scotish...why would the irish stab him???? now if he was English then maybe lol

  • Oh, this is all Scottish lol! I don't know where ya got Irish from O_o

You have your Neds (or more wider known 'chavs') that just commit crimes, for what reason, I don't know though a majority of the crimes that take place in Glasgow were Knife Stabbings which there were quite alot of giving it's sorta nickname.

  • I was there for quite some time @ Lanarkshire

Never had a knife pointed at me though.

  • Yeah, idk when or how the stabbings occour, but it's certainly a place you should lurk about on your own. Though Glasgow does have it's plus points, a good choice of stores, a gaming centre that sometimes holds it's own small events, a couple of night clubs etc. Depends how you look at it all.

The major down side to Glasgow is basically it's reputation. Take the show 'Mock the Week' for example, they give plenty of examples lol! In all, if your not by yourself, Glasgow can be a pleasant place.

  • ah i have on complain though...

    need more basketball~

xD which part u at mate?

  • Have you ever heard of West Dunbartonshire? I stay in Renton as part of the West Dumbartonshire Community. It's a half hour drive from Glasgow, 15 minutes from Clydebank.

Thats about as accurate as I can get lmao! I can't belive I'm freely giving out my location on the Internet, though folk won't know my exact adress <_<

  • lol i'll bring a knife xD kidding

i'm at argyle =D lovely place. but am out of the country for another half a year or so

  • Arghhhh! 04:46! It burns!

  • Are you disrespecting the castle? These have been around many years, it's a wonder they are still in one piece as many years ago when there were wars there were bombings at Clydebank, just 20 minutes away from where I live now. Glad I wasn't living there many years ago lol! Else I would have probably have died. Oh and about those castles, some have been around since the Medievil Era of time.

  • welcome in holland!!!! mark

  • Yum

  • BISHOPBRIGGS FTW!!!

  • Another great vid.

And I'm pretty sure that was Judas Priest I heard during the roller thing... SOunded alot like Halford to me. :3

  • Sounds like Bobby Blitz Ellsworth from Overkill to me. It is a bit more lyrically in Halford's style though. IDK b/c I don't listen to either much but they can both hit and sustain those high notes, yeah.

  • Nah yeah you're right. Screaming for Vengence '82...it's Rob's. I think I just thought it was something off O-kill's Power In Black. 4give my interruption.

  • 5 stars

  • What is your logic?????!!

  • 5:14

I bet that kid enjoyed the view

And during the rollerblade scene, anyone know the name of the song?

  • x-cellent coverage!

  • Did they have the whiskey flavored shortbread? That's the stuff noms are made of!

  • Great! I'm surprised you didn't sample the wares in Amsterdam but I guess you didn't have enough time. Cheers! Lol!

  • I hope we get to see a haggis in part 2! Part 1 gets 5 Sean Connery action figure stars!

  • yeah, I give it 5 proclaimers tribute bands.

  • Or 5 Bobby Burns haggis stars . . . :->

  • there's some haggis in my freezer

  • Next thing you know, airlines will charge you $300.00 if you want to ride in the pressurized part of the cabin . . .

  • 5 leftover Irn Brus out of five.

  • 5 violent dikes on wheels out of 5

  • I love your work. My ancestors came from Scotland to America in 1703 The Bruce family! Thanks for sharing your trip.

  • Thanks Mark - enjoyed this. Haven't been home in about 3 years now. In the pre-internet days, seeing a packet of Walkers shortbread in a Manhattan deli was one of my few connections with home. Cheers!

  • 5 KLM planes <3

  • lovely

  • 5/5 sleeves of imported shortbread

  • your lucky u werent waiting for a train in falkirk the week before, mine was delayed by 3hours! all because there was a bit of flooding in edinburgh...you think they would be used to flooding considering the amount of rain we get. haha hope u have fun mark! il keep an eye out for u x x

  • Bloody brilliant as usual.

Is the weather in Scotland ever anything but shite? Srsly :D

It all looks lovely and you make me miss the place even more! I want to go back, 'cause Scotland rocks.

I give it a five, as in five plates of Haggis, or perhaps five men in kilts. XD

  • it was pretty sunny for two days in edinburgh.... and then the deluge.

  • Scads better than your average coworker's holiday videos, eh.

  • haha i knew mark was scottish! his accent isnt fake!

  • looks like a blast

  • I've been going to the Edinburgh Festival alot this summer. I live outside Edinburgh. Best time of year to come to visit! Hope you're having fun!

  • Ah... video wouldnt load in any futher than the glasgow bit, Now I feel like a fool

  • Your in glasgow? How long are you planning on staying?

  • glasgow is awesome. ive been there so many times. it rains alot tho

  • nice

  • Sweet, I always wanted to go to Scotland.

  • god bless scotland, land of my blood.

  • I missed you by a hairs width at the cow last week, I made up for it on the Royal Mile and caught it on camera. All the best.

  • YAY I SCOTISH!!1

  • The little kid checking out the stilt walkers ass was great.

  • This video reminded me of the old skits from Mike Myers on SNL where he would yell out: "IF IT'S NOT SCOTTISH... IT'S CRAAAAP!!"

Hope you're having fun in Scotland, Mark.

  • dude welcome home glasgow is getting rough btw stay the hell out of here save yourself !

5 out of 5 shitty airports

  • Thats awesome I just came from a roller derby game today.

  • One day it will be an olympic sport.... ok, maybe not....

  • Haha, the weather's always shite in Scotland! The only place I know where it rains horizontally!!

  • haha atleast KLM offers happy endings. Last summer when I went to Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival, Ryan Air herded us onto this tiny plane, no assigned seating, it was crazy. Edinburgh is a great city though, I can't wait to go back again; the Fringe Festival was amazing.

  • Thankfully I was spared the Easy Jet stuff, although the truth is the KLM flight was 11 hours from SF and no seatback TV in coach! and my reading light was broken!

  • Fringe Festival - best time to visit Edinburgh

  • I frikin LOVE Scotland. My best pal is from Glascow, er actually Airdrie. If I am not good she threatens to push me off the train in Easterhouse. We love to holiday in Fr. William. I do love Edinburgh and the beauty of the buildings and people. I have been very lucky and have not run into much rain on my holidays. I was hoping you were going to have a proper breakfast with the black and white pudding and tomato. I even enjoy a wee bit of the haggis. Scotland ROCKS!!!!! Great vid.

  • I did have haggis at my sister's house, but no fry-ups

  • (re: corset girl on left at the end: gee, I wondered what Sheena Easton had been up to)

It's Mark's sheer hotness that makes these videos, I tell ya :x* (cat whisker kisses)

  • The morning train was taken...

  • Jerry Sadowitz AND Jim Bowen - fantastic - all we need to complete this trinity is Bing Hitler.

Oh, yes, I forgot - Bing Hitler now has a latenight show on American television, so he's probably too busy.

  • I did actually go to see Jerry Sadowitz the second night in Edinburgh.... much as i remember him from my youth...

  • Was he just as er 'cutting edge' and 'out there' as he was? I remember him being pretty radical back then.

  • Wow, it's Burningman with no dust storms. Kitten on the keys from SF. is in Edinburgh now.

Speaking of Burningman, are you going this year? If not, and you're home...I CHALLENGE you to go to the Pleasanton Highland games. Muahahaha *evil laugh*

  • I am not going to Burning Man but have a note from my doctor ecusing me from highland games...

  • Hehee, thats a good physician! If he can get me one of those cannabis cards too, I may have to get his number

  • That was awesome! And you were in Amsterdam in my country haha. Hope you liked it.

  • I saw all of... the airport, basically.

  • Oh well, then you must come back some time :)

  • You're a funny guy and I LOVE the accent. It's such a turn on ;oP

  • Cheers

  • This was great. Loved the street performers. Thanks for sharing!

  • Chicks on skates, just your kinda thing ;)

  • Can you skate then?

  • That's not the traditional sunday morning breakfast! :P What you should've had was a fry up!

  • You know i didnt even have potato scones on this trip... what an oversight!

  • Diet irn bru sucks...get the real stuff Oo''

Didn't people give you weird looks cause you were talking into a camera on the train?

  • The regular Irn Bru is too sweet... and I am sure i got no more weird looks than usual - of course i was looking into the camera at the time so it's hard to telll...

  • Is that Judas Priest I hear? No really, is it? I give this video five diet irn brus.

  • Solo Rob Halford....

  • A DIET Irn bru? You pansy.

  • Non-diet Irn Bru is too sickly sweet for my jaded palate...

  • Ooo, better stop eating me then.

    (jaded palate indeed...or...jaided... :-p

Look, I've missed being obnoxious, ok?!

  • MMMMMMMM... Cheese! =-d

  • WOOHOO! Lookit all that airport merchandise! And yes, Bratz dolls are the worlds greatest role models for prostitution.

Gawd what I wouldn't give to be able to afford a trip to the UK! Sadly, I must remain an unworldly small town American. =-(

  • It was sort of work related... AMsterdam airport is enormous.... i didnt even film all the cheese...

  • Your sister looks nice. :)

  • I'm sure she'll be happy to hear that...

  • Aaaahhh memories of being stuck at Schipol..

  • Hey Mark

Thanks so much for bringing us along on your vacation. It is soo beautiful there, even without the sunshine.. lol What was that last awesome gothic building you we're at? It was insane, i totaly love the accents :) But of course you already knew that, hahah. If your already home i hope you had a GREAT trip, but if your still out there, Have a freaking blast man!! :D

  • Bagpipes. Gorgeous ladies with accents in strange costumes. Alcohol. Shortbread. Street performers. Deliciously wet and icky weather. Haggis. Mmmmmm...

...what the hell am I doing in Texas?

  • Mark, rally your fans in Glasgow. Where, what time? :D

  • I agree with LikeAPossum! Rally your Glagow fans!

  • My Dad's in Edinburgh at the moment and shares your view of the weather :)

  • Scotland is da best!!! who cares about weather when it's heavenly beautiful place on earth

  • where were rent boy, sick boy, spud? and why didn't you have a square go with begbie? sorry, been readin' too much welsh lately :D

  • Awesome breakfest!

  • Scotland rocks! Glasgow, not so much...

  • 4 hours to kill in Amsterdam? You definitely could have made a quick trip to The Bulldog!

  • Nice...

  • street performers totally own me.

if, at some point, i give up on my dreams, i'm getting myself a freaky talent and a little bucket for change.

    ...

makes me want to go to scotland.

    <3 cool video.

  • DPwyv.

  • I just now realized how awesome your accent is Mark.

  • Mark, you're awesome!

Can't wait for part two! :)

  • you look badass on a motorbike.

also can anyone tell me the song at 2:40 it's awesome

  • Billy Connelly had a series called "the world tour of New Zealand" so don't you dare think you're original mister! Maybe Scotish people think alike...

  • Roller Derby Girls Kick Ass!

  • Very cool... looking forward to part two.

  • I'm going to have to edit it now i suppose...

actually it will feature some very special guests...

  • It's great to see you back. I'd wondered where you'd been off to.

  • I'm still about from time to time...

  • I'm oddly nostalgic for Scotland now - and you have the best.job.ever... I was having the time of my life in NOLA with your wife at the time, so it's all good. Aligators, lightening, washboard jazz and men in hot pants... yeah!

  • She never mentioned the hot pants!

  • Don't count out hosting a travel show. Your editing and moving camera is very watchable. As travel vids are, they can sometimes go wrong (ie slow - boring) I may have learned a few things.

So if you DO host a travel show, you can call it "It's all shiite." p.s I loooved Scotland. Have fun.

  • I made a special effort not to let it drag on forever... hence, PART 2...

  • One of the oddest things I remember from my trip through Scotland: learning that there was an actual debate about burying power lines in the country side... for aesthetics. I remember thinking to myself "Wow, I'm not in North America anymore" Not that people don't care about stuff like that here- but- well, people don't care about stuff like that here.

  • I remember asking a clerk in Scotland what was in the Haggis and they just laughed. And oh, Scotland and America aren't that different, for instance, they have Haggis and we have Politicians. Pretty much the same thing. :)

  • Gr8 to watch one of ur vids again

  • Fantastic Mark did you try the free Haggis?

  • I had some haggis at my sister's house...

  • LOL! This is awesome!! XD

  • hey amy

  • Hey! How are you? =D

  • looks like loads of fun---nice vid.

  • i demand more roller derby footage in future videos.

  • The cutting room floor is awash with rollergirls...
