  • Shame we can't keep them as pets. Should have marsupials as pets instead of Cats and Dogs.

  • @89Djm bettong is look similar to kangarro it Marsupials small like rabbit u can kept it as pet..my friend from Australia told me..i dont know that was bettong i guess a true kangroo, wallaby etc..

  • i love going to rottnest- i go about once or twice a month and i always see the same quokka with a piece of his left ear bitten out :/

  • Does anyone know what noise they make?

  • Wish they would try and get them to adapt to other environments so we could have quokkas everywhere <3

  • no quokkas should stay famous for only being on Rottnest island- at least i think Rottnest is the only home for Quokkas- but anyway we get more tourist attractions with our beloved quokkas.

  • There are a few remaining populations in the south west of the state. The quokka population on the mainland has dropped due to habitat destruction and introduced pests such as foxes.

  • @MishMash987 mate there's also a branch of quokkas up at geraldton

  • Rottnest aint that great a place, last time i went (1997) it was just dirt and rock with a few tree's and this wonderfull ittle animal that hopped around and let you pat it. Other wise its just a hole. ( Fun Fact - Rottnest was originaly called Ratsnest when it was discoverd. )

  • Altho there is some buety in the land if you look for it.

  • Its a wonderful place to visit agatha. Australia has lots of endangered and rare animals.

  • I wanna come there to see a quokka <3

  • o i see

  • is it yours like a pet?

  • no you r not allowed to keep them for pets. They r wild they live on the island. However they r use to people & like to beg for food.

  • cool what do they eat?

  • they are herbivours, mostly grass and some plants. but they will eat bread and rubbish food but its not good for them.

  • cool what is that?

  • thanks for the comment. Its a quokka. A small australian marsupial that only lives on rottnests Island off the coast of Western Australia.
