@LiveFastDiarrhea I have to admit that I'm really happy overall. I thought this might be one of those videos that didn't pass 100 hundred views! lol I'm sure I'll make more list videos. It happens whenever I think about something specific that I haven't seen a million times before. Also, I have to be able to actually make the list. That's hard sometimes! :) That's a big part of why I never did one for slasher movies. Never was able to narrow it down.... Sounds great man! :)
@JohnWayneColt45 I'm only saying this because you asked. heh I really thought it was a bit of a misfire. I just didn't enjoy it. I have only seen it once though, and it was a long time ago. I'm willing to give it another chance if I run across it on TV or something. Wouldn't be the first time the years between had changed my mind!
@XtroTheMutilator although i agree its not one of his best.I am a huge fan of westerns, gangster movies and Walter Hill and this one is a mix of all three. Its definately a very watchable move although fake at times.
My top 3 fav besides Warriors (of course) is Hard Times for sure!! Followed by The Long Riders and Southern Comfort.
@JohnWayneColt45 Interesting point! I like those genres myself. Strange how some things hit you and some just... don't. Also, I didn't know it was a new take on Yojimbo until I was actually watching it. That caught me off guard a little, to put it mildly! Nice choices!
@XtroTheMutilator found this video whilst trying to find interviews with Walter Hill, im told that there's a Region 2 version of extreme prejudice with almost feature length interview with Walter were he discusses said film and others, Aside from that i wanted to also mention that i didn't think last man standing was a good film, saw it once on its release and thought 'meh' until it was shown on T.V last year and in all honesty thought it was pretty good on re-watch and worth a buy.
Xtro I was so impressed by your last vid that I went out and bought Driver, Southern Comfort and Tresspass for £23. Your judgement was spot on! I've now ordered Hard Times and the Warriors.
the man made some GREAT films.. I still need to see alot of his work.. but the few I've seen where excellent.. I agree with The Driver, in fact I still need to get it on DVD... it's been YEARS since I've seen The Warriors, but it's safe to say it still rules!! I'll bite and do a top 10 video.. just don't know what to do it on... give me a few days and I'll cook something up... cheers buddy
@cultvideomassacre He definitely did! The Warriors holds up. In a lot of ways I think it's gotten better over the years. Hasn't lost anything at all, only gained. The further we get away from a time when something like The Warriors could get made and be first run, the more special I think it becomes. Not that it was so bad to begin with! Nice! Can't wait to see what you do. :)
walter hill is a great director i recently got a region 2 boxset dedicated to this master which includes the films :the warriors, southern comfort, johnny handsome, extreme prejudice, the long riders and the driver it was a bargain at 17.99 uk pounds.
@19jimbaland Thank you! Honestly, I think I like The Warriors the way it was a little better because of the the way The Baseball Furies scenes play and because I'm probably just used to it. I feel like it was a huge personal victory for Hill to get to make a Director's Cut though.
@LiveFastDiarrhea Thanks buddy! Glad you enjoyed it. Loved your response video also!
Nice! I'm excited to see what the topics are! I am thinking about doing one more top 10 but not sure yet. It's fun to break it up a little every now and then.
@AussieRoadshow Your Mom sounds cool. heh I'm excited about bringing some attention to The Driver! I hope if you see you really like it. Strong movie. I never did play The Warriors game! It's strange, I sort of wanted to but I guess I thought there is just no way they could get it right for me or something. heh I never even tried it. Kind of happy to hear you say it sucked in a way. The Blu is very nice! Solid. Thank you!
Great video forgot how many great films walter directed..Love Warriors,Southern Comfort and Extreme Prejudice also 48 hrs is a claasic imo..Thanks for reminding me may have to hunt some out now.
@milleroi Me neither! Hope it finally happens soon. I enjoyed the second one a lot. Just didn't have the same magic as the first one so it doesn't make the list. Might have been number 11 or 12 though if I had kept going.
Love the intro man!! Great tunes in the background and you hit a homerun paying homage to Walter Hill...I've seen some of his best, but I haven't seen all of them. I've seen Cross Roads (totally awesome), Southern Comfort (a hidden gem of a movie), "Willem Defoe - Streets of Fire I have not seen", but now I've got too! Hard Times with Charles Bronson rocks man...he was a trail blazer and he fit those roles PERFECTLY! Well-done video my friend!
@MidnightScreamFest Thanks! I have a couple of outros so I thought I should have an extra intro to switch to every now and then. heh If you can appreciate Willem Defoe's brand of odd then you will probably LOVE Streets of Fire. There's a lot happening in that movie anyway. Some cool tunes also. Bronson in a Hill movie was just meant to happen man. Like destiny. heh Thank you sir!
1. Extreme Prejudice, 2. Southern Comfort, 3. Last Man Standing, 4. Johnny Handsome, 5. Hard Times, 6. Warriors, 7. Trespass, 8. Long Riders, been forever since i watched 48 hours if i even seen the whole thing, also been forever since red heat, been years since i watched crossroads, and never seen driver or undisputed so i'll got with a top 8 lol. i know last man standing isn't that great but i love bruce willis lol
@mrparka Ah! The first person to mention Long Riders! I thought that one would come up sooner. Johnny Handsome is about to hit Blu! Hopefully some others will follow. Great list! Thanks man!
@XtroTheMutilator i didn't care for james keach in that movie but it was cool to have all the real brothers playing brothers i mean come on how can stacy keach be to cool and his brother not lol
i love Walter Hill. hes great director. i remember seeing part of crossroads my buddy made me watch it because of steve vai lol he loves that guy i was like 14. i love southern comfort, a favorite of mine. trespass is a badass flick. TOM LISTER, Glen plummer. i need to see streets of fire. hard times is a classic flick, a fav of my dads, the bald guy lol. undisputed didn't see that one. 48 hours is a classic not sure if i seen the whole thing. extreme prejudice is my fav. driver? warriors +
@mrparka I feel the same way, and when he hits it right, which is often, he makes an incredible movie! Streets of Fire is so unique and out there. Really worth checking out. Yeah man! The Driver! A classic. Tiny Lister is awesome. heh
Yes, Extreme Prejudice is great my second favorite Hill film behind The Warriors. Hope they do a much better job on the blu-ray than they did on the dvd. DEATH TO FULL FRAME
@dangercinema Extreme Prejudice is very cool. I love the scenes when they got together and had those conversations. You could just feel everything that was going on and coming. I think movies like Heat shot for that vibe but didn't get it as good as EP. Is there a Blu coming?! That would be fantastic! I haven't heard anything? These days I feel like there's no excuse for foolscreen prints of widescreen movies to be put out. Seems like we are turning that corner now. Good times.
cheers my friend i could not agree with you more the perfect 10 i would place trespass at #10 only cause i am not a big fan of ice tea i think he is a real bad actor and and sometimes destroy a movie with is to the way side acting it is just so bad lol but out side that the list is great thanks for the heads up on that movie & i got 1 of my 2 copies of I in love that cd i still cant believe i didnt buy when it came out i should kick myself in the rear lol do you got the new immortal? thumbs up!
@elcarohw I didn't mind him in Trespass at all! But I know what you mean. There are some actors that ruin a movie for me just by being in it. Yes! That "I" CD is epic. I can't explain why, but I was putting off picking up All Shall Fall for some reason. I'm taking care of that now. heh Maybe I was just waiting for the time when I knew I had the chance to play it over and over or something... I don't know. Huge Immortal fan though.
Interesting topic. Have 7 titles myself. Southern Comfort is my fav so far. Really need to see The Warriors, looked about it some time ago... Regular version is so cheap at uk-amazon I order it straight away. Goin for DC-version later. Crossroads I desperately need to revisit. Remember only the epic guitar-battle. Recent Hill-movie I watched was Johnny Handsome from old ex-rental vhs. Great cast, but film wasn't too great.
@waegiz37 Thanks man. Warriors is definitely must see stuff. The original version is a hair better to me because of the simple fact that the full Baseball Furies scenes are there. A little different in the DC. Johnny Handsome I remember being okay but I honestly haven't seen it in so long.... Blu is coming soon for that one though.
Very cool video man, I have always that Hill was underrated! I love Southern Comfort, Crossroads, and Streets of Fire and as for the Warriors... Top ten favorite movies of all time, use to be my #1 favorite movie! The Driver seems cool I'll have to check it out! Cool one dude!
@NOIMIWOLF Thanks! Based on all the ones you like I think The Driver is probably a safe bet. It's just one of those movies that isn't well known. Should be though!
warriors is my favourite movie ever thanks for posting this im going to check out some more of his films thanks to this

Dammit, I can't believe I remained the only one doing a video response to your video!? Where are all the Walter Hill fans out there?
Please don't stop making more Top 10 videos, because I love'em! And I would of course always do a vid response.

i will say though i prefer the theatrical cut of the warriors to the directors cut, the comic book bits ruined it for me.

@tyronkye I can understand that. If I had to pick only one version, it would probably be the original release.

Excellent idea, man! I love Walter Hill and own almost all of his movies. I deffo agree - he's so underrated.
Been thinking about doing lots of different Top 10 lately. I think your video gave me inspiration to finally start filming some of them.
Oh, of course I will do a video response to this very soon! That's why I didn't comment on your Top 10 itself.

Southern Comfort is a classic! Watched it with my mother back in the 80s. And Extreme Prejudice!! 48 Hours is a great lot of fun.
Wow he got involved with some great stuff.
I've taken note of The Driver.
Played The Warriors PS2 game with my nephew after we watched the movie!! The game was really crap. I take it that the blu ray looks amazing?
Cool idea for a vid actually.
Good one, thanks :)
