George Michael rocked our world in high school. I was a Sophmore at Archbishop Ryan, where he came he did our Record Hops twice a year. This is as good as it got for Top 40 back then.
Radio isn't this exciting and fun any more. This was Top 40 radio at it's best 42 yrs ago. Listen to how excited King George sounded. We've lost the excitement and fun energy that DJ's once had. Every song he talks up or talks out of he sounded excited to be playing them, DJ's today hardly talk if any at all, and they don't sound like they're having fun anymore. The DJ's on Sirus/XM 50's, 60's and 70's channel do a very good job however, but terrestrial radio has lost this.
Wow! I grew up on this station. Seems like only yesterday that I was listening to this on my father's old 1940's radio.
September 6, 1968. I was going to Harvard Avenue School in Swarthmore that year. I was three days away from starting the school year there. (Miss Slevin would be my teacher that year.)
