Good example of how advertising works. Take a very positive slogan, which is however too much bullshit that anyone would believe it - here: "the ladies love it". Still, you can install this in the brains of your consumer targets as connected with your product, by the trick of letting seemingly daft but sympathetic characters say it. The watcher accepts this ok, "it's just THEIR opinion"... bingo.
I don't think that works at all here. Do you actually think people are going to be "brainwashed" into buying some instant mac n cheese because these guys jokingly say that the ladies love it?
That's what the marketing agency obviously does think, and their customer as well - and believe me, they usually have reason to. Advertising at large is abusive of psychology. It certainly does not "brainwash" people in an unevitable way - but it manipulates still well enough to be worth the many tens of thousands of dollars invested by each company!
