I have been to that same theater in Sarasota that he was arrested in (it has since been closed). At the time I had asked an employee and they said that Reubens was the first and only one arrested for jerking off in the theater. Everyone else that was arrested was because they were having sex in the theater (which is not allowed).

It always has been. The authorities tolerate it until they need to make charges stick against someone.
The funny thing is, these "physique" magazines were made in such a way that they ducked the obscenity laws of the 50s and 60s. I can see why the county dropped charges.
The only reason anyone might surmise anyone was a "minor" in these is the fact that these mags weren't required to explicitly state that all parties were over 18, or keep records to that effect.

I believe he picked up because of his connection with the Jeffery Jones. Paul's charges were dropped, but Jones ended up getting fined registering as a sex offender due to him making and possessing child pornography and didn't spend a day in jail.

Only in America could a non issue like this become a headline story that people still talk about 20 yrs after the fact. It was a legal public adult theater. Recently HBO has viewed this Pee Wee play he does, im not sure when it was donw, it looks pretty old but im not sure if it was done before or after the cartoon show.
