Operamagnifico - if you haven't rec'd an answer yet, this is "Convien partir" ("Il faut partir" in the original French) from Donizetti's The Daughter of the Regiment (La fille du Regiment; La figlia del reggimento).
Rinaldi's plangent tone is perfect for this aria. Thanks, coloraturafan!
Rinaldi did not make many commercial recordings, and I haven't heard her singing in years. She had quite a lovely lyric-coloratura voice and an excellent technique. Despite the sound distortions of this video, I enjoyed her singing of the aria. Thank you for sharing.
@meltzerboy -I agree with you.Rinaldi has a lovely lyric voice. I presume she's Italiana but do you know if she ever performed in the USA and are there any of her recordings available on CD? Mille grazie for a reply.
Rinaldi did perform at the San Francisco Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, but never at the Met. I also found that she performed at the Dallas Opera. As far as I know, there are no CDs of her singing arias; however, she recorded Rigoletto, which is on LP and maybe CD. There are several pirate recordings.
