Thanks Seabizzle19, I think the tips helps a lot as I'll be using this song for competition in year end. however, this performance was the only one that I could go up to the last B, for the subsequent attempts, I always got too heavy and won't leave me with much strength to sing it (and I stayed G, rather spoiling the song)
..agony at this point (he's saying "fatal vision leave me" and he is madly in love with her, the G and the B is the point where he starts crying) so move to them as quick as musically tasteful, especially the B. This movement and momentum will help keep the B open. Also when you sing "mi lascia" the "mi" should be in the space of the B already. Really good job though dude! I don't wanna seem like a youtube hater, just giving friendly advice! :D
...agony at this point saying "fatal vision leave me!" so move through it and get to the "la---a----scia!" part. :) Hope this all halps, I don't want to seem like a youtube critic that doesn't know what I'm talking about. :D It's a bitch of a song and you did a good job man!! Kudos!!!
lol he doesn't sound like a bass lmao you clearly don't know what a bass sounds like. Throaty is a bad word to use, its more you just get tight around the passagio. I sing this piece as well and I had the same troubles. One thing that could help you is for the "perche deggio tanto" section with the high A, move through the word "perche" and sit on the "de-" of "deggio" more, ppl want to hear the A not the F and the G :P. And for the B "Fatale vision, mi lascia" move on that more, he's in...
In the begging it was nice..before you started using your throat.. that sound was SO pretty...but then you started being BASS.
If there is one advice I can give you is to STAY TENOR...keep that high placement...the sound becomes strained and very vulgar when you darken.. don't darken!
Also, if you darken and drop position then you cannot go to the high notes easily!!!
@Webarton at 0:48 keep making space and looking for support.. that was the right direction..you kept in the right line RIGHT UP UNTIL you started at 1:33 with anch'io...
