Ringo knows that his characters will have tastes of their own and likely express their situations this way. Another of his series has a fighting crew in a vehicle named Bun-Bun, as it happens. You just KNOW someone in that set is a Sluggite.

Ringo is the Sluggite, point of fact the driver of "Bun-Bun" is supposed to be Torg and the Engineer that shows up at one point is Riff :o)
