  • James is huge.

  • lolz at the censor.

  • guys....the dislike button is NOT the download button....

  • This album is the biggest pile of shite they ever released, i'll stick to Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning!

  • OMFG MetallicA are gods

btw kirk i have the same guitar as you do

    Gibson & ESP rule

    Hell fuckin' yeah

  • No I Wuld James Guitar

  • i wuld bang the girl in the begging

  • can he not hold notes anymore?

  • pop?

since when is metallica pop? xD

I thought it was thrash metal :-O

    oh well! :D

    METALLICA RULES!

yeah they have their ups and downs...

  • @"Pop" is just used to describe what is popular at the time

  • 1:36

    wtf?!?!?!

  • I have totally disregarded this album but this might make me dust it off again or at least stick it on the ipod

  • Echt geil !!!!!!

  • @DevilSpree i think te songs being long, is positive!

they are great, and deserve to be big!

Kill 'em All is very good as well!

not as great as Master of Puppets, but very good.

Seek and Destroy, Hit the Lights, its genious!

  • I think St. Anger is a great album, especially Frantic.

  • 2008, Metallica released Death Magnetic, and Thrash metal fans thought they were saved..

Then Megadeth released ENDGAME, And Blew our minds away, and just destroyed metallica's last 2 albums.

  • @RVD909 and then Slayer releashed world painted blood and destroyed both metallica and megadeth

  • @RVD909 megadeth fanboy

  • @RVD909 Endgame is nothing new. Just a product of recycled previous Megadeth work. Death Magnetic is streets ahead. Metallica *have* always been streets ahead of Megadeth, for that matter.

  • @JustStayDown90 Well, I still think endgame is a great example of thrash metal, but yes, you're right, the record is nothing new at all and sounds totally uninspired. Death magnetic is the shit.

  • I wish they played this more live. It's a great song, no matter what people say about the album. It sounds even better live, due to having a non-twangy snare.

It's no Creeping Death, but it's better than anything that's been popular since the mid 90's.

  • Its sped up o_O

  • IHate That Moment in Metallica History

  • this song is a statement for the hole fucking metal phenomenon !

  • did she have dick in her mouth? mEtallica?

  • 1:37 creepy xD

  • wheres his signature tone

  • a nije mitalika nego metalika :S

  • METALLICA BEST SONG

  • @punkc4 wtf?

  • @viciocs what whata fuck man

  • It's amazing how with just the mustache back you can see the image of early 90's james.

  • St.Anger sucks + Metallica Rocks = St. Anger is a masterpiece too. Anyone aggreeing?

  • @GugoBYW I personally think the "fuck you" attitude of saint anger is spot on - not metallicas finest but compared to the dross they created between 1990-2003 it is a tour de force!

  • I want hetfield's guitar

  • @XChippaX buy it then

  • @XChippaX I happen to have that one :)

  • @XChippaX i'd rather have the voice :)

  • @vish6565 i would curb stomp a new born for hets voice

  • @XChippaX Not only you man ! xDD

  • FUCKING top of the FUCKING pops... cuting the word FUCKING out of the performance... even in the late 90ies Metallica would have said: "Fuck you, we don't let you cut our lyrics!"

  • i would trade in my ex girlfriend for that guitar

  • @TheLaMoFo Fuck that, i'd trade my wife !

  • @harters82 LMAO XD

  • i hope every single member of that audience knows how fucking lucky they are to have seen a band like Metallica perform live

  • METALLICA RULLES! From Kill Em All to Death Magnetic! From Hit the Lights to Broken Beat & Scared it just rule every single piese of ur misserable ass!

  • Great song

    Just perfect

  • @tabmaster66

Without St. Anger you probably would have no metallica right now.

The snare is supposed to sound that way.

  • Sounds SO MUCH better with normal snare.

  • i love the iron cross of gibson!!

  • i fking love this song and this is a great performance. james's gibson is such a beast, sounds so much heavier than the ESP remake...

  • @tabmaster66 the closed snare kicks ass, however it could use a solo.

  • @tabmaster66 the closed snare KICKS ASS!!!

  • 6.) St. Anger was just a product of over-thought, with so many bombs going off within the band it was not what it should have been. Bad snare, no solos, but if it weren't for St. Anger and it's critiques, we wouldn't have Death Magnetic which is there best since the Black Album.

  • 3.) Reload: Left overs from Load, they can't all be gems, so deal with it.

4.) I Disappear: Even Megadeth has done movie soundtracks, most do, so what?

5.) S&M: It was different and a few songs sounded better than the originals "Outlaw Torn" for instance

  • Metallica has never sold out.

    Common Arguments:

1.) Load: How do you possibly follow the black album? You can't make a similar album it will be panned for falling short. Not to mention music changed in their time off. They went another way, and Load came out pretty good in my opinion.

2.)Garage Inc: Metallica has always done covers their way, this was just a double disc of old and new covers, not seeing the big deal, and Disc 2 is awesome.

  • they also did frantic on top of the pops and the crowd was fukin dead dont think its on youtube though but hetfield looked pissed off!

  • i just wanted to let you know all top of pops are fake performances, except vocals. good vid tho

  • @tpdawgs733 what r u talking about man the guitars doesnt sound exactly like the album stop saying some bullshit

  • @gabfish16 look at the nirvana top of pops it proves their all fake,

  • I really love james´s guitar

    METALLICA RULES

  • Comment removed

  • this song is not bad..Im beginning to like it alot more than when it first came out

  • is it me or is it the intro doesnt really have a rythm

  • @stupidbuttheads its just you

  • what the fuck is metallica doin in top pf the pops?! NOW i've seen everything :P

    Awsome song :D

  • @tabmaster66 St. Anger was an album that Hetfield had to write. He had to get the demons out of his system on paper. If that makes Metallica a better band in the long run, then it is worth it. I've dealt with some of the issues that James wrote about so I know where he was coming from.

  • lol u do know people dont play live at TOTPs right check out the nirvana vid lol theyre all fucking about with instruments LOL

  • fakkin awesome

  • LOL :)

  • watch some kind of monster i had no idea all of that went into st,anger!

  • now thats an interesting fact

never thought that the house that jack biult was in fact a song about his adiction to Jack daniels

  • can't believe metallica played top of the pops.

  • @shoekstra1419 you think they would have a gay rap or something like that but this was the best choice they ever made metallica

  • they say james was very angry during this album does anyone know why

  • He'd just came out of Rehab, had alot to get off his Chest.

  • @xOBenzo92Ox owke thank you

  • Actully he had an achool addiction at the start of the cd and later on (1 year later) came back and finished it. Most of the cd is about Being Angry, and Achool Additions.. "The House that Jack Built / Sweet amber " Are bout his addictions to Jack daniels

  • just look up the "some kind of monster" dvd on here it'll answer all your questions about this abulm

  • no guitar solo

  • Dont they look so out of place?. I mean. this is better than some of the other shit people force onto TOTPs.

    WOOOO!

  • best performance ever of this song

  • he looks like a young paul teutul

  • love jaymz voice in this video!

an i like the hardnes in this song!!

    2:19 HUI

  • Hey..where does that chick hide her pot o' gold....??? And is she still working for Lucky Charms?

  • she's Scotish not Irish.

  • tomato / toe-mahto ....cant understand either one of 'em

  • the new songs are shit, but the songs from "kill em all" are PERFEKT.. this song is VERY good...

    but i listen motorhead!

  • FUCKING censorship...

  • metallica 4 ever i fuckin love them!

  • if you^re a die hard fan you must love every tallica shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No, you nob. Thats called being a fanboy. I am a huge fan of Metallica but just because something has a Metallica logo branded on doesn't mean i will automatically like it.

  • its not that you must love every tallica shit its that you just do love every tallica shit

  • porqueria de cancion

  • they never play this live anymore :(

  • god that audience dont know how lucky they were to see a band as legendary as Metallica so close up. even most die-hard fans don't get to see em like that

  • Snare sounds like when I hit my guitars neck. Same like that. But better, than like a thrash can.

  • I thought this song sucked on CD much like most of the songs on that cd...but here it totally translates and I get what they were going for with it. Now the song kicks ass live!!! sorry but cd still sucks haha its the awful over production of it that kills it.

  • fuck that, i think its great the way it is. if you put it in its own context and WHY they made the album that way, its a brilliant record. people are just hung up on the old stuff. i say keep progressing and do what ever the fuck you want. if you want to live in the past still, then just put on master of puppets or killem all. thats why you record it.

  • the snare he used on the album version really gives the song a certain vibe, this one not too much

  • At least they are able to play live, I was watching the Iron Maiden on pops videos and they had to mime wicker man and only bruce's vocals on wildest dreams was live, the rest was playback, which sucks, wish a shit pop show would let metal bands crank it up and play live on their show.

  • this is odd. metallica don't belong there.

  • whta do you think about this song?i think this song amazing, and metallica rules!

  • yeah your right, if kurt threw a solo into st anger and sweet amber it'd have a really good sound. fuck knows what lars was doing with his snare in st anger thoughh.

from my point of view this album was more about james though i think. this was around the time when he was having problems in his lif elike being an alchoholic yes?

im prolly wrong but its just my opinion :)

  • Metallica comes to kick ass to pop fan, and suck blood of little stupid head; and kill em'all with st.anger on face...

  • seems rely wierd seen such an awesome metal band play on a crappy pop music show full of crappy pop people tht arent gonna appreciate that this is what good music sounds like plus metallica are like the only band in history that actually played their instruments and didnt lip sync so wierd but metallica totally owns tht crappy show

  • first album in 5 years?

im sure she meant to say 6, unless my math is incorrect... tell me:

is it 6 years between 1997 to 2003?

    thought so...

    you fail blonde woman

  • It sounds so fucking weird with a regular snare.

    Awesome Album....something different but good

  • HAHAHAHA Metallica on TOTP

  • I love that China symbal sound :D

  • its not a bad song its just bad compared to other metallica songs

  • this sounds a lot better live than in studio in my opinion

  • except the censoring

  • haha yeah

  • @psuzeppelin5 i dont think the vocals are up to much tho :/

  • @barnc002 yeah true

  • @psuzeppelin5 its not cuz dam lars doesnt double bass drum like the record

  • They cut the 'fuck' uahuahauahuahuaha

  • Sry... but... TOP OF THE POPS!!!! GODDAMN! Didn't know they played on that show....:-x

Honestly... I mean ...I like Metallica... I even startet to play guitars with the tabs from the black album but I don't get it. Why did the play in shows like that??!

and... the sound is awful....sounds like shit to me.

    C'ya SP33D (Germany)

sry 4 my fucked up english... ^^

  • probably one of the only time ive actually heard a band live on totp. most of the time they mime....i guess metallica were too good;)

  • Fuck censore

  • lol

  • oh this song sounds so much better without that stupid pingy snare

  • totally, its not a bad album, its just most people can't get over the snare

  • most people say this song is garbage but its easy to be tough behind a computer. I bet half the people trashing it couldnt write a song close to as good!

  • :| Metallica were on Top of the Pops?

    Wow.

  • the 'ol farts still have some hop in their bop. lol

  • this is a underestimated song btw. not as good as their early ass kicking songs but still very very good

  • I don't think Metallica sold out. They have always walked their own way and don't give a shit what other people think they should play or not play.

  • @MasterOfKthulu That's exactly what Cliff said. Metallica has never sold out. They just channel their talents into music that doesn't always sound the same. Kill 'Em All sounds different from ...And Justice For All. And Justice For All sounds different from the Black Album. The Black Album sounds different from Load. ETC. But are they all good albums, yes.

  • @600430 i agree, even if you don't like the whole album, there's at least 4 or 5 really great songs. Frantic, St. Anger, Some Kind of Monster, My World, Shoot Me Again, and Unnamed Feeling are my favs.

  • @LedZeppelinforever19 I agree. I like St. Anger, Sweet Amber, Unnamed Feeling and Some Kind of Monster. Yeah because it's still Metallica. They've always had the guts to experiment with new sounds in music. It may sound different but that doesn't change anything. They're still Metallica, one of the best bands of all time.

  • @MasterOfKthulu That's very true... The fact that they have written some very digestible metal in the 90's doesnt cover up the first part..

  • i remember this when it was aired. seems so long ago now

  • i would love the look on the faces of this mainstream crowd when metallica would have pulled of damage inc. XD

  • or dyers eve hahah

  • Weird how Lars isn't using the 'St. Anger snare' sound. I always thought that it sounded really good, critics never liked it : /

  • its annoying and sounds like hes banging on trash cans...dont worry...Lars has a new signature snare drum that mixes the St. Anger snare with the normal snare, he used it on Death Magnetic and live shows..u can really tell when u listen to My Apocalypse....fans dont complain about tho

  • What would be wrong with using Trash Cans? But I have to agree with you the new one sounds better.

  • A band named METALLICA in a tv shows named Top Of The POPS!!! it's a kind of shame........... anyway... who cares.... MetallicA are always MetallicA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: How the crowd would have reacted if they started to play something like seek and destroy or master or maybe battery? XD

  • BATTERY... GO!!!!!

    HELLYEAH!

  • is this? punk oO lol metallica plays metal :P

  • LOL james looks like tobie keith

  • I gotta say... they didn't "return" until Death Magnetic!

  • Metallica on Top of the pops, probably the only decent band on the show that week

  • the cd version is WAY better

  • thank god for the nice snare

  • i love it when bands who are not mainstream invade totp , way back in 1981 when the exploited mimed their way thru dead cities was amazing ,seeing the pop fans pretending to be into punk or metal is fantastically humiliating

  • This far better than any of the original shxt that was usually played on TOTP. I imagine this would've been a Shock to the System. AND WHAT DO THEY MEAN NUMBER 9?!

  • i always liked the intro to this song...but then it turns to shit when it hits the verse......

and lars snare on the album was a fucking trash can wtf!!! the one hes using in this is way better

  • death magnetic is fucking awesome

  • lol i think death magnetic is great but saying its metallica self parodying themself is fuckin hilarious...lol st anger sucks and this performance sucks

  • DEATH MAGNETIC is metallica sellf parodying themselves, cos every song is lonf(like the 80s) they have an acoustic part at the start(like the 80s) then the secong half of the songs is fast n heavy, so its cleary them self parodying them selves

  • what are you talking about? they did the same thing on all of their old albums! fight fire with fire on lighting starts acoustic then they come in hard, then it gets fast and heavy. battery on master of puppets? same thing. one? its slow intro then singing then gets fast and heavy. so basically they were "self parodying" themselves back then in your eyes right?

  • what im sayin is when they did that in the 80s it was great n original but now theyre sel parodying themsleves

  • i don't think you understand what parody means.

  • yes i do, i dont mean parody i mean theyre jus tryin to be theyre selves in the 80's but thats never gonna happen again

  • no, they've gone back to making metal. it's insane, people get angry at metallica for not making metal, then they start again, and people get angry because they're trying to be themselves in the 80's.

sorry, but a metal band going back to metal =/= self-parody.

  • yes theyre making metal again, but its shit metal jus tryin to go back in time

  • what in your opinion, would make it better then?

  • well if u go back to my original comment i said "metallica shud of jus quit around 1994 then load re-load st.anger n DM wudnt of put a cloud on their clssic albums"

  • ah, so you're a "Metallica was only good in the 80's and everything they ever do will immediately suck" person. I see I wasted my time here.

  • ahhh let me guess youre one of those "your not a metallica fan if you dont like very single song"

  • no, but saying that death magnetic isn't at least a return to form is very stupid. I respect the fact that you don't like it, but saying that it's horrible and nothing will ever be as good as back then is very stupid.
