hey guys just ordered my hmf comp series for my 2004 kodiak 450 I'm adding a K&N air filter too. Just wondering if u could tell me where my jetting should be at. Thanx again!!
@2008raptor350man For the Polaris Outlaw 525 Solid Rear, HMF recommends starting with a 150 Keihin Hex Main Jet. Depending on your location or other mods done to your machine you may need to adjust it further.
@wolfmancry101 We have not done any testing with other manufacturer’s head pipes. I can suggest that if the other brand head pipe works with the stock muffler section, it should work with HMF’s slip on. This is not guaranteed for any model or any brand aftermarket head pipe.
@raptorboyz960 It's always a good idea to jet your machine when you put a new pipe on. We strongly recommend rejetting if you plan on using the Stage 1 insert often. The exhaust will get hot if not jetted properly. What did you have on it before?
@MrBobTheG We didn't see much of a power increase with the Full System, so we don't offer one. We only sell products that will make power. Hope that helps.
@BeforeTheUnseen It's tough giving an exact number because there are a number of different mods that could effect the sound. The Competition Series comes with 3 inserts which will guarantee you to pass sound tests. Typically, riders have been passing with the Stage 2 Insert, others have been able to pass with the Stage 3 Insert.
The same way you will not recommend I get a GYTR for my YFZ450, or a Yoshimura, even though both systems deliver more or less the same performance you guys do ( you and I know that there is not much difference from one [competitive] exhaust brand to the other. Plus, if you really want power, leave only the header) , with the added bonus that Yoshimura has titanium! (For the record, I'm totally biased towards HMF, but you guys need to develop a Ti/carbon full system, please.)
@rocksrisa If you're going from the smallest insert (Stage 1), you will need to rejet or you will extreme high temperatures. If you're switching to the Stage 3 insert, it's best to rejet accordingly.

Well that's an obvious answer... LOL. It's like asking Coke: "hey, do you guys recommend I buy some doctor pepper" Or "Pepsi, do you know if I should get me some Mountain Dew?" or the epic one "Coke, would you suggest I buy a Pepsi?". LMAO what a dumb question he made, of course you will not.
what difference it makes if you insert a competition insert?

Do you have to re-jet when you change from the quiet core to the open core?
rocksrisa 1 year ago
do u guys recomend this pipe or fmf powercore 4 for my 09 raptor 350
tpaigemoney 1 year ago
We will always recommend HMF over any after-market system. It makes more power and costs less.
