  • Al least here in Brazil, ABBA is a giant and sold out stadiums.

  • Mega group, tremendous harmonies, espetacular songs. But Agnetha still nowadays feels sadness with those moments. She felt profund depression during the "golden years" of the band and hate things that remember ABBA.

If they come back to just one tour, it would be a massive impact, just similar to the Michael Jackson "return".U2, Bee Gees, Madonna, etc. don´t have the same power that ABBA. But the King of Pop go way...

  • Im sorry but we have to face facts. These people are the greatest pop band of the 20th century!

  • of course

  • they are great, but I really really wonder how much money they have made. they must be richer than almost any band at this point, they are still everywhere after 30 years, without playing a single concert.

if they did a tour I cant imagine how many stadiums they could fill, most likely make U2 look really small, no?

  • Super Group !!!!!

  • i just cried to an ABBA song? fuck that twat Alan Partridge never mentions this is a break up song. i've been walking around singing the damn refrain like a trained monkey on crack. aha! time to attack my cereals

  • i have an abba gold cd, and i listen to it every night with my cat. we sleep together

  • cool :)

  • did they sing in Swedish or English when they were in Sweden?

  • In the beginning, they made separate versions of the songs in both languages. Once they made it internationally they stuck to English.

  • pain and regret so evident at times....very emotional for me

  • UNIQUE SOUND .... SO BEAUTIFUL !

    Joy.

  • Agnetha is impossibly blonde

  • frida looks so beautiful here!

  • nejlepší je prostě jak tam ty dva chlapy zpívaj to : aháááá :D:D:D:D:D:D

  • no coo to je klasika :D

  • Agnetha so nice,Frida so hot,Frida the best.

  • They both troubled me as I grew up. Splendid, and cheers to another ABBA fan!

  • I'm a die-hard Nine Inch Nails fan....still, I think this and a number of other ABBA songs rock!

  • I can get the notes just by ear

  • Well..you have to be born and alive to enjoy this.. !! :o)

So it's logic that you think this is crap..

    You don't live... ;o)

  • you need to get a life then..there´s nothing better than this..

  • HAPPY 64TH BIRTHDAY FRIDA LUV YOOH XOX

  • FRIDA UR SUCH A FOXY BABE UR SSOOOO HOT

  • Agnetha was quite the fox back in the day.........I miss the days when ABBA rules the radio!

  • Amazing how I never knew how much I love this song until I finally hear it again here. Thank-you. I like the way real dialogue seems the inspirationn of it. One person starts "knowing me and knowing you," The the other says, "Uh huh..." Such a hard conversation to have-breaking up.

  • What a great sound. ABBA=outstanding.

  • No more carefree laughter Silence ever after Walking through an empty house, tears in my eyes Here is where the story ends, this is goodbye Knowing me, knowing you There is nothing we can do Knowing me, knowing you We just have to face it, this time we´re through Breaking up is never easy, I know but I have to go Knowing me, knowing you It´s the best I can do
  • They are couples, or were they?

  • Yes they were couples

  • They were couples (they are actually hugging their then-spouses in the video) but this song was written and released during the early part of their biggest commercial successes, several years before Benny and Frida (the guy with the beard and the brunette woman) became the first of the two couples to divorce.

  • why did they divorce?

  • First off: My memory of the events was wrong. Björn and Agnetha divorced first, in early 1979. All I remember hearing is that they "fell out of love". Benny and Frida supposedly had had trouble for a long time, and Benny eventually told Frida that he'd found someone else and was in love with her. They divorced about 2 years after Björn and Agnetha.

Honestly, I don't think we could ever know the WHOLE or the "real" answer to the "Why?" for most divorces--it's just too complex.

  • The fascinating thing about divorce is it's complex, and simple at the same time.

As this song illustrates, it can be as beautiful as the relationship itself.

Life doesn't make sense, that's the beauty of it!

  • Why is it, the best music in the world seems to come from breaking up?

The end of a romance seems to bring the beginning of creativity.

  • Very interesting thoughts, springsteel333, especially the part about divorce potentially being perceived as beautiful. It's true of course--but it's good to be reminded that beauty can often be found in destruction and dissolution if you look in the right places.

  • Is that Luke Skywalker and Al Borlan? Wow didn't know that they were in ABBA before they did Star Wars Movies I-IV and Home Improvement & Family Fued TV shows.

Such BEAUTIFUL LADIES with BEAUTIFUL voices and Agnethas sweet long blond hair WOW. And Frida's Red hair WOW. What more could we ask for in a band like ABBA. No one else like them today. Love them.

  • @Fenncer24 Ment to say IV-VI movies. not I-IV.

  • Is it true thry turned down a billion dollars to go on tour last year?

  • @briansg44 Yeah that's true, I think it was 2 years ago though.

  • its true, but not last year, it was in 2000..

  • Yes it is. The world tour promoters even offered to donate most of it to chartiy. Between Agneta's fear of flying, and their thought there was no need for it. They declined the tour.

  • El mejor cuarteto de todos los tiempos....very nice!!!

  • Two Pretty Angels from my generation!!!

  • love abba, nuff said babeeeey x

  • They both look like Bond girls. Sad but beautiful song.

  • It was the 70s...nobody gave a fk. MTV did not exist and people still looked like real people instead of plastic dolls.

  • Right on!

  • Spot-on answer there, BeautyofVanity. I know what a few million **couldn't** fix--a self-obsessed prick attitude like Zaiakai's.

  • man i wish they would tour one last time

  • Great song and great band!

  • They should realy have ONE more concert tour

  • Lovely ABBA women!!

  • Yes PuteraParsi, thats actually one of our tricks if ever some idiot were to attack Scandinavia. You will never see us until it's way too late!

  • FRIDA LOOKS SO PRETTY IN HERE!!! :D

  • I LOVE FRIDA! Her voice is amazing!

  • LOVE FRIDA'S VOICE !!!!

    :D

  • Knowing me, Alan Partridge, knowing you, Mr. Testicle. AHA!!!!!

  • my God, they are so WHITE! they can camouflage themselves in snow...

  • Peccato che siano spariti dalla circolazione. Grandissimissimi

  • I got hooked on ABBA Last year at 39 yrs old after seeing Mamma Mia and decided to look up their songs and listen to then every night. The voices of Agnetha and Anna are what I think are the best out there. Such harmony and range, plus great looking ladies that are scandly dressed, To all that follow and get hooked on ABBA you are now ABBAminights meaning you can't get ride of them and are now HOOKED FOR LIFE!I am 40 now and sing along with the songs and I am a guy but who cares LOVE THEM.

  • You are now gay (just kidding)

  • I AM gay. And Benny is officially the cutest man who ever lived. :-))

  • I LOVE it when morons give "thumbs down" to a post like my earlier one. Weather it's because they disagree with my opinion, or they don't like the idea that I'm gay (or the idea that I say it out loud) it's amusing to think about the thoughts motivating such dumb actions: "THIS will show him that SOMEONE doesn't agree with something unspecified about him or his post."

Well, you sure aggressively taught me a vague lesson about...uh, something. Assuming, that is, that I care about your opinion.

  • I'm a fan of honesty, that's why I like your earlier post.

You and I both, honestly like this tune alot. Good music brings out the best in people. (Most of the time),

  • To be perfectly fair to ABBA and their music, I wasn't thinking about "Knowing Me, Knowing You" or any other ABBA song when I wrote the latter post. Rather, I was thinking about how obnoxious people can be when they are protected from experiencing any real consequences for their actions. Quite a telling difference in my OWN tone, I'd say. :-)

  • I agree. I also think the key word in your last post is " real " .

Some people know how to be real, and it's sad to see those who have not learned that yet. They don't know what they're missing!

That's what this song has too, it's real. I always miss this song when I haven't heard it in a while!

  • life love

with divine voice a gift to embrace ,

    love much to in bond.

    Bless you much!!

  • Fleetwood Mac. Relationships etc. And less Eurobeat sugar too thankfully. Don't get me wrong, ABBA were very good, but time has been very kind to them (like Queen) and most have forgotten how tired we became of them towards the end of the 70s. Still, enjoy, any music that touches you is to be cherished.

  • I just went on a trip where I was able to listen to 44 songs in a row from ABBA in my car......and I put that CD in again on the way home! I've run out of superlatives for them......

  • To anyone who doesn't appreciate this group, aside from the tremendous music they produced......they also "grew up" together, got married and then broke up......all the while writing and singing about it as if it were all in a day's work...... Never again will you have such brilliant songwriters "hooking up" with not only beautiful women, but singers with the most amazing voices.

  • Per me gli ABBA sono al livello dei Beatles e dei Rollings Stones. Grandi!!

  • 30 years later, still one of my favorite videos. They filmed this even before videos were recognized as an art form. I will always HEART ABBA.

  • como pode brasileiros não fazerm comentários sobre aquele que foi o maior grupo musical de sua época?

  • En av de basta banden nagonsin!

  • Hey, 17 here, love this song. Me and my girlfriend love ABBA haha.

  • I really get very sad with this song. I can not think of all of the people that have come and gone in my life. Dead or alive. \

  • The music is so nice, i love it, one of the best.

  • why can't people make this kind of timeless music. I guess, I was born in the wrong era of music.

  • It does not matter when you were born. Keep it alive and pass it down. That is the only way it will survive.

  • good

  • GOOD I LOVED THIS IS SONG

  • Talk about tugging at your heart strings! This song says it all. What a band!

  • If this isn't one of the most beautiful words, music, and performances in the world, I don't think I know it. I'm 62 Y/O man, and was lucky enough to have seen ABBA in concert 4 different times. I'm still in love with Agnetha, 38 years after actually meeting her and Bjorn in Helsinki, Finland. What a day that turned out to be.

    JF

  • I saw them in concert at Radio City in New York in 1979, during their one and only tour of the US. It was incredible.

  • You're lucky in deed. I was born in the 70s and missed the entire ride. Abba's music is pure magic.

  • Well i am a 25 year old male and I think they are great too! Different generation but this music is timeless :-)

  • Gawd, Frida in that fur coat!! Stunning!!

  • Frida in the fur coat or not in the fur coat is stunning. Back then, I was sure she would end up being my wife....but something somewhere went wrong, dang it!

  • They're either all getting better at acting or they're letting the cracks in their relationships show in this video...Brilliant song, & great call & response harmonies from the guys.

  • you s

  • according to Yahoo!, this song is named "one of the saddest songs" in music history.

  • "The Winner Takes It All" is sadder still.

  • true. The Winner takes It All is sadder than this song but Yahoo! still included this song in "saddest songs of all time"

  • Beautiful Agnetha,always

  • SVENSKA!!!! AGNETHA!!!!!

  • Agnetha and Frida both have so incredible voices and they are beautifull too.

    ABBA forever.

  • Sweden FTW!!!

  • Oh those 70's! This was a superb hit! Knowing Me, Knowing You rode high and mighty on the charts for the longest time. This was also a good looking group, especially in this video.

  • SWEDEN!!!

  • Que bellaaaaaaa, Preciosa esa rubia 3:38 La AMOOO

  • They look good in Fernando too!!!

  • I think Agnetha and Frida look the best in this video.

  • They have always been lovely.

  • I'm 15 and male but I must say

    <3 Abba

  • RHONDA WEBER I LOVE YOU

  • ¡Qué lindas! Y bonita canción... :)

  • I LOVE ABBA! Most 23 year old guys wouldn't admit to that, but ABBA is just so awesome.

  • coz they suk.. im 20.. i love they muzik.. it's sooo good ;)..

  • my favourite/ one of my favourite ABBAs

  • This is my Favorite Abba song.I love them all.But this one is the best I think!

  • ABBAS best song in my opinion.

  • Flying over the Atlantic Ocean to Africa watching the movie Momma Mia was amazing ! Having a movie screen right there inches away from you and hearing some awesome music - I think I was singing part of the time because when I took my earplugs out, I got some strange looks but no boo-ing !

  • Beauty, my dear Esmee, is in the eye of the beholder. now wouldn't it just be a boring world, if we all liked the same thing??

  • if you dont like theyr music, why do you watch their videos???

  • If I'm gonna die on day...

I want to hear that song...

    It's my life.

    It's my everything.

    I will be crying.

I will be crying for all my friends that I will have to leave here.

    I will be missing them.

    All of them.

But they will be in my heart...forever...

    Forever...

  • i do not why my eyes open in the morning...im doing my best...outlaw k1.

  • the best abba song, the best pop band ever and possibly the greatest counter vocal melody (by the guys) ever recorded.

  • FATHER.....RHONDA

  • Damn, I LOVED this song! (still do)

  • abba is the only music "band" that i actually like :P wish they made music today.

  • ABBA WE MISS YOU

  • jew..gentile......rhonda w. i didnt ask for this..

  • Yes yes ABBA 4 ever. Find me two women that can sing like this and Ill show yuo total happiness. lol U wont find it today Ill tell you that. Peace

  • Hey have my little sisshe sings very good she has one of the amazing voices

  • Same as me, I've just turned 4x. They were just incredible. Their songs reach one so deep..........

  • Just turned 45 myself and I grew up listening to ABBA, one of the most incredible vocal groups ever! Finding them on youtube is great...brings back tons of memories.

I will have to agree with others on here, there will never be another group that can come close to matching the vocals of ABBA, just simply incredible!

Thanks for the youtube videos and the memories!

  • i love how they pronounce "children". its so cute.

  • One of my favorite songs !!!! the best band !!! ABBA

  • Beautiful song, yet so sad because they really did break up as couples and as a group. ABBA is one of the few to have the talent to turn pain into a work of art. Someone else said it first, but I do believe their music is so timeless that they will eventually pass up MJ, Elvis and the Beatles in album sales, just my prediction.....

  • Are they the "Burzum" friends???

  • Amazing voices, I just love this song; moreover, this song foretold that they broke up later.

  • Lovely sad song

They could sing anything back then

  • Sometimes I wonder if everything that can be done has just been done already. Maybe that's why music sucks now.

The Carpenters, The Doors, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Bee Gees (60s & 70s), The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Jimmy Hendrix, The Moody Blues etc. etc. etc..

We had so much great stuff we just didn't have time to be into all of it.

  • what about the silversun pickups? young band, very popular, and great songs.....

  • Very pleasant song that brings back memories. But damed, those gals were pretty back then.

  • agreed rupokvai...even at age 49...

  • I have to say I think these two ladies have the best voices in music and even better than Heart. Sorry Heart lovers but thee ladies voices are beatiful. Love ABBA won't stop listening to then. Already burned out on Heart but not ABBA. Love the songs and the Ladies and teh Music is great.

  • their voices have been synthesised. but yes it sounds very nice

  • i hv grwn listening these songs still at my age of 34 .. theres no match of originality..its lost..

  • sem duvidas uma das minhas favoritas,,,,,,,i love the abba´s

  • Great song!!! :)

  • wow! this is great

  • What a great band, sounds like heaven.

  • the best

  • i bet this would sound great on a brand new bang and olufsen stereo system

  • I really love this. My favorite Abba song.

  • It really is right up there with Dancing Queen

  • i like a lot it s nice

  • such a sad sing and video, and in real life, they were breaking up too!!

  • dwie bardzo piękne, utalentowane kobiety, jeden z najlepszych zespołów jakie kiedykolwiek tworzyły muzykę na tej planecie...

  • ten kawałek mnie uskrzydla i wzrusza zarazem!

    nieprawdopodobny utwór!

  • Such a beautiful, meloncholy song. The video matches the song so well !

  • frida has a wonderful voice. :)

  • they always had good drama in their videos. cool song.

  • This brings back memories of working at Wal-Mart, just because it used to get played on Wal-Mart's radio quite a bit.

  • bellaaaaaaaa e romanticaaaaaa e enche un pò malinconica...

  • Is that Al Borlan from Home Improvement in ABBA?

  • lol

  • That's Benny Andersson...

The four people you see are:

    Anna-Frida

    Björn

    Benny

    Agneta

And oh my would you look at that... their names spell ABBA ;)

  • Frida and Agnethe has an amazing voice!

No one has such a talent like the two girls!

Im 13 and I love ABBA since I was like 3 year old

  • ABBA holds up well to time....this song is superbly arranged and the vocals are perfect for the song.

  • hermosa... nostalgica

  • I don't care what anybody says about ABBA....they rock...great lyrics, catchy melodies:)))

  • I agree totally--you're right. their songs are classic

  • What an incredible vocal range on those girls... Beautiful voices. I have to laugh at the video though. Especially the part where the girls are walking down the snowy path and the camera cuts back and forth to the two male band members. It so cheesy and I totally love it. The other thing I noticed was just how much of a stretch it was for them to sing in English. When you watch their mouths you can see they don't really speak it very well. I love it all the same.
