Was considering this monitor, yet seeing as I often hit 300-500+ people LANs this will allow me to see everyone behind me. I won't lie, though, this monitor looks damn gorgeous.
Anyone think the Acer S273HLB is a good choice? (it's not 3D compatible)
@USArmySGT40 But this monitor has twice the speed of most monster 30" screens it can do 120Hz in 2D at 2ms GTG I don' t think a 120Hz 2560x1600 monitor exist yet. If it does exist please point me too it :)
@USArmySGT40 1080p is soo 2008? Lol you sound like a fashion girl xD And still Full HD is what most people still use (and it's still good), though ive never seen 2560 x 1600 yet. And as Receptical says why use more money for a 3'' bigger slower monitor? At that point screw the 2560 x 1600 and go for 1080p (Full HD) 2ms with 3D option..
Ordered mine today, feel bad caus its alot money. but iknow its good. got a Samsung 2233rz very good 120hz screen , not as good and big as this one tho:)
@iPoopTech Ya thats possible in 2D, but you can't mount them or disconnect them from the stand. Although I don't know if you can do duel 3D with the screens
@SP1D3RMAN75 Yes S27A950D is better. The Acer S243HL has a great price and looks cool, but thats. When it comes to speed and color reproduction the SA950 is a lot better and it can do 3D too... but it also cost 3 times as much as the Acer =[
Thank you - I spent hours looking at other reviews (both utube and text) and you were the first to actually read out the model number of the glasses. I am fully aware of the issues involved with supposed compatibility of the glasses across various Samsung 3D TV and monitors. It was getting to the point that I was seriously thinking of posting my own "in Box" review and making a point of stating the 3D glasses model number for the reference of other potential buyers. Ta mate..
@DrunkenMunk123 Well it depends on what your gonna use it for. PC 2D I would choose this SA950D, 3D PC there are some great 3D monitors out there but they cost a bit more, PS3/XBOX look into the PlayStation TV... good luck
Thanks for the Video, I am looking into getting this monitor this week, I mainly want it for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, do you recommend this for gaming? Will appreciate your reply. thank you.
kinda dum question i know but is 3D optional on this monitor? my friend bought a samsung monitor some time ago and he was forced to view 3d all the time
@1981z28camaro Ya you can with the 3D menu buttons there is a Depth controller, Also with the Tridef software you can adjust the "Convergence" for each game as much as you like. Although I'll warn you this is not a great 3D monitor, if you want this for 3D mainly there are better 3D monitors out there, this is a excellent 2D monitor but just an "OK" 3D monitor.
@kiball09 Its "OK" its hit and miss, sometimes is cool and other times you get crosstalk distortions and strange 3D warping, so not the best, its just kinda of a fun gimmick for home videos.
What do you think about the resolution? I have the same one, i think it feels to low res. Everythings huge. 1080p feels to low for 27". Have u noticed this?
hy, i saw in another video that this monitor does not support nvidia 3d techonology. Does it mean that with my gtx590 i wont be able to watch anything in 3d? and if so is there anything i can do to overcome this problem, like an adaptor, or something?
@gitabad Yea, but the new LG is not full hd res, because it uses the same tech that passive 3d uses, and you will only get a res of 540p each eye, but with active 3d you get full 1080p HD.
@skyline826 This monitor is not compatible with the Nvidia 3D glasses =( . I tried with a pair that my friend had the Nvidia setup program refused to recognize this monitor as a 3D monitor. Maybe with updates... but currently it is not compatible.
I got this monitor yesterday, and I would recommend it to anyone, even if you have an Nvidia card. I've played many games, since yesterday, and the 2d quality is very impressive, on the PS3 the most impressive game I played in 3D is Killzone 3, on the PC Bordelands, and world of warcraft looks amazing, BFBC2 looks really good too :) In duke Nukem forever theres too many ghosting right now :(
Compagny of Heroes, starcraft II, League of Legends all look good in 3D.
@cDSTheBlackRose Essentially Nvidia has its own type of 3D that works great, but only if you use all Nvidia stuff. I'm not sure why Samsung didn't make their monitor fully compatible with Nvidia's 3D tech but you can't fully use all 3D features that Nvidia has to offer with this monitor. Although it seems that ATI cards and 3D tech seems to be "more compatible" with this monitor basically you can do more 3D stuff using ATI cards and this monitor. I still love this monitor though even with 75% 3D
@Pallepop909 Nvidia uses their own technology for 3d, all other major movie studios and TV manufacturers uses Frame sequential. And even if Samsung can work on both video cards, its alot more tweaking on nvidia cards. so yeah this monitor is built for ATI, but it will work on Nvidia. of course some game its just a lost cause, Duke Nukem was such a mess, so many ghosting. but if you want Real 3D to work, ati is the way to go with frame sequential..
@Pallepop909 Sources? I own this monitor. I wish it was bullshit. But unless you have Nvidia Glass, Nvidia certified monitor, and a Nvidia Card you can't fully utilize Nvidia's version of 3D. In this case this monitor is not recognized by Nvidia so it doesn't work fully with Nvidia's 3D tech. Now this monitor does work with Nvidia cards but you can't fully utilize all aspects of 3D because its not considered compatible with Nvidia's tech, which means you can't use 100% of whats possible with 3D.
@skyline826 Sorry my answer was not clear. But Nvidia does not support "Frame Sequential" which some programs support. So say you wanted to watch a 3D blu ray on your computer, it won't work. Say you wanted to play some games in full res 3D it won't work sometimes, the game will use a down sampled version of the res. Now this monitor supports watching 3D blu rays and Full res 3D games in some cases, but not with Nvidia. Nvidia uses a separate tech that works well with Nvidia glasses and monitors
Well, I would have considered this but I wanted something bigger to replace my defective HannsG 27" monitor (never buy ANYTHING from HannsG--they are the worst company I EVER dealt with). So I just bought a Panasonic TC-L37DT30 LED TV--240HZ--2ms response--3D. Reviews say no input lag AT ALL. Will use it for gaming on my PC. Will have it in one more day--but this looks pretty cool too.
@Receptical yep, I recently bought GTX480 and wanted this monitor, I should of bought an Ati :( Damn Nvidia not supporting Frame Sequencial (Real 3D) !!! ... would you still recommend this moinitor for nvida users ? Because 650$ ain`t cheap
@lordpatrice I would suggest that if you want to use this monitor to its full capability it would be best to use an ATI card. With a Nvidia card and this monitor you CAN'T play 3D blue-rays, use programs and games that support Frame sequential 3D, not yet anyways... maybe with updates, but I wouldn't count on it. Although if you just care about super fast 2D then Nvidia is fine. I'm using a Nvidia card right now, I'm still keeping this monitor even though I'm only using 75% of the monitor. =\
@Receptical just ordered this monitor, soon I will buy a new pc, my core2 duo e8500 is getting old, so i'll get an Ati card for my new rig. in the mean time, i'll play with the 3d features, and enjoy an amazing 2D monitor :)
I have this monitor and it does support 120hz @ 1080p via the DVI to DVI connection or Displayport to DVI or Displayport to DVI. For some reason it only supports 60hz via the HDMI... which is odd considering the amount of bandwidth a HDMI 1.4 can give =/
@PaoXeR Doesn't your gtx 570 have two DVI ports? You can just do DVI to the DVI in the back of the monitor. But if you really want to you can try DVI to DP cable and 120hz will work, spec wise the are the same in the manual, although the setup is different.
@Receptical Oh I forgot to mention that it's the S27A750D I'm getting when it is released. It only has a HDMI and displayport. So I kinda hope It'll work with a DVI to DP cable, otherwise I might have to buy another GTX 570 with a DP port, and run it in SLI mode. I'm in love with that monitor lol. :)
@PaoXeR You can but i wouldn't recommend this monitor unless you don't mind seeing ur own reflection jerk off. Yeah... point made. This monitor is a godamn mirror
@DigitalExplosives When its on too. Especially if ur on a webpage with a black background or dull colours. When background is all white then u dont have the problem, rest of the time its like... urrrgh
@0perativeX You could say that for any surface that reflects light and you put a darker background to it, car windows, glasses, paintwork, even a window when it is dark outside and you have the lights on, i have this monitor and i have no problems with it, maybe look at your room light sources.
@DigitalExplosives I learned the hard way. I bought this monitor, hated it, sold it on ebay a week later then bought i different model and i'm loving it coz it doesn't reflect light at me. Lesson learned
i just got this, even tho i didnt order this one, i ordered S27A750D. So i guess im lucky, getting a more expensive one for the price of the other lol!
thanks again receptical. can you post another video after some time with the monitor maybe in use to see reflection (light on in room while playing something, video, game, anything) or any options you can utilize with the monitor. maybe your impressions of the 3d or 2d to 3d rendering.
have you seen "linus tech tips" video on the samsung C27A750X monitor. cool features
almost bought this earlier this week from NCIX. Glad I decided to wait for Linus to do a review on it first, which should be out soon i imagine. After watching his video on the C27A750X I'll hold out for the T27A950 version and hope IT comes with the auto wireless detection integrated into usb hub.. OR wait and see options that come with samsungs new Super-PLS monitor with 2560x1600 resolution.
So glad I saw this video thanks receptical been waiting since january to see it more in depth.
Damn you Samung for making this monitor unnecessarily glossy. I take it the mirror factory gave you free mirrors!!

@0perativeX yeah when it's off!
DigitalExplosives 7 months ago
@DigitalExplosives When its on too. Especially if ur on a webpage with a black background or dull colours. When background is all white then u dont have the problem, rest of the time its like... urrrgh
0perativeX 7 months ago
@0perativeX You could say that for any surface that reflects light and you put a darker background to it, car windows, glasses, paintwork, even a window when it is dark outside and you have the lights on, i have this monitor and i have no problems with it, maybe look at your room light sources.
DigitalExplosives 7 months ago
@DigitalExplosives Not everybody lives in a perfectly dark lightless room troll
0perativeX 6 months ago
@0perativeX idiot, you can have a perfectly lit room without having the light source directly behind the monitor, learn some things why don't you.

@DigitalExplosives I learned the hard way. I bought this monitor, hated it, sold it on ebay a week later then bought i different model and i'm loving it coz it doesn't reflect light at me. Lesson learned

@NinjaAntx Its DVI connection does do 120Hz @ 1080p 1920x1080, but the HDMI connection is not as impressive at times.

thanks again receptical. can you post another video after some time with the monitor maybe in use to see reflection (light on in room while playing something, video, game, anything) or any options you can utilize with the monitor. maybe your impressions of the 3d or 2d to 3d rendering.
have you seen "linus tech tips" video on the samsung C27A750X monitor. cool features
brettpahl 8 months ago
@brettpahl Hey thanks, no problem! I'm in the process of reviewing the monitor I'll add your input. Ya Linus does great videos =)
Receptical 8 months ago
almost bought this earlier this week from NCIX.
