  • Damn you Samung for making this monitor unnecessarily glossy. I take it the mirror factory gave you free mirrors!!

Was considering this monitor, yet seeing as I often hit 300-500+ people LANs this will allow me to see everyone behind me. I won't lie, though, this monitor looks damn gorgeous.

Anyone think the Acer S273HLB is a good choice? (it's not 3D compatible)

  • Ale się podniecił

  • is this good for gaming?/

  • @ajeemama Excellent for 2D gaming @120Hz through a DVI-D port or DP checkout the review vid

  • amazing

  • Classic music ))) *THUMBS UP*

  • Dats the ENERGY!

  • @USArmySGT40 But this monitor has twice the speed of most monster 30" screens it can do 120Hz in 2D at 2ms GTG I don' t think a 120Hz 2560x1600 monitor exist yet. If it does exist please point me too it :)

  • Meh for another $500 rather have a monster 30 inch 2560 x 1600 ips panel thanks but no. 1080p is soo 2008.

  • @USArmySGT40 1080p is soo 2008? Lol you sound like a fashion girl xD And still Full HD is what most people still use (and it's still good), though ive never seen 2560 x 1600 yet. And as Receptical says why use more money for a 3'' bigger slower monitor? At that point screw the 2560 x 1600 and go for 1080p (Full HD) 2ms with 3D option..

  • 2D mode on this monitor is perfect

  • Ordered mine today, feel bad caus its alot money. but iknow its good. got a Samsung 2233rz very good 120hz screen , not as good and big as this one tho:)

  • Does it have a USP in?

  • Can you run dual monitor setup on those 3d monitors?

  • @iPoopTech Ya thats possible in 2D, but you can't mount them or disconnect them from the stand. Although I don't know if you can do duel 3D with the screens

  • @Receptical Is this better than the ACER S243HL?

  • @SP1D3RMAN75 Yes S27A950D is better. The Acer S243HL has a great price and looks cool, but thats. When it comes to speed and color reproduction the SA950 is a lot better and it can do 3D too... but it also cost 3 times as much as the Acer =[

  • @Receptical Thanks :)

  • Thank you - I spent hours looking at other reviews (both utube and text) and you were the first to actually read out the model number of the glasses. I am fully aware of the issues involved with supposed compatibility of the glasses across various Samsung 3D TV and monitors. It was getting to the point that I was seriously thinking of posting my own "in Box" review and making a point of stating the 3D glasses model number for the reference of other potential buyers. Ta mate..

  • NCIX just got my money, got 150 bucks off the regular price this week until the 4th of January, just had to get one.

  • Only pity thing about this monitor is that the 3D mode gives me great headache after just a few minutes.

  • so if i want to play my games through a hdmi cable id have to get a 60 hz cable?

  • @DrunkenMunk123 Well it depends on what your gonna use it for. PC 2D I would choose this SA950D, 3D PC there are some great 3D monitors out there but they cost a bit more, PS3/XBOX look into the PlayStation TV... good luck

  • how do you switch it to work on a hdmi cable in 120hz?

  • @jaredp100390 It will only work in 3D @ 120Hz (60 per eye) in 2D it will only get to around 60 - 89Hz

  • @Receptical so if i want to play my games through a hdmi cable id have to get a 60 hz cable?

  • @jaredp100390

dont use hdmi for 3d gaming its crap 50/60 HZ in 720p or 1080p in 24 HZ

    DVI 120 HZ at 1080p

  • @jaredp100390 I think you need to use a dual link DVI cable for 120Hz, 3D and 1080p to work

  • @jaredp100390 if you use a dual link dvi cable instead of hdmi, you can get 120hz on 2d with this monitor.

  • Can you use this to play PS3 in 3D?

  • @xD3S1x Yup if you have a 1.4 HDMI cable you can

  • Can this be wall-mounted with vesa-standards or is it stuck on the stand?

  • @CimInc You can't remove the stand, this monitor is not built to be mounted.

  • Thanks for the Video, I am looking into getting this monitor this week, I mainly want it for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, do you recommend this for gaming? Will appreciate your reply. thank you.

    .

  • @DENISPAVONZ1973 Excellent for 2D Gaming, ok for 3D gaming.

  • kinda dum question i know but is 3D optional on this monitor? my friend bought a samsung monitor some time ago and he was forced to view 3d all the time

  • @Loliaz There is a 3D button on the monitor you can press that lets you turn the 3D on and off at will.

  • @Receptical

Thanks man :) you just made a my day i ordered it 2 days ago

  • i also want one =((

  • Can you do stuff like Increase Convergence and whatnot with the 3D? cuz I know with 3D Vision you can, and it makes the depth much better :-)

  • @1981z28camaro Ya you can with the 3D menu buttons there is a Depth controller, Also with the Tridef software you can adjust the "Convergence" for each game as much as you like. Although I'll warn you this is not a great 3D monitor, if you want this for 3D mainly there are better 3D monitors out there, this is a excellent 2D monitor but just an "OK" 3D monitor.

  • @Receptical ok, cool, thanks for the info :-)

  • Comment removed

  • I plan on getting this monitor. Do you find that 2d to 3d conversion is the best?

  • @kiball09 Its "OK" its hit and miss, sometimes is cool and other times you get crosstalk distortions and strange 3D warping, so not the best, its just kinda of a fun gimmick for home videos.

  • how is the blacklevel on this?

  • What do you think about the resolution? I have the same one, i think it feels to low res. Everythings huge. 1080p feels to low for 27". Have u noticed this?

  • how long does the battery for the glasses last

  • @fred12662000 I hear about 15 hours... but I got this 3 months ago and I've not had to buy new batteries yet... but I don't use 3D much.

  • @Receptical well you took so long to reply i went out and bought my own lol

  • lol 72 inch...

  • @mattburgess18 lol oops

  • Can you upload a input lag test please and send me a message?

Just like "pi2OE6hSh00" and "TjePCW02U78" please.

That would help me alot! You can also record you while playing and showing your monitor and mice at same time.

  • lol... how many people make that "proud" exhale when opening boxes??

    "Ahhhhh"

    We are fucking weird creatures

  • $540 but no stock

  • @rockafella813 ETA 25th.

  • @Bluesage2009 where? I been getting Oct 5 earliest

  • its $540 in Australia

  • @sathiraMG :) sure is.

Gotta love the aussie dollar :D

  • Comment removed

  • how much money you spend on it?

  • i´ll just wait for another monitor frm thid series that supports nvidia 3d tech

  • hy, i saw in another video that this monitor does not support nvidia 3d techonology. Does it mean that with my gtx590 i wont be able to watch anything in 3d? and if so is there anything i can do to overcome this problem, like an adaptor, or something?

  • I'm so buying one of these for my new rig when they come back in stock

  • Does anyone knows if the dvi cable provided by the monitor is dual link or single link?

  • @ASCIISyaeZ It comes with one DVI-Duel Cable.

  • @Receptical Thankz alot for the reply, great unboxing! cant wait to get mine

  • don't like the glossy ay

  • This will be my next ..Game Monitor...

wish this monitor play on 3d with the glasses from cinema ..like the new LG monitors!

  • @gitabad Yea, but the new LG is not full hd res, because it uses the same tech that passive 3d uses, and you will only get a res of 540p each eye, but with active 3d you get full 1080p HD.

  • i have nvidea 3d glass and i want to buy this led bec i want 2 3d glass to watch movies in 3d with friends

  • @skyline826 This monitor is not compatible with the Nvidia 3D glasses =( . I tried with a pair that my friend had the Nvidia setup program refused to recognize this monitor as a 3D monitor. Maybe with updates... but currently it is not compatible.

  • @Receptical Mmmmm ATI cards only !!!!!!!

  • I got this monitor yesterday, and I would recommend it to anyone, even if you have an Nvidia card. I've played many games, since yesterday, and the 2d quality is very impressive, on the PS3 the most impressive game I played in 3D is Killzone 3, on the PC Bordelands, and world of warcraft looks amazing, BFBC2 looks really good too :) In duke Nukem forever theres too many ghosting right now :(

Compagny of Heroes, starcraft II, League of Legends all look good in 3D.

  • THIS MONITOR NEEDS ATI VIDEO CARD O NVIDIA?

  • @zeusgod007 ATI can use 100% of this monitor. Nvidia can only use 75% of this monitor.

  • @Receptical how so?

  • @Receptical please clarify, i don't understand that awnser ^_^

  • @cDSTheBlackRose Essentially Nvidia has its own type of 3D that works great, but only if you use all Nvidia stuff. I'm not sure why Samsung didn't make their monitor fully compatible with Nvidia's 3D tech but you can't fully use all 3D features that Nvidia has to offer with this monitor. Although it seems that ATI cards and 3D tech seems to be "more compatible" with this monitor basically you can do more 3D stuff using ATI cards and this monitor. I still love this monitor though even with 75% 3D

  • @Receptical source ? cause this sounds like alot of bullshit

  • @Pallepop909 Nvidia uses their own technology for 3d, all other major movie studios and TV manufacturers uses Frame sequential. And even if Samsung can work on both video cards, its alot more tweaking on nvidia cards. so yeah this monitor is built for ATI, but it will work on Nvidia. of course some game its just a lost cause, Duke Nukem was such a mess, so many ghosting. but if you want Real 3D to work, ati is the way to go with frame sequential..

  • @Pallepop909 Sources? I own this monitor. I wish it was bullshit. But unless you have Nvidia Glass, Nvidia certified monitor, and a Nvidia Card you can't fully utilize Nvidia's version of 3D. In this case this monitor is not recognized by Nvidia so it doesn't work fully with Nvidia's 3D tech. Now this monitor does work with Nvidia cards but you can't fully utilize all aspects of 3D because its not considered compatible with Nvidia's tech, which means you can't use 100% of whats possible with 3D.

  • @Receptical why nvidea 75% ?!

  • @skyline826 Sorry my answer was not clear. But Nvidia does not support "Frame Sequential" which some programs support. So say you wanted to watch a 3D blu ray on your computer, it won't work. Say you wanted to play some games in full res 3D it won't work sometimes, the game will use a down sampled version of the res. Now this monitor supports watching 3D blu rays and Full res 3D games in some cases, but not with Nvidia. Nvidia uses a separate tech that works well with Nvidia glasses and monitors

  • can u swivel ?

  • @lipevolcom2 No swivel, just tilts back 20 degrees.

  • where can i buy it in Usa?

  • Well, I would have considered this but I wanted something bigger to replace my defective HannsG 27" monitor (never buy ANYTHING from HannsG--they are the worst company I EVER dealt with). So I just bought a Panasonic TC-L37DT30 LED TV--240HZ--2ms response--3D. Reviews say no input lag AT ALL. Will use it for gaming on my PC. Will have it in one more day--but this looks pretty cool too.

  • I would rather buy Sony KDL-46HX803 200Htz

  • You live near airport :)

  • Design copied from Acer

    S Series

    S273HLbmii ( ET.HS3HE.001 )

  • @TheEvoss oh, really? are you serious? just because the stand is on a side it's already copied? you're right.

    /s

  • how are general feeling of this monitor? the colours etc

  • @YmCmbZ check out the review!! just posted! =)

  • @Receptical price?

  • @KAMIKAZILMFAO $664.13 CAD it the lowest I've see, but I hear it can get low as $650 US, although I haven't seen that.

  • @Receptical 649.90$ sohodiffusion CDN

My question, do you have an ati or nvidia video card ?

  • Nice the price is going down! I got a Nvidia GTX 570... but I think that this monitor likes ATI cards better =\

  • @Receptical yep, I recently bought GTX480 and wanted this monitor, I should of bought an Ati :( Damn Nvidia not supporting Frame Sequencial (Real 3D) !!! ... would you still recommend this moinitor for nvida users ? Because 650$ ain`t cheap

    thx for reply

  • @lordpatrice I would suggest that if you want to use this monitor to its full capability it would be best to use an ATI card. With a Nvidia card and this monitor you CAN'T play 3D blue-rays, use programs and games that support Frame sequential 3D, not yet anyways... maybe with updates, but I wouldn't count on it. Although if you just care about super fast 2D then Nvidia is fine. I'm using a Nvidia card right now, I'm still keeping this monitor even though I'm only using 75% of the monitor. =\

  • @Receptical just ordered this monitor, soon I will buy a new pc, my core2 duo e8500 is getting old, so i'll get an Ati card for my new rig. in the mean time, i'll play with the 3d features, and enjoy an amazing 2D monitor :)

    Thx for the replys

  • i subcribed to you because i want to see the review.

  • does it do 120hz @ 1080p? i know some monitors claim 120hz but at like 1600 x 1050.

  • @NinjaAntx

I have this monitor and it does support 120hz @ 1080p via the DVI to DVI connection or Displayport to DVI or Displayport to DVI. For some reason it only supports 60hz via the HDMI... which is odd considering the amount of bandwidth a HDMI 1.4 can give =/

  • @0perativeX So can i use a HDMI to dvi adapter to get 120 out of my HDMI?

  • @0perativeX So I have no displayport in my gtx 570, can I just buy a DVI to Displayport cable then and get 120hz to work?

  • @PaoXeR Doesn't your gtx 570 have two DVI ports? You can just do DVI to the DVI in the back of the monitor. But if you really want to you can try DVI to DP cable and 120hz will work, spec wise the are the same in the manual, although the setup is different.

  • @Receptical Oh I forgot to mention that it's the S27A750D I'm getting when it is released. It only has a HDMI and displayport. So I kinda hope It'll work with a DVI to DP cable, otherwise I might have to buy another GTX 570 with a DP port, and run it in SLI mode. I'm in love with that monitor lol. :)

  • @PaoXeR You can but i wouldn't recommend this monitor unless you don't mind seeing ur own reflection jerk off. Yeah... point made. This monitor is a godamn mirror

  • @0perativeX yeah when it's off!

  • @DigitalExplosives When its on too. Especially if ur on a webpage with a black background or dull colours. When background is all white then u dont have the problem, rest of the time its like... urrrgh

  • @0perativeX You could say that for any surface that reflects light and you put a darker background to it, car windows, glasses, paintwork, even a window when it is dark outside and you have the lights on, i have this monitor and i have no problems with it, maybe look at your room light sources.

  • @DigitalExplosives Not everybody lives in a perfectly dark lightless room troll

  • @0perativeX idiot, you can have a perfectly lit room without having the light source directly behind the monitor, learn some things why don't you.

  • @DigitalExplosives I learned the hard way. I bought this monitor, hated it, sold it on ebay a week later then bought i different model and i'm loving it coz it doesn't reflect light at me. Lesson learned

  • @0perativeX what ever makes you happy mate, that is all that counts in life :)

  • You have lights on? OMG not a true gamer (joking). lol

  • @NinjaAntx Its DVI connection does do 120Hz @ 1080p 1920x1080, but the HDMI connection is not as impressive at times.

  • 23 or 27 inch?

  • @TheKudatua This is the 27 inch model

  • Are the 3D glasses rechargable?

  • @makeme708 No, they come with batteries.

  • Awesome, can't wait for the review. Please make sure whether or not this supports 2d/120hz!

  • @KaiserBecks Review coming soon, this supports 2D at 120Hz

  • NIce review dude.Im also getting this.

  • i just got this, even tho i didnt order this one, i ordered S27A750D. So i guess im lucky, getting a more expensive one for the price of the other lol!

  • Planet Earth running in the background?! :)

Nice unboxing video, getting mine next week.

  • @ilkhani82 you guessed it! sharp ears =)

  • Comment removed

  • nice review

  • love your unboxing video, nicely done, great music too! ;p

  • @Axilya Thanks its my first one =)

  • thanks again receptical. can you post another video after some time with the monitor maybe in use to see reflection (light on in room while playing something, video, game, anything) or any options you can utilize with the monitor. maybe your impressions of the 3d or 2d to 3d rendering.

have you seen "linus tech tips" video on the samsung C27A750X monitor. cool features

  • @brettpahl Hey thanks, no problem! I'm in the process of reviewing the monitor I'll add your input. Ya Linus does great videos =)

  • almost bought this earlier this week from NCIX. Glad I decided to wait for Linus to do a review on it first, which should be out soon i imagine. After watching his video on the C27A750X I'll hold out for the T27A950 version and hope IT comes with the auto wireless detection integrated into usb hub.. OR wait and see options that come with samsungs new Super-PLS monitor with 2560x1600 resolution.

So glad I saw this video thanks receptical been waiting since january to see it more in depth.

  • planning to pick this up tommorow

  • Nice screen and good video;)

  • Hi, can I place an order and ask to ship to the US?

    Please, let me know.

  • @2MakeTheDifference I believe a couple of Canadian retailers might ship to the US. Check for yourself shopbot.ca search S27A950D
