IM from Boulder CO and was there that same day with my church. About 15 minutes after we left...a body surfer died. Life guards couldnt get to him

here are the stages

1. instantly thrown around like in a car accident with no seatbelt

2. you wonder when it will let you up (you feel powerless)

3. you cant hold breath any longer

4. most surfers start to panic by flailing arms and grabbing for the surface.

5.you loose all concentracion and awarness of time.

6. finnaly it lets you up, you gasp and usually you have "spotted" vision

7. you live to see another day

actually no, i know who the kid is...his name is Cameron Ferris and he's a surfer grom from HB. Have never seen him at wedge before this weekend and know for a fact that he, along with a majority of those that were out, had no clue as to how to ride that wave. they hear the hype and rush down there without any knowledge, making irrational decisions as to what their limits are. i know Cameron has charged big waves in Hawaii but Wedge is a whole other beast.
