I hve a similar set from the EARLY 1990's my grandfather RIP bought it for me and it STILL runs, and I have put ZERO maintenence into it!

I hate the spin on Lionel ads. Lionel has much better looking locomotives to offer in starter sets. If it is a "cut the cost" and "throw away set", well then that's what will happen. And we will lose another 3 rail operater.

a UP big boy, a pennsylvania makado, a bershire, a chessie gp 38 i think, a small steam yard engion, a pennsylvania flyer, and a gp 8. i have a few others that r HO and like 2 of the engion that came with this set.
