My own analysis of why Hitler targeted these children first was Hitlers maladaptive coping mechanism to the child abuse he received from his step father. Hitler was trying to kill a part of him he felt weak and the ideal of a perfect race was another maladaptive coping mechanism to compensate for his feelings of inferiority. He had serious self esteem issues due to his traumatic childhood. All his actions were self serving as a demented fix for his fragile ego. He was a psychopath.
