thats so stupid, when the walking fish came out. so funny, yet so stupid, because its not real. man, that guy is becoming delusional, too much time in the lab has got him going crazy. mabye he and the fish traded places or something.
Given Time-Space as far as we know is infinite, I think evolution & creation are two sides of the same coin. If we evolved say, then perhaps we will eventually unlock the science of life creation, genetic programming etc. Now if we can conceive this as a possibility, then we should perhaps consider it a possibility that we were created - perhaps by a species that evolved and was not created - as far they perceive.
I believe some type of being, God or Aliens, or whatever, put our DNA samples in some type of protein ooze and we evolved. There is way way way more evidence of evolution then just *boom* "Let there be humans!"-God
People really need to learn not to put so much faith in something with no proof except faith. I'm not saying don't believe in a higher being, but we evolved, and by the way, males and females have the same number of rib bones.
the rib stuff is metaforicall. actually what it says in the Bible is that God used DNA from Adam to create Eve(that is certain) and altered it a bit . The other thing that may be implied is that before that humans coud reproduce by devision .
well. let's see: the Bible says: And God took a part of Adam and created Eve (the part with the rib is not present in older translations). The fact that I understand that part to be DNA is just my believe. And I think is the most logical option, if you want to leave it on a scientific level.
@Phranky you can force it, the outcome just has a price to pay, everything does. there is no can't, try, or impossible, there is but time till the possible and the consequences of right or wrong
I may be a Creationist but I am not opposed to the possibility of God using evolution. I hate how so many Creationists and Christains think evolution and atheism are the same thing, they are just not.
Personally I think anyone who has their faith in Christ hurt by evolution is ignorant.
meh.. have you guys heard of the snakeheads? their fishes that can survive on land for hours or days something like that... they eat meat though like small rats, frogs, toads, small birds.....
they're now in the united states i believe, i remember hearing that they were brought here in the usa, long time ago,. but they still exist. and i think their in asia.... i'm not sure if we in the united states still have them.
I'm going to have to disagree with Adol. The Outer Limits is not good science fiction. While science fiction is speculative, it really needs not to include theories that have been proven wrong.
Evolution is not predetermined by coding in our cells. Evolution happens when random changes occur that benefit an individual, allowing it to pass those changes on to its offspring. It does not happen by pressing a "Cue Evolution" button.
not benefit the organism but rather to benefit the current environment the organism finds itself faced with.
eg at this time in our evolution its a benefit to have a large brain, but something may happen to our environment that having a big brain is of no benefit. so we may have to step back to go forward.
this fish is not special. IT ALREADY EXISTS PEOPLE. A decent example is the African eel catfish which walks on land from pool of water to pool of water this guy just took a back step. LOSER. love this show though lol
Go ahead and delete my comment, Jason, but this episode IS racist. Of all the people he had to go through to pick the most "genetically fit," he only ended up picking Caucasians. Now tell me, how is that not racist?
LoL fair enough. I was a science junkie when I was a kid, so I tend to be overly critical sometimes. Anyway, the problem I had with this is the idea that evolution is a process desiged to move in a specific direction as opposed to a process that conforms to an environment - the whole intron-activated mutation and spaceships I had no problems with. :D
Whoa! That was impressive. Not me, I was a science fiction junkie when I was a kid... never did worry about how possible or impossible it could be. But at least you didn`t get mad at me for disagreeing with you, and that`s nice. See you around the sicence fiction channels. Happy New Year!

You can't force evolution because it relies on random mutation and external factors (which we can't predict).

The creators of this show seem to know about as much about evolution as the creators of Star Trek Voyager (see Threshold).

Because racism is the Hatred displayed by one group of people towards any given race.
The scenario in this episode dose not propagate hatred of any degree and, therefor, does not promote racism.

Outer Limits is what Good Scifi Should be. Making you think about the moral and Philisophical, not some Arnold blast the Aliens action shooter.

Right
Just like e.g. StarTrek used to be
Nowadays basically an excuse for special effects/action
