@alanr979 your realize stock for stock both cars are the same speed right? the 2.2l in the ap2 with a lower rev line is just as fast as the ap1 with the 2.0l with the 9k redline. My buddy has an AP1 and I have an AP2 and all out we always end up tied.
ya but the vtec kicks in at roughly 6000rpm-9000....where most cars are blowing up, the s2k is gaining most its power.
Rather than shifting at 6 or 7 and having to climb back up to vtec...
SHIFT at 9000rpm and ur next gear will already be in vtec! thats the advantages this car has.. bring an s2000 onto a track and u'll never look at a 350z again.
i had a 01 s2000 with an ap2 swap ..smoked my buddy in his 350 on the racetrack, drift track. but lost on drag strip.. but neither are drag cars
Hold the tear together with duct tape on the outside then use shoegoo on the inside. Once it dries you can take the tape off and clean off the residue. I have a tear repaired like this and it holds up well in rain and all. Superglue cracks and tape looks tacky
@ldpldsldv it used to be 9000 on earlier models. its called vtec!!! the vtec is like a big boost in power...at around 6000rpm the vtec kicks in. so where most cars are about to blow up the s2000 is gaining in power.... great on racetracks while going thru tight corners..u can keep it in 2nd or sometimes even 1st while going thru a real tight corner and have ur rpm high enough that once u come out of the turn ur vtec is only 1000 rpm away. vroom baby vroom. fuck i miss my s2000 more than my bike
i think 2006 was the first year you could get a reflash from hondata right? i want to buy a 2004-2005 because the rims and the seats are a little better than the 06+???
too bad these cars make no fucking torque..

Man its sad the the Newer U.S. S2000 only revved to 8k rpm. I am fortunate enough to own an original that revs to 9k.

God damn, the gearing is short! Third runs out only to 80, about where 2nd ends on an HR 350Z.
