I'm sorry to say that I'm disappointed. I was really hoping I'd like Nightwish as much with Anette as I did with Tarja, but I definitely don't. Anette is a fine singer, but her vocal style is so different that it really changes the sound of the band. I wish they'd found someone who has a style more like Tarja.
@scott93933 Copy is always less valuable than something new. I totally accepted Anette's style of singing, I only wish she'd improved her skills (thankfully, she keeps doing it).
@zephranna01 I disagree, she is not pop. Also she has a very strong voice, in a rock music sense a stronger one than Tarja. I don't know how symphonic Nightwish will stay, but they may very well become heavier and more metal with Anette.
DPP was written and mostly even recorded before Anette came in. You can hear that sometimes she has to struggle with her range, although she grew into it (and most of the old stuff, too).
About the next album she says that Tuomas nailed her range and technique perfectly. So I think that will be very different.

Gig was awesome. Nightwish just rocked all the place and each and every fan. People were smiling, they were crying, they were clapping and singing along with the band.
Nightwish members were, sure, positively surprised by the audience furious reaction ;) and were amazed be the present we gave them ^__^
They're really great, believe me. Each one of them, no matter what people talk about :)

Every single gig? Have you actully been to one? Don't use crappy youtube videos as an example. I saw her on 11th of march in London and she nailed almost every single song. Of course I've been to see them with her 'fronting' them and it was a complete anti-climax... That's why I feel so STRONGLY that they should boot her out. Her voice was so flimsy that Marco had to keep carrying her with his vocals. It was embarrassing! As a matter of fact she sounds EVEN WORSE when you are in the actual venue, the compression on the recording devices for the Youtube clips make her sound better than she really sounds when you're in the room with them live. I feel so sorry for you. I understand 16 year olds complaining about how their favorite band died (slitwrists*slitwrists*tear), but seeing a grown-up person being so damn focused about something they don't like, that's really sad. I can compare Anette with anyone I want to. Just because Anette Olzon isnt a shallow hater like you who expects people to have one role only, it dosent mean that she doesent feel metal. On her free time she listens to metal that is a lot heavier than Nightwish is. And she also listens to pop. Yeah, they can make music no problem BUT what's the point if your vocalist RUINS all the beautiful music you create? So what choice do they have? It's unfortunate but I will completely understand if the are forced to drop her. It's strange they aren't filming their final gig of the tour... I wonder why? I would have thought they would really want a memento of the final gig; especially if they were happy with how things have gone during their two year tour.

I wonder what makes you think I'm a Tarja fan? I only have respect singers who can sing their material. She struggles at EVERY single gig. Never mind only one more gig of torture then they can boot her out and get a vocalist with a more suitable voice. Of course I've been to see them with her 'fronting' them and it was a complete anti-climax... That's why I feel so STRONGLY that they should boot her out. Her voice was so flimsy that Marco had to keep carrying her with his vocals. It was embarrassing! As a matter of fact she sounds EVEN WORSE when you are in the actual venue, the compression on the recording devices for the Youtube clips make her sound better than she really sounds when you're in the room with them live. So sad...

I feel so sorry for you. I understand 16 year olds complaining about how their favorite band died (slitwrists*slitwrists*tear), but seeing a grown-up person being so damn focused about something they don't like, that's really sad. You should normally have a family, kids, a job or at least some daily problems to keep yourself busy with. But then again, apparently you don't.

In MY opinion she can sing old songs. That's an OPINION, it's NOT the truth. There as as many opinions as listeners. One likes classical singing and the other one normal singing. I prefer Anette's voice, ast least it doesn't break my ears...
