And I'm glad you brought up herd immunity. This phenomenon is the product of mass vaccination. There was a decline in herd immunity to MMR when people got scared of the vaccine and more cases were observed. Herd immunity is not a preventative measure. It is the product of vaccination of the many that provides some protection to the few who aren't. But it doesn't work well with seasonal flu because the mutation rate completely changes the immunity of the herd every year.

Media will play out ANYTHING that's juice and gets lots of viewers to watch with wide open eyes. Government, for the most part, is what controls the media. Medical professionals are under the medical system. Any deviation from this system can result in sever consequences to these medical professionals. Majority of them go with it cuz that's the safest thing to do, I don't blame them. Those who don't, get punished more often than not!
North American health care system is not designed to cure the patient, it's designed to prolong the life of the patient with whatever disease they have! And that's a fact!
Vaccinations should be done only for things that can result in severe diseases, eg. Tetanus, Pertussis, Diphtheria. Vaccines such as the ones for flu are useless for majority of the public, unless they are immunocompromised or have other pre-existing medical conditions that can be exacerbated by the infection.

Therefore it is the responsibility of caregivers to do what they can to reduce their risk of viral transmission. On herd immunity, it doesn't play out the same way with a novel virus. One's chances of dying without underlying conditions are higher. Therefore, vaccinating a whole population has its advantages.
If a person is that immunodeficient, then seasonal flu is the least of their worries. They would already be on a cocktail of medication to prevent a barrage of other much more serious opportunistic infections that can affect them year round. And they are always the first priority when it comes to seasonal vaccines long before the virus begins to infect the population in sufficient enough numbers.
You have a much higher chance of getting the flu than most of the general public out there. And, once again, if an individual is healthy (i.e. no other serious medical conditions), they can fight off the flu without any problems. Point is, again, vaccine those who are at a much higher risk of getting the flu, or those compromised immune system and/or other medical conditions that can be exacerbated. Mass vaccination is pointless, and can be more dangerous at times!

They are called seasonal because once the general population has contracted the seasonal strains and developed immunity, or died, the virus runs out of hosts and begins to die off until it is essentially gone. Is this the beginning of the spin to rationalize and explain the thousands of possible deaths which may occur from the forthcoming, mandatory inoculation against H1N1? Testing of the vaccination only began last week on volunteer test subjects and theyre already projecting shots will be available around mid to late October.
In order to make an October deadline in the quantity necessary to inoculate all Americans, I would imagine they have already started producing the vaccines without waiting on the test results. Any updates on how the test subjects are doing?

My son got the H1N1 vaccine and I am proud to say i made sure he got it.
He is aspergers and fully vaccinated. His dad is aspergers but never vaccinated. So in his case, vaccines are not an issue.
What is an issue is that he has asthma and other respiratory issues from RSV he had as a baby.
I did come down with H1N1 and it is was like a living death I have no complicated health issues.
Those refusing to vaccinate, keep your kids home when sick. You owe that much to the rest of us.
