I believe when that many people violently die in one location, especially in an epic battle like Gettysburg, there has to be a lingering energy that still exists to this day that we cannot fully understand or explain. There are still individuals who perished out there that did not receive a proper burial.

do radio signals exist? Can you see a radio signal? How can people say just because you cant see something it dosnt exist. There are many things out there we dont know and just because we cant see it doesnt meen its not real.
my athiest friend that i always like to argue with from a parapsychologist point of view went there and came back and told me he "expierienced" something and refuses to say anything further...he is now agnostic as opposed to athiest
first off its spelled oujia board and i the oujia board is fake....i didn used to believe but i have seen some valid evidence so i support the study of parapsychology
there are many ways to support ghosts scientifically but i dont want to name them since ive named them SOO many fucking times before im tired of explaining myself over and over again....athiests/agnostics subscribe to thier belief and beleive anything another atheist tells them...and im not a christian either from what i am explaining i HAVE NO religion
My sister in law grew up in getttysburg. She has many stories she has told me about her experiances with the ghosts. When ever I go up there and visit her, we go to the battlefield. It doesn't matter if it's night or day. The gettysburg battlefield never disappoints. From apparitions of soldiers to sounds of cannons. It never disappoints. It is a place to me, that is truley hallowed
not to be mean or anything but to say that you have seen a ghost sounds pretty stupid. Just sounds like those who say it either belive in ghost or just want some stupid story to tell and wants everyone who reads it to say ¨ wow ¨ sorry but i dont belive in ghost. Do not take it presonaly
@NightFiron Actually what is more stupid is making a comment about something which you clearly were not listening to. At no time in this video, did I say I had seen a ghost. I dont take it personally because you sound like a dumbass.

@NightFiron You must believe in ghost s or you wouldn't be viewing this video. I just don't understand why you take the time to comment. Aren't there millions of videos on Youtube that you can believe in?
@NightFiron You must believe in ghosts or you wouldn't be on this site. I think it's real funny when a non-believer goes to a ghost site and comments, and then says that they don't believe in ghosts. Ya, right!!!
@NightFiron actually i respect your opinion and am not going to bash you for it however i was a little "meh maybe ghost aren't real before i went and i saw something i couldn't explain in a picture and when my cousin sends me my pictures back if he doesn't delete them i want to show you them theres no silly orbs but there is a black figure that resembles a person i want you to see
I would hope I could keep it together to ask them some questions and to commend them on their incredible bravery and patriotism to each of their respective causes.
I drove through the Wheatfield at dusk (around 8pm) in early September last year and all the bars on my cell phone disappeared. I had my little Jack Russell with me and he seemed a bit antsy. I was also up at the top of Culp's Hill at around 10pm later that night. That wasn't quite as freaky because there was a group of reenactors just below the summit camping. However, you definitely get the feeling you aren't alone. I think it would be a honor in a way though to have a spirit approach you
That was in the late 1960's. I am near 60 & will never forget that. I am being serious. Was it mass hysteria or not? All I know is that the hair on the nape of my Dad's neck was standing up - he told me to feel it - & he was spooked. He was a Golden Boxing Champ in Detroit when he was young etc. & didn't scare easily. He said 'Let's go! Hurry up! Now! Let's get out of here!' The ghost my that my friend saw said 'That away.' as he pointed the way out of the rocks.
You don't want to be at Devil's Den or Little Round Top at dusk or dark. The Park Rangers will tell you that. Strange things occur there & also at Spangler's Springs to th east of Culp's Hill.
My family & a friend were at DD or LRTop, I forget, near dusk, & a Reb ghost pinted the way out of the rocks for my friend. He was white with fear when he came up out of the rocks and yelling. Then he pointed across the Valley of Death & we could barely see & hear a CSA battleline with its red flags.
Would you rather go all by yourself at night in the dark so you can dared to be scared of ghost????? ( thunders and lightning loud) yee ah hah hah hah hahhhhh! :-D Soooo creepy and it's great. >:-))
my cousin was 10 years old and she was standing in the mid of triangular field and her dad and the park ranger were down the hill when all of a sudden she heard someone whisper her name and then she was grabbed from behind and pulled
Hey, has anybody heard of zook's rock? no lie, if you sneak into the park after 11, and stand on the rock that has a monument plaque of him, you will get pushed off and you will hear a voice bellow "GET OFF OF MY ROCK" I almost pooped my self and my cousin peed himself lol
Sending this message to planet Stupider (am assuming ur a long life resident). The term CIVIL war refers to a war conducted within the bounds of some sort of federal govt. Therefore your assumption that Americans weren't fighting Americans is wrong. Would suggest you look up how many Confederate soldiers that dies actually owned slaves.
or the triangle field cause i saw a crap load i saw a group of confederates shooting at nothing then i call my mom to say look there doing a reanactment but when she gets there tthey disaper true story
My mom was at Harpers Ferry when she saw what looked like the ghost of a soldier and also thought it was a reanactment, but her guide said they don't to those and that has puzzled her since.
(multifacetedmage) YOU are what is wrong with the country-YOU and those like you. Custer HATED Robert E. Lee. They only fought for OPPOSING armies. Y'know, it's F_cktards like you that need to be incarcerated-JUST for mere stupidity. Is that how "Pagans" do things? They simply choose an outcome, and twist the facts to fit their template-No matter HOW ridiculous they wind up sounding? Do us all a favor: Shut up!
(odaimhin) Dude . . . Like: No! I am sick of these neo-commie revisionist who know zip, zero, nada about something and yet spew their anti-American nonsense. I was being nice to the imbecile. I think that that comedian's joke about idiots carrying labeling signs should be a law. Then our friend here would always have something to carry with him.
The True victims of the Civil war were not the forcefully drafted and, regimented soldiers of the north and, the south let alone their supporters but, the Natives of what later on becomes by brute and, cruel force the United States of America.
Thankfully General Armstrong Custer dies in the war of the Greasy Grass which later on comes to be known as Custer's last stand as he and, his men rightfully deserve die at the hands of The Lakota, the Dakota and, the Sioux. Custer was a mean vicious ,vile, disgusting and, repugnant man with no ethics or, morals very much like his friend and, mentor Robert E. Lee.
Lee had no ethics??? And mentor to Custer??? HAHAHA. Where do you pull your pathetic ignorant sense of history from??? I can tell by your use of commas that you aren't educated very well....so this is understandable.
(multifacetedmage) "The Lakota, the Dakota and, the Sioux." Um . . . Hey, Genius . . . The Lakota and Dakota ARE the Sioux. If you don't believe me, go to the Sioux tribe's web site. Or is that too much like "Thinking" for a self-appointed genius like yourself? Here's an idea: Go rattle your beads over your skull candle . . . And then go play in traffic . . .
In the modern day and, age that we are in we still have slaves the only difference is now that they are legal slaves that are the property of the state; property through the Prison system.
I went there in march. We saw heads in trees and bushes. We even saw some ghosts walk across the road! My God I need to go back and do a little Ghost Hunters-like video of ghosts around Gettysbug. I love Gettysburg. There is no other place like it.
My hat is off to you for presenting the Triangular Field as your very first scene. Adjacent to the Devil's Den area, the Triangular Field is seldom ever spoken of when the battle at Gettysburg is explained in a documentary. I am a former Civil War re-enactor and have studied the battle in great depth. I am a realist and have no reason to lie. With that said, I have witnessed first hand a type of supernatural occurrence while visiting the park and I have been told about others.
Right now is the perfect time to go. It gets dark early and the park doesn't close until 7pm. I visited Devil's Den, Slaughter Pen, and Little Round Top and captured many orbs with my camera. It was so fascinating!!
my class and i went there, i took a picture of the graveyard near the sight of the gettysburg address and i saw a few heads looking at me when they were developed, not kidding! Everyone in my class freakd
Someone I knew went there and tried to photograph the field and his camera just stopped working. It was a new digital camera too. He returned it to the Manufacturer and they could not find out what happened to it.
History is written by the victor. Have you ever ask yourself why a lot of farm boys who had never owned a slave would be willing to die so their rich neighbors could keep their slaves? My great great grandfather fought for states rights, an issue that is raising its head again.
thank u for being educated and realizing wht we were fighting for, u know, movies are horrible for learning history, I myself am a reenactor, but one line I like from tht, where a confederate prisoner says, "I'm not fightin for no darkies one way or another" though not the most politically correct thing in the world, kinda says how they werent fighting for slavery, I wish people would realize tht
@TheColonialpatriot what individual soldiers fought for is why the war lasted as long as it did and why it was as gruesome as it was, not why it started. And your farm boys could have desired to own slaves one day or could have been tired of competing with free blacks for jobs and didn't want anymore competition. You don't have to own slaves to like that it being around or to fight for it. Its not hard to understand why a non-slaveholder would still see slavery as a part of his life.
Neither can I. My husband and I are going towards the end of June. He is a part of an organization called the "Son's of Union Vets." and I think they are having their National Convention down there. I purely love to go for the history of the place. So I will have fun gallivanting on my own.

Everyone just shut up! No one needs to repeat history! Can't you all just leave the past in the past? I mean come on! Focus on the future instead, or else the future will become the past!
no, if you forget about the pas then the future will just repeat its self. You dont want history to repeat its self but by turning an blind eye to it, it is bound to happen again.
Lincoln himself wanted to send the coloreds back to Africa, so slavery was not the issue. It became an issue of course, but if it was only that there would have been no war. The south would have slowly gotten rid of slavery. The south had a right to secede, read the Constitution. The south was right!!
"Try opening a book," you say rather than relying on your g-g-grandfather's story.
I wish I could have as much faith in history books as you do. It's no secret that many books have inaccurate information or content that is slanted to reflect the views/agenda of the author or his agents.
"The real issue of the day was "slavery." The ostensible issue was slavery, of course, but the driving force behind all of the issues of the day was money. Some things never change.
What the Battle of Gettysburg proved in my opinion
was that if it was not for Col. Joshua L. Chamberlain, the Union might have lost the battle and the war. Had Gen. Robert E. Lee....a great General mind you..... listened to Lt. Gen. James Longstreet on the third day...Things might have turned out different.
the war was Fought not only cuz the slaves but as bigjames say also cuz a corrupt goverment was a major factor in the war, i doubt the war would have started if it was only about the slaves, it was a Big factor yes so far i agree but there was others to, and of course a Yankeee have a diffrent wiew on it than what a southerner have so u 2 can argue but i am neutral since me no american ;P
Slavery got nothing to do with american civil war, this argument only showed up after the war. Reality is a black person would have a better life in south then in north. Black people fight amongst other rebels. On the north they have separated regiments and only used to do criminal raids on southern states.
The 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that saw extensive federal service in the Union Army during the American Civil War. The regiment was one of the first official black units in the United States armed forces. An earlier regiment of black freedmen, the 1st Rhode Island Regiment, had fought alongside George Washington in the Revolutionary War.
Sadly you have been misinformed. The southern states left the union because they knew Lincoln was against slavery and most of the northern states felt the same way. The U.S. was heading that way. The Northern States which had exploded in manufacturing plants had little use for slaves. Which wasn't the case for the south they needed the cheap labor to continue to do trade. The north wanted to abolish slavery. The south was knew it was just a matter of time. So they tried to leave the union.
Where did you get this information? this is the most common misconception about the civil war ever, The civil war started because of RECESSION not slavery, that was a later issue, however your statement about the immigrants in the manufacturing plants is correct.
Pick up any history book. I explained why the southern states wanted out of the Union. Anti slavery debates and demonstrations were going on long before the war. The south needed slavery to continue their economy. Lincoln was elected as an anti slavery president. The new southern territories were becoming non slave states. There were many squirmishes that ended up killing people before the war started. Recession is what were in now. Secession is what S. Carolina did to trigger the war.
Slavery wasnt a huge issue intill later in the war when britian and france were gonna aid the Southern states, yes it had some things to do with the civil war, but to say that was the only reason or main reason the civil war was fought is just untrue and just shows whoever said it doesnt know what he/she is talking about.
haha Bigjames still flying the confederate flag. Britain and France were anti slavery too and they stayed neutral they traded with both the Union and the south. The south needed slaves otherwise their economy would collapse. They didn't have the big factories that the north had. The new territories were anti slavery states. The south was being squeezed and they didn't want to have the fed telling them how to run things. Let's here your reasons why the war started, Mr. genius.
Nothing wrong with still flying the flag and the reasons the war started were this, not only was the slave thing a issue, but also the federal government wanted to strip States of the right to make choices that effect the country as a whole. The southern states saw this as taking away their freedom's, also when the states wanted to leave the Union, one of the main reasons the Union didnt want to allow it was because of the resources that were in the south. Not everything was fought over slaves
Bigjames- What choices did the fed government want to strip that would effect the country as a whole? What freedoms were the southern states going to lose? Lincoln correctly made the decision that if the states left it would break the Union. It was his duty as president to keep the Union together. South Carolina forced his hand when they took over Fort Sumter. His intentions were to grandfather the states that had slaves. The new territories would be slave free. Slavery was the big issue.
Slavery would have died out like in every other country, no other country had a civil because of that issue. The huge issue here was that the federal government wanted to control the state government's so that the fat cats in DC got a peice of the pie. Before Lincoln was president he actually didnt disagree with slavery as much as he did AFTER the civil war started. He actually didnt mind sending most black back to Africa. To say the whole war was fought over slaves is just untrue...
Everything you type here is false. I don't know where you get your info probably your great great grand daddy. Try opening a book. You can't name an alternate issue that made them secede from the Union. Control what? I proved my point. There were other issues but the real issue of the day was over slavery. There were demonstrations everywhere before the south seceded and Lincoln ran as an anti slavery president from the start.
slavery was not the main reason for the war mmany genrals like Longstreet and lee freed the slave before the war and many who fought for the south fought for their country and yes the main reason for succeeding from the union was because of money the union wanted southern plantation owners to pay more taxes and cut the amount of senators from the south to be in Washington . Longstreet once said if this war was about slaves I would not be here fighting .
...Even General Grant said If this war is only for slavery, then I shall withdraw my commisson, and hand the enemy my sword. Only 10% of southerns even owned slaves, so please sir dont preach 1930 American history book garbage to people. ;) South were fighting for more then letting some rich guys keep slaves, they were fighting for their own independence from a corrupt federal government that still is corrupt to this day.
Bigjames keep drinking your Koolade. The slave labor was crucial for the south's survival. It drove their economy. It's a fact and 1930's American history garbage? I read from all angles. You get yours from your like minded folk that never think outside the box. I have wasted too much time here. Bye
lol Whooping, all you did was repeat the same thing 10 times, even when I gave you facts and a different point of view. Only whooping ure giving, is to the American outlook when it comes to knowledge of history. Typical dumbass Yank ;)
Sorry to burst your bubble but the Southern states were fighting for their right to self government without federal interferance.
Slavery wasn't an issue until Lincoln made it one. Obviusly you don't know much about the war as there were also 'slave' states that were fighting for the Union.
yes they were, thank you, I'm glad there are other educated people left on youtube, I'm a little sensitive to it, being a confederate reenactor, I'm always telling how it was state's rights and NOT slavery tht started the war. thank you for realizing tht
Then explain the Alabama secession decree, slavery is mentioned several times in it; the south seceeded because they were losing power in Washington and knew that eventually the Northern states would have the power to outlaw slavery altogether and they were scared to death. The "r ights" they were fighting for, was the right to self govern, agreed, but in so doing this allowed them to keep their slaves.
Some States went to war for different reasons... some because Lincoln had been elected, some because after Fort Sumter had fallen Lincoln created an army to suppress the south, states like Virginia didn't like that... some believed that they had a right to withdraw from the Union. Race only came into it with the emancipation proclamation read at Gettysburg after the battle by Lincoln but the plans for it were done before Gettysburg.
I'm a teacher of students. I can honestly say that when I teach this topic and show the movie Gettysburg my students whom are mostly of Dominican and Mexican descent respond quite well. They all want to visit Gettysburg. i tell them that its the most haunted place in America. This encourages them to want to go with more fervor and curiosity.
ive been to gettysburg a few times and want to return soon .. not for any sightings .. its a place of respect .. a place of honor .. for both sides .. its something everyone should go and experience at least once
To all of the fallen soldiers of Gettysberg, Hear this, you will forever be remembered as Brave, coragious, and honorable men. Thank you for your sacrifice, may you rest in peace! *salute*

I believe when that many people violently die in one location, especially in an epic battle like Gettysburg, there has to be a lingering energy that still exists to this day that we cannot fully understand or explain. There are still individuals who perished out there that did not receive a proper burial.

I think it would be a honor in a way though to have a spirit approach you
rob3377 1 year ago 3
That was in the late 1960's. I am near 60 & will never forget that. I am being serious. Was it mass hysteria or not? All I know is that the hair on the nape of my Dad's neck was standing up - he told me to feel it - & he was spooked. He was a Golden Boxing Champ in Detroit when he was young etc. & didn't scare easily. He said 'Let's go! Hurry up! Now! Let's get out of here!' The ghost my that my friend saw said 'That away.' as he pointed the way out of the rocks.
christof139 2 years ago
You don't want to be at Devil's Den or Little Round Top at dusk or dark. The Park Rangers will tell you that. Strange things occur there & also at Spangler's Springs to th east of Culp's Hill.
My family & a friend were at DD or LRTop, I forget, near dusk, & a Reb ghost pinted the way out of the rocks for my friend. He was white with fear when he came up out of the rocks and yelling. Then he pointed across the Valley of Death & we could barely see & hear a CSA battleline with its red flags.

History is written by the victor. Have you ever ask yourself why a lot of farm boys who had never owned a slave would be willing to die so their rich neighbors could keep their slaves? My great great grandfather fought for states rights, an issue that is raising its head again.
TheColonialpatriot 2 years ago
thank u for being educated and realizing wht we were fighting for, u know, movies are horrible for learning history, I myself am a reenactor, but one line I like from tht, where a confederate prisoner says, "I'm not fightin for no darkies one way or another" though not the most politically correct thing in the world, kinda says how they werent fighting for slavery, I wish people would realize tht
csaboy27 2 years ago
@TheColonialpatriot what individual soldiers fought for is why the war lasted as long as it did and why it was as gruesome as it was, not why it started. And your farm boys could have desired to own slaves one day or could have been tired of competing with free blacks for jobs and didn't want anymore competition. You don't have to own slaves to like that it being around or to fight for it. Its not hard to understand why a non-slaveholder would still see slavery as a part of his life.

Lincoln himself wanted to send the coloreds back to Africa, so slavery was not the issue. It became an issue of course, but if it was only that there would have been no war. The south would have slowly gotten rid of slavery. The south had a right to secede, read the Constitution. The south was right!!

Slavery got nothing to do with american civil war, this argument only showed up after the war. Reality is a black person would have a better life in south then in north. Black people fight amongst other rebels. On the north they have separated regiments and only used to do criminal raids on southern states.
Jabthecat 2 years ago
The 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that saw extensive federal service in the Union Army during the American Civil War. The regiment was one of the first official black units in the United States armed forces. An earlier regiment of black freedmen, the 1st Rhode Island Regiment, had fought alongside George Washington in the Revolutionary War.
KaraMieka77 2 years ago
Sadly you have been misinformed. The southern states left the union because they knew Lincoln was against slavery and most of the northern states felt the same way. The U.S. was heading that way. The Northern States which had exploded in manufacturing plants had little use for slaves. Which wasn't the case for the south they needed the cheap labor to continue to do trade. The north wanted to abolish slavery. The south was knew it was just a matter of time. So they tried to leave the union.
brysonz 2 years ago
Where did you get this information? this is the most common misconception about the civil war ever, The civil war started because of RECESSION not slavery, that was a later issue, however your statement about the immigrants in the manufacturing plants is correct.
cccspwn 2 years ago
Pick up any history book. I explained why the southern states wanted out of the Union. Anti slavery debates and demonstrations were going on long before the war. The south needed slavery to continue their economy. Lincoln was elected as an anti slavery president. The new southern territories were becoming non slave states. There were many squirmishes that ended up killing people before the war started. Recession is what were in now. Secession is what S. Carolina did to trigger the war.
brysonz 2 years ago
Slavery wasnt a huge issue intill later in the war when britian and france were gonna aid the Southern states, yes it had some things to do with the civil war, but to say that was the only reason or main reason the civil war was fought is just untrue and just shows whoever said it doesnt know what he/she is talking about.
bigjames88 2 years ago
haha Bigjames still flying the confederate flag. Let's here your reasons why the war started, Mr. genius.
brysonz 2 years ago
Nothing wrong with still flying the flag and the reasons the war started were this, not only was the slave thing a issue, but also the federal government wanted to strip States of the right to make choices that effect the country as a whole. The southern states saw this as taking away their freedom's, also when the states wanted to leave the Union, one of the main reasons the Union didnt want to allow it was because of the resources that were in the south. Not everything was fought over slaves
bigjames88 2 years ago
Bigjames- What choices did the fed government want to strip that would effect the country as a whole? What freedoms were the southern states going to lose? Lincoln correctly made the decision that if the states left it would break the Union. It was his duty as president to keep the Union together. South Carolina forced his hand when they took over Fort Sumter. His intentions were to grandfather the states that had slaves. The new territories would be slave free. Slavery was the big issue.
brysonz 2 years ago
Slavery would have died out like in every other country, no other country had a civil because of that issue. The huge issue here was that the federal government wanted to control the state government's so that the fat cats in DC got a peice of the pie. Before Lincoln was president he actually didnt disagree with slavery as much as he did AFTER the civil war started. He actually didnt mind sending most black back to Africa. To say the whole war was fought over slaves is just untrue...
bigjames88 2 years ago
Everything you type here is false. I don't know where you get your info probably your great great grand daddy. Try opening a book. You can't name an alternate issue that made them secede from the Union. Control what? I proved my point. There were other issues but the real issue of the day was over slavery. There were demonstrations everywhere before the south seceded and Lincoln ran as an anti slavery president from the start.
brysonz 2 years ago
slavery was not the main reason for the war mmany genrals like Longstreet and lee freed the slave before the war and many who fought for the south fought for their country and yes the main reason for succeeding from the union was because of money the union wanted southern plantation owners to pay more taxes and cut the amount of senators from the south to be in Washington . Longstreet once said if this war was about slaves I would not be here fighting .
marchmaddness2010 2 years ago
...Even General Grant said If this war is only for slavery, then I shall withdraw my commisson, and hand the enemy my sword. Only 10% of southerns even owned slaves, so please sir dont preach 1930 American history book garbage to people. ;) South were fighting for more then letting some rich guys keep slaves, they were fighting for their own independence from a corrupt federal government that still is corrupt to this day.
bigjames88 2 years ago
Bigjames keep drinking your Koolade. The slave labor was crucial for the south's survival. It drove their economy. It's a fact and 1930's American history garbage? I read from all angles. Sorry to burst your bubble but the Southern states were fighting for their right to self government without federal interferance.
Slavery wasn't an issue until Lincoln made it one. Obviusly you don't know much about the war as there were also 'slave' states that were fighting for the Union.
Deecee1978 2 years ago 5
yes they were, thank you, I'm glad there are other educated people left on youtube, I'm a little sensitive to it, being a confederate reenactor, I'm always telling how it was state's rights and NOT slavery tht started the war. thank you for realizing tht
csaboy27 2 years ago
