This is probably the most well known single instrumental ever, right across the world - The Shadows playing Apache!!! Nobody has done it before and nobody has done it better since!!! Even the Ventures can't compete with this!!!

I saw him in Birmingham a few years ago and thought so then,along with other people who were there.Also on certain video clips,his hair looked a little suspect in that respect.I must add that I'm not the only person that suspects the same,but hey,time will tell.

@fenderburns Yes i have herd he may wear a wig before. Who knows? i don't think that he does but is someone that keeps his hair very neat at all times. I do know however he dyes his hair! because Cliff Richard mentions on the Thank You Very Much concert cd 'You must Hank do something about that salt and pepper' Lol wig, dye, who cares? He is such a stylish and talented man!

i was bought up on the shadows by my dad who is 65 im 41 i have seen them live 4 times just one word describes them fantastic

Hank Marvin and the Shadows were unique - they didn't copy anyone but set their own style which has been much copied but never surpassed!! It is still as relative today as it was when it was recorded all those years ago. Musical styles come and they go but true music never dies - this is true music and nobody has ever done better than the Shadows in this style of guitar playing!

@JohnS1704 But thats just the point, Hank is not Joe Satriani, his style is completely diffrent, and "Apache" is a completely diffrent piece of music all together, if its speed your looking for then listen to Hank play "A tall, a tall dark stranger", dont get me wrong, Joe Satriani could make the guitar whine alright, but Hank makes the guitar sing better than anyone can, altho i guess thats down to personal preference

Been quite a while I listened to the old Shad's stuff.... But hearing and seeing this again now, makes me absolutely know that I'll always be a Shadows' fan... Listened so many music, but these golden sounds Hank Marvin gets out of his Strat are just only his, and nobody elses.... Not strange if you imagine he was the first Fender Strat player in the whole European continent....
