btw id try using the ink tube from a ball point pen for the needle to ride in and ill let you know how it works. if its ok with you of course :-)

@DevilMayCry65 Use the candle. It turns a "fo' minute" job into an hour and a half job, but it did the trick. My partner in crime lost his soldering gun. By the time we got the needle and paper clip together, I pretty much wanted to kill him. But, as I say, it worked.

@DevilMayCry65 You can use an 11 gauge guitar string as a needle , that way the needle is all one piece and theres no soldering , or possability of breaking inside the gun . You will have to sharpen the end of the guitar string though . Its easy , all you have to do is snip the end of it at an angle when its all finished .

@wlsktr i read online that to SANITIZE (different from sterilize, which requires the object to be in a pressurized gas chamber for half an hour) things you need to boil it for approx. 5 mins.

@DevilMayCry65 you can solder with a regular lighter but if you have the solder then just go get a soldering pen they dont cost alot get like a 20 or 30 watt pen or gun they work pretty good for this i just finished makin some needles

@SitNDucz i used ink tube from a bic pen. cut the part at the top with no ink and put top of needle into the small tube heat the plastic and pinch then do the same for the papper clip.

like a button on a shirt so when you attatch the motor to the center the holes around it rotate,

thread the bent part through an outer hole button and the rotating outside holes cause the needle to go up and down!

yo...i have given tattoo on a lot of people with a homemade gun but my mine wasn't good as yours. i used a hanger for a paper clip, a thread to rap a needle around it and a black tape to tight stuff around the machine. i sometimes have problems with it but it all worked out good. some turned good some turned out bad. But now that i've seen ur video and some very good tips on making a perfect machine i think i can do this with anyone now. nice video man keep it up.

yeah too fast and its like a knife cutting your skin too slow it will just tear the skin real jagged which willjust fuck up your skin for the tat and the stencil so the speed needs to be just right but cd player motors seem to go about just right if you have the right power cord on it usually a 12v ac to 6v dc it runs the motor just fast enough to do the tat right but it wont burn the motor either so yeah there ya go good luck friend and get tatted

if you don't have the flux...the solder aint gonna melt and it would just deslove..and it won't stay in one place...

flux is just an anti-oxidant, sure it makes soldering easier, but solder will melt and won't desolve and will bond perfectly without flux, just tin your iron tip with a little solder to prevent solder balls

The soldering gun isn't that expensive, you can get one for a little over 20 bucks at radio shack, and if you want your needles to stay together then you'll want to solder them.

this is for everyone thats asking about the button. put the button onto the rotating part of the motor. it causes a circular motion which when you put in the paper clip into the button it will make the IN/OUT effect. thus tattoo.....any more question...im willing to help sitnduck...i myslef am moding this to my likings and will post it up soon.

You can sterilize the needle by putting it in boiling water. That way it is pretty safe.

Instead of making an "L" shape just make it a straight 90 degree angle and slap the motor on there...if its bigger then that..then you need to get something smaller..
