@donifilo Looking at the comments and if you google D.Morenoyou will find him to be born in Turkey,of jewish descent. More probably it is a widespread song all over the balkans, seeing how the peoples lived together in an empire. Let's just enjoy the song/s!

@OrchestrationOnline True that! Although covers is not a new phenomenon, as you might know ;) So higher prob Dario heard it while growing up in Turkey, albeit the song can be heard in many countries. In the greek version they sing " turkiko ciftetelli"...

Yeah, yeah, but this really is a Macedonian song. :) I mean, originally. The lyrics to this version's chorus make no sense (whatsoever!), whereas the Macedonian lyrics are perfectly fitted to the rhythm AND make perfect sense. It's about a girl called Nina (the chorus, that is).
