I suggest you mix blue colour paste to the fondant before making the model. Alternatively, you may use air brush technique but it would a little challenging since the bear is shaggy.
Hi michelle, Love your work.. you are brilliant !!! Ok so i have a question i'm hoping you can answer :) Ive tried making the shaggy bear.. It has came out really cute but i used gumtex with my fondant instead of tylose and it seemed as the fondant was still too soft... Everytime i would roll the fondant into a ball after a few mins i would lose the nice ball shape :( Is there a difference bet gumtex and tylose? Also do you think i can make this bear with gumpaste instead ?
Hello! Love your tutorial! I will be trying to make this bear on Saturday for my friend's baby twins Baptism.. I was just wondering (as I am a newbie) what's the difference between cornflour and powdered sugar for dusting? Thanks so much!

You can use either but I prefer cornflour as it does not lump nor is it sticky I use it for all my fondant work - it is just a personal preference. Have fun decorating your Baptism cake!!
I loved your video...I am going to refer back to it in a few days when I make my first one....maybe I will make a "teddy bear picnic" cake....thanks so much for your excellent video!!! XO
Whenever you say 'cut the fondant,' do you mean the actual fondant or just seperate pieces of it?
Hi If it is when I'm talking about the arms and legs either will do as long as you end up with pieces that are the same size it does not matter. If it is when you are making the bears fur then you are actually cutting / snipping into the fondant so that you get lots of V shapes which when random will give you the fur texture.
@InspiredByMichelle Yeah it does :) At first, I thought you meant cutting separate pieces of fondant, and then sticking it on there. But, I understand what you mean now :) Thank you! Have a Merry Christmas!
@rachelmulford Have just made my first shaggy bear after watching you vidio, came out brilliant really pleased with it, thank you for showing me how. Debbie
Hi Debbie, that's brilliant - thank you so much for watching the video. I ave 6 shaggy bears to make this week so I think my hand is going to get pretty tired with all that snipping!!!
Can you try using video instead of pictures? Would be easier to teach people, also more interesting. Considering using subtitles on your images, instead of flipping back and forth.
@S2Lycoris I do apologise for my amateur videos! it's just that I work 100 hour weeks on cakes and this is the quickest way for me to put ideas together. I hate to tell you but I have just added another one, how to make the fondant alphabet name blocks - five people asked me this week so I quickly took photos while I finished a christening cake. One day I will take some time out because I have a head filled with ideas I want to share. I agree 100% with you thanks for watching, Michelle
Hi this is Michelle, I just wanted to apologise to everyone for all the spelling mistakes. I did it in such a rush that I did not watch it back until now !!!! Sorry. Bye for now, Michelle

Hi Michelle,
Love this teddy bear video; how did you color your bear blue?
11beverlyanne 6 months ago
@11beverlyanne I just used blue food paste colour and kneaded it into the fondant first.
