  • I correct myself Misfortune. Pete You Are So Right On. Thankyou for all of your knowledge through your songs and comments over the years.

  • Pete. You were a fortune teller when you wrote this song.

  • Agh! What are the chords?

  • Pete Seeger: Someone who does NOT and will never accept incompetence from anyone. Here is somebody who used his human attributes at any length to fight for you and me. He cared and nurtured the human race with his music. All he asks of you is to 'listen'. Peace! Pete Seeger the first Punk rocker!!

  • Lulz like most beautiful music evar?!

  • you can burn the garbage are if you are a greenie recycle

  • @Izol0 take a few minutes and watch this, it is so thought-provoking: storyofstu ff. com

  • I really appreciate all of Pete Seegar's accomplishments and contributions over an amazing lifetime. However, this song is a little hypocritical. Judging from his biography, Seeger probably took a thousand or more flights in his life. His carbon footprint would take up a New York city block. This concert alone probably resulted in a small mountain of garbage.

  • go discuss healthcare somewhere else!

    PETE IS THE GREATEST!!!!

  • Boy-when you listen to that last verse you would almost think he knew what America would be like under Barack Obama. Bailous, stimulus, and government takeover of so much of the economy.

  • @Srd1126 It's spelled BAILOUTS. And the bailout was pushed and implemented by BUSH, not Obama.

  • @purplekilt It is called a typo. And GM + Chrysler went bankrupt and were taken over under Obama, not Bush. Obama wants to bail out everybody and take over everything. How is that Obamacare thing working out for you, btw?

  • @Srd1126

Obama wanted to fix things and not let us fall into a second depression. It's probably a futile effort; we've been hurting ourselves for 30 years with careless trade and economic policies. Social programs, while integral to American life, have become unsustainable. Economic growth has entirely benefited the top 5% while wages stagnated for the rest of us. The US has been largely deindustrialized. Our faux 'free' trade has killed us.

And for the record, Seeger is a communist.

  • @Izol0 So spedning trillions we don't have on Obamacare is supposed to prevent a depression and help unsustainable social programs? Taxing energy to the point it in not affordable is supposed to is supposed to "re-industrialize" the USA?? Free trade benefits all nations involved. Learn some econimics not taught by the AFL-CIO.

  • @Srd1126

Obamacare was an attempt to fix a trend that would have bankrupted us had we dome nothing. Cap and trade is supposed to reduce greenhouse gases and encourage alternate forms of energy; it won't pass now that Reps have the house and probably would have been blocked by blue dogs prior to the elections. The idea that free trade benefits anything but the rich is laughable, subsidized products level native industry and reduce the workers to slaves. Wealth disparity creates a new feudalism.

  • @Izol0 How can spending trillions on "free" healthcare not bankrupt us-it is already increasing costs. There is no such thing as a "greenhouse effect" and the market, not government, should set what kind of energy is used. Free trade benefits all, or do you want to pay 3-4xs as much for clothing, electronics and other items while driving cars like the Ford Pinto? Weath disparity is fine since everyone is doing better-quit being such a typical, greedy liberal.

  • @Srd1126 There is no such thing as the greenhouse effect? Everyone is better off? Keep living in your dream land.

Did you know that those who have less actually tend to be better off/happier? GDP/GNP are not the true measures of wellbeing - they are highly flawed measurements. Look up the Gross National Happiness is a measurement that takes into account people true standards of living - i fthey have food, feel safe are happy with thier governments etc. take a look.

  • @hellothere230 Gross National Happiness? What a croc. Money may not buy happiness, but funny how lefties always say we need to take money from some people and give to another in the name of "fairness." And yes, the so-called greenhouse effect is a total scam. And yes, everyone is better off under free trade, except those who own and work for the protected industries, they live well by forcing everyone else to buy overpriced and inferior quality products.

  • @Srd1126 tell that to the auto workers in Mexico who make 2 dollars an hour

  • @Srd1126 I see you found a use for all the garbage- you stuffed it into your comments.

  • Pinko.

  • Go PETE! Love the Sour Cream song, too!

  • He is so ahead of his time...get the last verse on financial collapse...prophetic.
