wow thank you everyone for all these positive comments! i've never realized it until i just decided to look at this video which i had posted a few years ago... i actually had some trouble retrieving this account lol
i just figured out that the description for this video is missing so i'll work on it soon.
Awesome you two!!! A million hugs and kisses for making this video!!! I just found some nice cheap pvc (16 cents a foot). I will look no further! I decided to go with the twisty ties but still wanted a hub. I plan to secure the joints with lots of DUCT TAPE! Figure a nice 7 foot radias will cost 60 dollars including the plastic! xoxo
thank you very much for showing us how to tie the strut and you have truly understood the buckminister fuller design. I met Mr. fuller while he was in Malaysia in the 1970s. he is a great and good man. Some are great but how many are great and good at the same time? buckminister is definitely one of them.
I like starting from the top and working down, this could be done with larger structures even, with the help of a forklift or other lifting device(s)...I'm talking greenhouses or regular houses...
Awesome. I am going to build my first dome out of hoolahoops. Colour coded. I hope to use it as a pattern for a stick dome... Very inspirational. xoxo
I like the ease of your materials. Pvc Pipes and binders is really clever. Would you think it was stable enough to cover it with plastic-foil or thin fabric?
BRILLIANT WELCOME TO THE ZEITGUIST VENUS PROJECT YOU GUYS. WE DO NOT NEED ANY GOVERNMENTS WE CAN DO THINGS FOR OURSELVES. THIS DOME COULD BE DESIGNED ON THE SAME PRINCIPLES WITH STRONGER MATERIALS FOR HOMES AND AQAPONIC NEEDS ETC.
@f0m3 I wasn't part of the project, but I do have some engineering background, and seeing how that was constructed, I would be VERY confident that it could support the film or fabric - and then some.

Supreme!
Am I right to think that the first shape had 5 sides, and the rest 6 sides each?

would the diameter of the pipe multiplied by 1.37638192 or tangent of 54 degrees give me the diameter of the joiner circle?

How would I go about building half a geo....how is it spelt dome on the side of my house plan and dimentions please

Just been looking at Polytunnels and now seeing cable ties being used on plastic pipe? the brain cells are working at overload!

What are those circle things? What is the relationship between the size of those circle pieces to the lengths of the struts?

cool dome. Totally neat construction method.

Where are you kids from, China?
Very nice.
Very impressive. You did it!
You make a pentagram, then it's equal sides; then you have a dome, a half a sphere.

What is the radius (height) of your dome?

Very Nice!

Smart assemble idea, since they start to build from the top and then just rising the lightweight structure to put the lower parts.

Diameter and frequency? It looks to be about 3V and 24 feet?
