  • hey, of course that was produced by the Big Bob Johnston...........he turns anything into gold.

  • This song is simply amazing. What a lineup of talent rocking out of this great folk song. Wish I could give it a million stars. It's going into my faves.

  • as a huge fan of Bono, I was surprised to hear this one, didn't know it...but it really rocks, love the guitar solos! Although all the vocals are impressive here, truely all legends, I think Johnny Cash actually steals this one...Awesome voice...too bad he's gone..Great post!

  • wow

    real rock n roll

  • I cried when I heard this song the first time. My dad worked for the WPA in the 1940s. It saved our lives but I remember how proud he was when he got a job driving a road grader for the county. ..... I wonder who wrote this.

It is so touching and real. I'm in a position now where I need a job and this really hits me hard today.

Carl Perkins tears it up on his guitar. I miss him. (and his toupee)

  • @fayeroe1009 i can see why you would cry over this, your story is very touching, we need a WPA today.

    Woody Guthrie wrote it.

  • Man, that was awesome! Some of the greats musicians of our time. Thank you so much for sharing! :)
