slavery left a legacy, and prejudice still does exist. The socioeconomic degradation of african americans did not disappear in 1865. After Union Troops left, Southern legislatures did the utmost to repress African Americans. There is still huge inequalities in America from that time. Though no one today is responsible for what occurred back then, we all have to live with social and economy inequalities and their consequences. Please keep that in mind.

After Union Troops left, Southern legislatures did the utmost to repress African Americans. There is still huge inequalities in America from that time. Though no one today is responsible for what occurred back then, we all have to live with social and economy inequalities and their consequences. Please keep that in mind.

@AfriKonArtist actually the slaves brought over to the colonies were bought from African slave traders by Europeans these slaves were already enslaved in Africa by other Africans due to tribal warfare within Africa or African slave hunters. Do you really think Europeans ran around Africa collecting slaves ? please at least do the bare minimum of research on a topic before making comments

@AfriKonArtist That would be a great theory if that was in fact actually taught in history class but in almost no history class I have ever seen is it even mentioned that the slaves brought from Africa were already enslaved in Africa before hand and that is was common place for the victor of waring tribes in Africa to take slaves from the losing side slavery was common place everywhere you can imagine in the world at one time or another you are not special.
