This is all explained in the last movie I have too say I'm a really strong person and not one too cry much but when dumbledore was killed A tear went down my cheek when I was reading the books as well I had this same experience if you have not seen yet you will see the reasoning of his death .
I hate when people blame Draco in this scene, he was never going to kill Dumbledore. You could tell by his expression and how badly his wand was shaking, if he had done it he would have the second he disarmed Dumbledore. People always call Draco the villain but he is more of a victim. Voldemort forced Draco into it to punish Lucius and he went along with it to save his family nothing more. Tom Feltons acting in this scene is so good, very convincing.
A jet of green light shot from the end if Snape's wand and hit Dumbledore squarely in the chest. Harry's scream of horror never left him; silent and unmoving, he was forced to watch as Dumbledore was blasted into the air. For a split second, he seemed to hang suspended beneath the shining skull, and then he fell slowly backward, like a great ragdoll, over the battlements and out of sight.
This is such a sad scene. While watching it (without knowing the ending) you think Draco and Snape are really evil, twisted people. But then you find out later that Draco is an evil person, but he was raised in the wrong family. And Snape....he only killed Dumbledore because he asked him to.
im already buying the books ;d i got the philophers stone and the half blood prince the deathly hallows and the goblet of fire i think ... or prisoner of azkaban
Omg, if you looked at Snape in the first movies you'll never ever would be thinking he is a good person. But here.. He doesn't want to do this. He loves Perkamentus and it's so horrible he needed to do this.. Poor Albus, poor Snape, poor Harry :(
I used to hate Draco's guts, for being such an arrogant-judgemental asshole, but now, you really see a different side to him. More like scared, rather than what he used to be, so I got over the last few books, and came to a truce. Tom Felton is the God of acting!
@DrixUy Dumbledore asked Snape to kill him to save himself the pain and humiliation of being killed by Draco. Also, he did not want Draco to become a killer on his account. He was a good man, right until the end.
@DrixUy Dumbledore was already dying at this point.. he foolishly intoxicated himself when he put on the ring with horcrux on his finger and Severus only managed to trap this poison in his one blackened hand - but they both knew it would spread eventually. Dumbledore designed a plan then to achieve three goals at the same time: make Voldemort & DeathEaters believe that Snape truly is on his side by killing D. Save Draco from killing D. Save himself humilation of slow & painful death.
@DrixUy Snape did not want to do it.. he's trying to rebel against it, but he sees D's point too.. the problem is, no one from Order knows the side Snape really is on - and no one should know, not to blow his cover. Dumbledore leaves S in this position cause D knows S can still protect students from too much cruelty from Voldemort.. It's a thick plot, not just one solution answer..
Hard to believe that Dumbledore planned for Snape to kill him just so that way Voldemort would gain power. But just imagine how things would have turned out if he didn't die, it was fate (sadly).
Also Snape didn't have much choice he also made that Unbreakable Vow with Narcissa Malfoy hmmm...so sad both of these characters didnt deserve to die (Snape and Dumbledore I mean.)
I think they should have done the funeral like in the book. I pictured it so perfect, and beautiful. But the movies are always so different from the books. You don't know and can't truely love Harry Potter until you have read the books.
snape was suppose to kill dumbledore, it was the plan, obvious reason why dumbledore said please, i read all the books, so it makes sense, this is only intended for ppl who didnt read the book
@Thechangerofways He wanted him to kill him in order to save Snape, remember that Snape was at risk of dying due to the Unbreakable Vow he made with Narcissa.
re-watching this...and seeing Dumbledore say to Snape "Please...", I feel like Dumbledore was encourage Snape to do it, and poor Snape and Malfoy...they looked so miserable after the ordeal.
@Silme037 Yeah, I actually liked in the movie how they made Snape looked. In the threatre, I felt so bad for him when he had to do the curse, especially when he foreshadowed before that he didn't want to do it.
Snape isn't betrayer , if you see his last conversation with Dumbeldore he was saying to him " You're asking too much " , I think he killed Dumbeldore upon a request from him ! I think !
And so Harry was scarred for life for the umpteenth time...

- Put him through a quick death instead of letting him die from the "ring curse".
