They would have had to do a lot better than this album and the 1990 one, which was worse, becuase Shalamar was already a group whose time was behind them, and they had to move with the times in a way that would be succesful and appreciated. It did not happen.Too bad.

1. The shalamar image was fading. new stuff & sounds were coming up and appealing to folks.

2. The new kids on the block were not even a shadow of the old group, and could not take off from where they left off.

3. No great/remarkable hits.

Its a good song..Thought it was Kool & The Gang for a while..They just could not make /construct any decent/memorable numbers like this after..Shalamar was hollowed out. This is why after the Hewitt era, things were far anf few inbetween.

What people have to understand is that this lineup was Shalamar in name only. Dick Griffey was trying to ride the Shalamar train as long as possible but he would've been better off renaming the group at this point because these people were not Shalamar.

the reason why you hear it is because it sounds like it...but this is something that happens in music anyway...even back in the 50's and up until now, all of a certain era sounds the same...but at least this era of copycats sounds better....peace

Exactly, each era has that specific sound theme. Ex: that clap the was often used in the late 70's disco/dance music. But i hear what trebleclef1916 said, i also do hear "She's strange" in this song (the chorus part). The notes are basically identical. Though each era has that sound, the music is never exactly identical, its usually a variation.

This is actually my fave version of the band but it gets no respect. If I am not mistaken they had acouple of videos out. It's definitely got a influence of the Minneapolis sound like airthang that came out around that time. Prince rules.
