The problem with too many metal bands now is they grew up watching crap MTV s and it brain-damaged them even though they mean well.

Most obscure thrash bands couldn't write songs as good as, "Angel of Death" ,"Epidemic", "Raining Blood", and "War Ensemble." Cannibal Corpse is the most popular death metal band of all time. That doesn't mean they haven't written some kick ass songs. Being commercial in a genre like extreme metal is insignificant.
