  • good thing they put this aircraft to rest. to old and to many deaths. it was a terrible aircraft

  • @spencerhopkins91 Which aircraft? They use the tutors still, and have for many years as far as I know.

  • @RCAFchicky The snowbirds. they need to go. they are terrible airframes cause they are way to old

  • @spencerhopkins91 The Snowbirds is the name of the group, the aircraft they fly is the Tutor. There is nothing wrong with this aircraft. The Canadian Forces use it as their training aircraft for all the new pilots. There haven't been any accidents due to failure on the aircrafts part.

  • @RCAFchicky myt grandfather was seriously injured in a snowbird crash. there were many crashes. and the tutors are very very old and do not work well

  • Beautiful tribute...A good friend of mine was on the 2007 SAR team at Malmstrom...

  • Lest We Forget Brovo Zulu

  • Beautiful tribute

  • im so glad im Canadian

  • I hope I never have to see a crash either in an airshow or in ordinary life,

  • this is an extreme form of formation flying. i quiver at the thought of being close to any obstacle (whether plane or other object) when flying. collision is far more deadly in aviation than on the road not because of the collision itself but because of what follows: GRAVITY!

  • The song is entitled 10,000 Miles and is the signature track in the 1996 family film Fly Away Home sung by the very popular, Grammy-award winner Mary Chapin Carpenter.

  • I heard that more pilots have died at airshows then in dogfights, is this true?

  • @arandomperson240 I doubt it. If you're counting from when dog fighting actually technically started, it's WW1, I believe that many more pilots have been killed in dog fights as opposed to air shows.

  • Long live the Snowbirds

  • may their spirits soar where the tutor could never go, soar on

  • may rest in peace , skilfull pilots

  • These are truly skilled pilots. What an honour it is to watch them perform.

  • I'm glad to say that in many airshows I've attended, I've only seen one non-fatal crash. It's such a shame when we lose a pilot, but boy how these guys live!

  • I have to admit, probably th-eeeeeeee best Aerobatic team in the world "Snowbirds". And damn right all of the fallen Snowbirds, have not fallen they have risen and made our country proud. "Soar High Snowbirds, Soar High"

  • thx sam....speak the truth....

  • May the fallen soar in calm clear sky's

  • amen

  • I was at the crash in Grande Prairie , AB in 1978. RIP Gordon de Jong.

  • My dad was at that crash..

  • Long live the Snowbirds and all who fly with them

  • I only have a private and IFR rating. Theese guys r great and make it look so peaceful. Lot's of love and R.I.P. to all.

From your neighbor to the South. Stay strong.

  • If only more were like you.

  • Thank you for that amazing video memorial. I knew a few of the guys. Thank you!

  • Thank you. I flew Hornets with Miles Selby. Thank you for remembering him for what he loved. :)

  • it was a terrible thing that happend and made even worse because i know one of the men personaly. this is a wonderful video thankyou

  • What a wonderful tribute. Beautifully done. It really touched me. I remember seeing the Snowbirds for the first time when I was a child at an air show and they are truly amazing!!

  • when i went to the 2008 Quebec city airshow, they, for the first time in history, had the Red Arrows, the Thunderbirds, the Blue Angels and the Snowbirds all in the same place at the same time, and out of the 4 teams, the Snowbirds were the best.

  • red arrows are the best

  • The reds are very spectacular but there formations are not as precise as the snowbirds. Theres no better teams.

  • a snow bird crashed behind my house

  • how many pilots we lose to the snowbirds

  • I was on the search and recovery team for Shawn McCaughey it was a horrible ordeal at malmstrom afb in montatna. After that crash there was talk about discontinuing the snowbird program and now I just learned their was two deaths this year... I don't get it.

  • Mav was my Uncle. Thank you for this video - it means the world to me.

  • great job

  • wats the song called?

  • It's listed at the end of the video.

  • @aznboykicks The song is entitled 10,000 Miles and is the signature track in the 1996 family film Fly Away Home sung by the very popular, Grammy-award winner Mary Chapin Carpenter.
