  • Wow. He's so dreamy. Good song, too.

  • I've been hearing Yukihiro for some years now, any recommendations on similar musicians? Kinda' the rainy chill feeling. Greets from Mexico.

  • @chapisql , have you try "dip in the pool" ?

  • I've been years looking for this song. Thank you.

  • After Kraftwerk the next best music YMO

japan and german will music connect :)

  • After Kraftwerk the next best music YMO

  • aesthetically hitting the melancholy zeitgeist

  • Me encanta. Una canción con un atractivo bien especial. Gracias.

  • Very Roxy Music, and in the best possible way. Sublime.

  • @rabidmonkey69

Yep. And let's not forget that Andy McKay and Phil Manzanera played on Takahashi's Neuromantic album.

  • I'm a big fan of flat-caps and planning on buying more soon...I love this song and Yukihiro Takahashi is my favourite YMO!

  • This sounds like it would be from an anime that came out in the 90s sound track.

  • @lilgrim131 UP YOURS buddy!!!!!!

  • what a song....this started it all for me..the Yen/YMO records obsession.

  • for me, this track makes life worth living

  • hello super jam

  • great song

  • Is that James Hong from 4:02-4:03???? It's killing me!!!!!! you know, "Lopan" from Big Trouble in Little China.

  • No, it's Haruomi Hosono. Are the other people band members too? Hajime Tachibana at 3:54?

  • Haha, it's not. I believe that's Haruomi Hosono.

  • lol. yeah. looked like a young Lopan to me for some reason

  • A bit hard to find the lyrics. Great song for sure. Ive really been geting into YMO for the last couple months.

  • what a time for music this was. I first heard this album in a record store in SF. early 80's..Kicked off , what turned out to be a BIg ADventure, into Japanese POP, YMO etc.!..a pivotal record in my collection.Chris MOsdell's lyrics really blended well with the YUKI.thanks for posting this.

  • Absolute classic.Still sounds fresh.Timeless

  • My favor.

  • wow... takes me back near 25 years. has it been that long? gee... reminds me of better days.

such a great track... just awesome.

  • I originally first heard this song from Sandii and the sunsetz although I really love the Yukihiro takahashi version of it even better.

  • One of many fine songs from Mr Y.T

  • Blimey, I haven't listened to this in ages! I loved Neuromantic when it came out.

Thanks for sharing, fist time I've seen this footage!

  • Brilliant and lovely and haunting.

Tony Mansfield must be some kind of genius.

  • Very very Mansfield sounding. Lovely to hear that 'feeling' in a song again after all these years.

  • Some Roxy Music as well...

  • Yes, the vocals are "very Ferry"!

  • In the credits of this album appears Phil Manzanera (guitars) and Andy Mackay (saxo), both from Roxy Music.

  • Ahhhh. yes, indeed.

  • yes but also reminds to David Sylvian

  • Yes it's Tony Mansfield.

  • this song's new to me - but sounding good.

touched by the hand of Tony Mansfield (New Musik) judging by the sound.............

    am I right?

  • Yes it is Tony Mansfield.

  • one of the most corniest opening-lines i've ever heard and probably the only time i've a 'washing machine' ever mentioned in a song.pure class.i bort this in '81 and still listen to it today.gr8 posting.many thanks,Zig.

  • "Bort" wasn't he in one episode of the Simpsons?

    ;)

  • Great song off a great album. I've seen this video many times long ago in New Zealand. It was used as a filler on TV for some reason.

  • yeah same here...saw it on the music show shazam with phillip scofield.

  • I love this song, but the video is kind of disturbing

  • he was in a band called yellow magic orchestra nice song

  • wow!

I've heard this song that sang by Sandii, but, it is the Yukihiro's original for sure, and this is my first time to hear Yukihiro's original version!

    Thanks for the vid!!

  • If you liked the song. You will really enjoy the Cd. It's called "New Romantic"

  • Neuromantic, sorry :)

  • @michinco

Actually, it's the other way around: Sandii's version (1980) is the original and Yukihiro's version (early 1981) is the cover. In Sandii's original version, however, YMO were the producers and instrumentalists, with Yukihiro on drums.

The original Sandii/YMO version sounds newer mainly because it was way ahead of its time, with experimental sounds similar to 90s music (acid/ambient/techno/trance), while Yukihiro's version sounds more mid-80s (i.e. slightly less ahead of its time).

  • Cool.

    Mr.Y.takahashi is my favorite artist.

  • Excellent.

The music AND video are very atmospheric.
