what a time for music this was. I first heard this album in a record store in SF. early 80's..Kicked off , what turned out to be a BIg ADventure, into Japanese POP, YMO etc.!..a pivotal record in my collection.Chris MOsdell's lyrics really blended well with the YUKI.thanks for posting this.
one of the most corniest opening-lines i've ever heard and probably the only time i've a 'washing machine' ever mentioned in a song.pure class.i bort this in '81 and still listen to it today.gr8 posting.many thanks,Zig.
Actually, it's the other way around: Sandii's version (1980) is the original and Yukihiro's version (early 1981) is the cover. In Sandii's original version, however, YMO were the producers and instrumentalists, with Yukihiro on drums.
The original Sandii/YMO version sounds newer mainly because it was way ahead of its time, with experimental sounds similar to 90s music (acid/ambient/techno/trance), while Yukihiro's version sounds more mid-80s (i.e. slightly less ahead of its time).

I've been hearing Yukihiro for some years now, any recommendations on similar musicians? Kinda' the rainy chill feeling. Greets from Mexico.
