If people just read her bio it says: lizabeth Cantu has owned and been working with parrots since 1994. She has been active in captive parrot rescue and rehabilitation.
So she must have rescued this bird. The bird obviously has a PLUCKING problem and it is not due to molting. If this were due to molting than that bird would have another serious issue.
i am 13 and getting a parakeet (i think they call them budgie) i know nothing about birds but if you just keep giving them a treat wouldn't i always have to give them a treat or could i slowly stop giving them a treat just voiced possitive influence.
I bought my cocketiel treats but her doent like them any sopport or ideas pls go to my chnnel and post or reply to me so i can get a e-mail saying somebody replying

Your parrot(the one with the feather plucking problem)Made me feel extremely uncomfortable. i bet he's plucking because you don't give him enough attention and neglect him, but for some reason you come on these videos and act like you know everything about parrots, but your parrot is is plucking probably because of neglect.
Please; we don't know that she didn't adopt that poor bird as part of a rescue.
Yes, sometimes ppl have to give up their birds because of a change in circumstances, my sister is caring for a Military McCaw and two African Greys for that reason (and never mind the cockatiels and other small birds over the years).
Is there something wrong with the Macaw. The head looked fine but when I saw the body it looked wasted away. The contrast between the birds head and body left me feeling uncomfortable.
its not the macaw that has the problem its the cockatoo and that definitely is feather plucking because they can't reach their own head so the head is left untouched
its not a macaw... It's a Umbrella Cockatoo and its plucking, badly. This could be because of a lot of problems but most of it is because of the owners neglect. Food, boredom, stress ect plucking doesnt happen in the wild.
its not always formed by negelct. My friend has 2 birds a conure and an african grey she treats them both like her children, she doesn't neglect them but the african grey plucks his feathers, he is just more high strung. I think maybe she gives them too much attention maybe thats why he plucks lol.
why do you let us to see the parrot in that bad condition loosing it's feathers?
what do you think the people think of you? that you don't take good care of the parrot? (i'm just concerned to you..)

I tried to give my Cockatiel a treat but she kept dropping it. I tried to wait until she got a good grip on the seed but she kept letting go of it.

Can you teach a parrot to things with just saying "Goood" and clapping them? Or must you give it a treat?

et6151 4 years ago
Nah they're not suppose to look like that.
Thats the result of feather plucking.
Nope it looks like an adult bird.
