  • THE GUITARS WERE HEAVENLY, HEAVENLY, HEAVENLY, PLEASURABLE . AND THE COMBINED TALENT OF THE GROUP.

  • a feel good song

  • Wow such good memories this song brings to me!!! Thanks for the post!! :))

  • love it

  • Waaaait a second. is it me, or does this sound like "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley?

I may have just ruined the song for everyone.

  • madea's family reunion brought me here ^-^

  • this is funk at its best..brick was solid as a rock..as a brick..well ..you know what i mean

  • Oh yeah...

  • Lagos city with it's lagoon, Victoria island then the vast atlantic ocean in front of it...on a saturday morning drive on the EKO bridge over the lagoon with my cousin and this tune playing on the radio by deejay JACOB AKINYEMI JOHNSON on FRC2 and you can feel the ocean breeze and the positive energy of the city and this tune all in one accord....very very sweet and this city I tell you mimics NEW YORK CITY the same energy...such majesty in simpler times.

  • welcome home roscoe jenkins brought me here!! :D

  • Now this is real old school and wouldn`t you know you it , It still kicks up the dust off the floor!!

  • this music is so good

  • My daddy had this album as well as about 300 plus old school LPs...I sure hate he gave them away!

  • @sunflowerjade1972 THAT REALLY SUCKS! I DONT THINK SOME PEOPLE GRASP THE VALUE OF GOOD MUSIC ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS ON VINYL!!! NUTTIN AGAINST UR DAD HE PROBABLY HAD THEM FOREVER HUH?! I WISH SOMEONE WOULD GIVE ME A BUNCH OF LP'S.....

  • @jpribbleNY1 Got em in the attic, class of 1974.

  • @moe2956 nice!!!

  • I got tickets to see them tonight at Morongo! And then I went to Wal-Mart and guess what I found...House Party! hahaha what a coincidence! Thanks for the post cause I gave the tickets to my younger nieces and they wanted to see what they sang and I tried to tell them it was on ouse Party...and so we found your site. Good looking!

  • Aahhhhh, good music... when you could understand the lyrics, dance and have a good o' time.....

  • Madea's Diary of a Mad Black Woman at the bbq........Memories :)

  • Thank God I was alive during this time and can appreciate the vibe of the times. The 70s was all about partying and having a good time......and it WAS a good time! Why did it have to end? Oh well.....at least it did happen!

  • 6 stupid 1diots dont like FUNK

  • Saw this performance live and in concert! Magnificent!

  • heartbreaker. kid and play "sampled" this. ouch.

  • im sad to find out that kid n plays version wasnt original

  • The whole funk, nothin' but the funk!

  • Atlanta own brick

  • Fun & Funky!

  • So that's where Kid N Play got it from. I think the original might be better den da Kid N Play version simply cuz this is cruzin & dancing music, the remake was a Friday & the weekend song about goin out & gettin at girls

  • Zebee, do you remember this one.

  • I remember this one too. Freshman year in college, 1977; played there along with other funk records MOST OF THE TIME! During the fall, the song was inescapable; played in the school's outdoor quad and in dorm rooms (excluding mine; I only had my roommate's radio to deal with; it played other music).

  • Brick and Earth Wind and Fire were the cause of this white country boy to like a different kind of music back in the 70's.

  • I Miss that Funk! When us Blacks was funking in and dancing like we was in The Soul Train days we was on one accord! Now this Hip Hop done took over and look how messed up are!

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck Hey, you nailed it....we were ALL were out on the floor for this stuff, including clueless white boys like me. This was my anthem in late '77 (especially for pumping iron). Then (as an army Lt stationed in Germany) it was The Barkay's "Holy Ghost" with that bass vibrating your bones through the dance floor! Later it was The Gap Band's "Oops Upside Yo Head." Nobody back then posing badass, no hate (everyone just trying to get laid)- as you said: "on one accord."

  • @cemonkey1 everybody danced. it was the second reason to be at the club. number one: to get laid and number three: to drink! it was the best of times.

  • @tlynch1218 You ain't lying about that! Good times.

  • FUNK YEAH

  • I wish i was alive in the 70s. unfortunately i was born in the 90s. just when funk started to disappear

  • 6 people should have clicked on lady gaga

  • Oh gracious...a time when I had all the breath in the world and the flexibility of a rubber band! LOL!!!! Love this music! Thanks.

  • I kept all of this classic funk on vinyl. I couldn't let it go, even when they stopped seling vinyl records and turntables got hard to find. It's the digital age now.

Well, last year my beautiful wife bought me a modern turntable from Costco!

It's got a USB port and cord, and a computer program to turn all those vinyl records into digital audio files. So the music lives on forever in my iPod. Long live the funk!

  • @MeanGino upload some of your favorites you dont see on youtube! spread the love

  • @MeanGino what is that turntable called and do Costco still carry it. I cannot find it online and there is no Costco here

  • @MeanGino I found a company called Dak Industries that swears that they have the best turntable. Have you heard of them? Did your turntable work? Did it eliminate the noise tht comes with some transfers?

  • @msmillievanili

It's an ION Audio profile turntable. It's pretty good. Not perfect, but I can digitalize ALL of my favorite funk. I love that iPod! Is there a good old school funk channel here on You Tube?

  • @MeanGino If there is a channel like that I do not know about it. I am looking for a song that came out in 1982 and it would be nice if there was a channel like that, maybe I could find the song.

  • @msmillievanili

1982? Well, I have around 10,000 songs on my iPod classic. If you know some words, maybe I can help you out.

  • @MeanGino I was hoping you said that. 1st: It is a fast song, and the only words I remember is: 'This must be heaven, this must be heaven, ooooo yeah this must be heaven.' I know that is not enough to help because I have asked so many people. I remember the beat more than the words.

  • @msmillievanili

Hmm...gonna be kind of tough. Can you recall any more words? Was a woman singing, or a man? Or a group? Was it funky, or more like Disco?

  • @MeanGino It is funky, a group of men. It is very funky and very upbeat. The horn section go crazy after that part where they say "oooooo yeah this must be...."

  • @MeanGino You have to go crate diggin, I used to take my dad all the time to Berkeley, and he keeps building his vinyl collection. Then we would go to his house and jam on.

  • Oh man! Brick, Con-funk-shun, Bootsy Collins!

We had it all back then, didn't we?

  • @MeanGino Stop man!! You're making me jealous!

  • @heckto35

Sorry, man. But you can still jam to the Funk! Just head on down to your local Costco or Radio Shack. They can hook up your entire Funk collection and digitalize it! It's the new age, my man!

  • @MeanGino Well alright! Thanks for the heads up!

  • @MeanGino Yes we Did

  • @MeanGino amen

  • @MeanGino I don't know if I had it all. But when we jammed at them house parties to Brick, Bootsy, EWF, Graham Central Station, Rufus, The Ohio Players n all that real s--t, sho seems like we did.

  • @roryrook

LOL! remember the "Blue Light" parties?

  • @MeanGino YESSIRRRRRRR I do! Out west we called em black lights.

  • @roryrook

LOL! Oh yeah, they made the posters look weird if you had too much weed!

  • @MeanGino We sure did !!!!!!

  • I remember buying this LP back in 1977. I was stationed in England (near Oxford) and had just started dating my future wife. Brings back fond memories hearing this tune again.

  • Mendel Catholic Prep Class of '82 ... plain & simple music from this era was party music.. made U wanna get up & dance.. no talk to sex in the music, no talk of material wealth, guns or violence. The kids today dont even dance with each other! which is such a shame, Im a P-Funk & R&B kid...and Proud of it!

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhh a blast from the past. takes me back to when i was little we dance to this song at many fanily reunions in the 70's
