@TheFlyingTeletubby IT hasn't came out in the US yet. DIsney only brings out one Studio Ghibli film every year and their last one, The Borrower Arriety, just hit theaters last Friday.

i heard that david henrie (?spelling; he's from WOWP) is gonna play sum guy, maybe the main..? not sure. and (the main girl from Lovely Bones, Hana, etc.) is gonna be the main girl in this movie. and also moises aries (spelling again?) might be a character, but it didn't say... "/

looks good. i love all studio ghibli anjmation, this one looks more serious than magical but i love grave of the fireflies so i'm sure i'll like this just hope it doesn't make me cry as much! cant wait for the dubbed or subtitled version. :)

I saw the billboard that said "TOKYO 1964" (with the Olympics logo) . I wonder if this movie was based on a true story. Or is it not?

@claireandmatt1 It's based on a 1980s shōjo manga by Tetsuo Sayama and Chizuru Takahashi. It takes place at the same time as the Tokyo Olympics though. So it's a movie adaptation of a fictional manga set in a real time period.
